ARCHIVED Bun, Pizza Or Muffin In A Minute Recipe
bluebonnet replied to bluebonnet's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
well sometimes i notice its a little "wet" because it needs a few more seconds... every microwave is different. plus when they cool off a bit some of that steam and dampness disappears. oh and it is kinda spongy like ... which is another reason why i like it. because it feels like bread or cake or something made with flour. -

not sure if this type of recipe has been posted but i am loving it because it's so quick and easy and versatile. a friend who does atkins gave me the recipe and i've been trying it out different ways. my fav's so far- chocolate chip banana bread (yummy snack or if you are craving a sweet breakfast) grab a cereal size bowl and mix together- ... -
you can hallow out some tomatoes (if you can eat them) scramble an egg with some s & p and pour it into the tomato topped with some low fat cheese. bake it while you get ready at 350 for 30 min. or less depending on your oven.

ARCHIVED Anyone Know Much About Low Cholesterol?
bluebonnet replied to starrytrekchic's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
my total was 115. but my hdl's were only 28. that is seriously low and hard to increase. they told me it can increase with exercise (which i do) and avoiding stuff with transfat or sat. fat. i am curious to see how much it increases at my next checkup since going gluten free. -

ARCHIVED Is Cancer Inevitable For Me?
bluebonnet replied to jasonD2's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
unfortunately the "c" word can strike anyone. i battle with that thought daily. i hope it doesn't. harder to do than say but being positive and optimistic can help your physical health tremendously. prayer, meditation, faith and hope are important too. just keep staying away from what you *know* makes you sick. try to sleep, exercise and find people/things... -

ARCHIVED Joint Pain Testing
bluebonnet replied to Darn210's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
i've been gluten free since jan of '10 with the exception of some cc's and a 3 week gluten challenge back in may. i still struggle with joint pain. i have had all of the tests before celiac testing began (like ra, lupus, etc.) and they were negative. i feel like at times i notice an improvement but i also notice its aggrevated if i ingest gluten. i think... -
ARCHIVED Insomnia
bluebonnet replied to bincongo's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
i've had chronic insomnia for 13 years. that's how long it took me to be diagnosised with celiac. i also have hypothyroid. i've had that for 18 years but i didn't always struggle with sleeping so i believe it has more to do with celiac. have your vitamin levels checked. i have noticed since going gluten free that my sleep is improving drastically. -
ARCHIVED This Is All So Totally New To Me..
bluebonnet replied to tater218's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
i had to change my beauty products. i got cc from hydro. wheat in my hand lotion. i bet you anything keeping gluten out of your kiddos diets will help tremendously. my friend's son has done a complete turn around (age 7). its crazy how it effects your body physically, emotionally and mentally. starbucks is safe ... make sure you tell them you are... -
ARCHIVED Kind Of Worried About My Son
bluebonnet replied to mommyto3's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
its so hard to know you have to wait a month out to get the help you need. has he tried chocolate chex or other chex cereals? just about all are gluten free and the chocolate chex is awesome. maybe try the udi bread for sandwiches? its tasty ... expensive but sounds like his limited taste buds are worth it. its not like the other brands (which imho are... -

bluebonnet replied to Skylark's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
oh geesh. i'm sure you are already glad/relieved you called ahead instead of playing the waiting and wondering game. send your friend to this site. haha. unfortunately the tinest bit of cc here and there over the summer is affecting me big time. (i'm not purposely eating it ... but i am somehow coming in contact with it). its driving me nuts trying... -
for me, its been almost 14 years of dealing with insomnia. thankfully though i have noticed that i am sleeping better now a days (avoiding gluten since beginning of this year). i'm still unsure of what each night will bring (fall alseep quickly but wake up way too soon or not sleep at all or only a few restless hours). but its improving A LOT and it has...

ARCHIVED New!
bluebonnet replied to Cheryl-C's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
i was very prone to catching everything from the common cold to pnuemonia. i had pnuemonia 4x's over the past several years despite taking medications properly and doing everything the doctor said. i was so susceptable because my immune system was shot. haven't had a sinus infection yet this year ... thank you Lord! hopefully you will see an improvement... -
you will find so much support on this site!! if you like avocado spread that on a rice cracker with some pico de gallo or throw it in a salad. you will likely see a major improvement in your hypoglycemia (i did!). and as that comes, the weight will too because your intestines will be able to do their job once healed. good luck and welcome!

ARCHIVED For Those With Hypothyroidism
bluebonnet replied to kimis's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
i take levothyroxine. i've tried several other brands but for the past 2 years i've been on this. i've taken thyroid meds for 18 years and i've never heard of people taking some in the a.m. and some in the p.m. i always thought it was 1 pill a day in the a.m. i just get it checked once a year now. we'll see if being gluten free helps this condition ... -
i didn't do it as a new year's resolution ... its just the timing of my tests and diagnosis between dec. 09 and jan 10. anyway i went gluten free back in january but then i did an almost 1 month long challenge in may ... around 3 weeks so i'm not sure if i'm gluten free since january or "re-official" (is that a real word?) since may. either way ... gi problems...
