ARCHIVED Am I Still Having Withdrawals?
bluebonnet replied to sandsurfgirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
that is interesting about associating dehydration with hypo and celiac and new news to me. i have been drinking soooo much water the past few weeks and still feel thirsty. and now that i look back on it i have had several dizzy episodes which i heard could be a result of dehydration. i thought it was my blood sugar. i check my blood sugar often even though... -
ARCHIVED Rice Chex As Bread Crumbs
bluebonnet replied to bluebonnet's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
wow, this sounds really good! i'm gonna make that too! then it will feel like fried chicken tenders ... i'll bake them and some home fries. yum! -
not sure if anyone has tried this before but i wanted to share it just incase ... i made tuna melts last night and the recipe called for breadcrumbs. i crushed up some gluten free rice chex cereal (same amount recipe called for with the breadcrumbs). it was really good! i didn't worry about the consistency all that much ... it wasn't "dust" but i wouldn...

ARCHIVED Need To Find A Good gluten-free Pizza Crust Recipe
bluebonnet replied to serenajane's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
gluten free pantry has a french bread/pizza mix that was pretty good. it was recommended from this site. next time i make it though i will add some extra honey and salt. -
i had pneumonia 4 times (2 in one year) with bouts of bronchitis every few months. from the last ct scan they said i have calcifications on my lungs which is likely due to the chronic bronchitis/pnuemonia. if i caught a cold which was pretty often, it always seemed to jump into my lungs. hopefully that won't be happening anymore. i absolutely think the...

ARCHIVED Benefits Of Living Gluten-Free
bluebonnet replied to Glutin-Free Man's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
well i'm only 6 weeks into my gluten free life but i feel more peaceful. i recognize the freedom that i have with being celiac. i can control my health by eating even though i have limits to what i can eat. i LOVE sugar. i'd rather have something sugary and sweet or doughy any day. but with having to give up the doughy goodness of ordering a pizza and... -
ARCHIVED Hip/low Back Pain
bluebonnet replied to silk's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
wow...this was very interesting to me! i have low back and hip pain from degenerative changes (in my mid 30's) and i'm hoping as i recover (into week 5) these improve (atleast i was told the pain could go away but the spinal damage is beyond repair). -

my cardiologist said msg can absolutely trigger irregular beats in some people ... its a terrible food additive that should be banned! -
ARCHIVED Very Irregular Heart Beat, Especially After Eating?
bluebonnet replied to mesmerize's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
my heart seems to behave the same way. i've had all kinds of testing done. it would race for hours and sometimes up to 200. very scary. i've got hypothyroidism. i notice it would happen after eating, or if i don't get enough sleep (which is always!) or if i drank something or even that time of the month. i have noticed it calmed down immensely since... -
ARCHIVED Anybody Else Missing "Real" Bread?
bluebonnet replied to SJR's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
at this moment i am waiting for my gluten free pizza dough to rise ... its made by "gluten free pantry" and called french bread & pizza. i'm trying it as pizza. it was highly recommended on this site. we'll soon see ... so far it smells like real dough! -
from my own reading and learning about celiac through various books, websites etc. the concensus seems to be that many doctors don't know because there is not as much research being done due to no money/interest in pharmecuetical companies? there are doctors out there willing to help though. best wishes!

ARCHIVED Should I Get A Colonoscopy Now?
bluebonnet replied to jasonD2's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
it will give you peace of mind knowing what is going on in there. the prep is not fun but i've had 2 already. if you have it make sure that you drink TONS of water after it is over because you will be dehydrated from the prep. -
ARCHIVED Being Boarderline And Confused!
bluebonnet replied to beksmom's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
"mild" compares to what my doctor said about my bloodwork "at best okay". i didn't do the endoscopy but had enterolabs do genetic and gluten and it came back positive. i see a lot of gi issues in my (short for his age 13 year old) and now knowing i've got the genes, i am having him tested. a postive response to gluten free diet is also confirmation. my... -
ARCHIVED Husband Eats Gluten At Home - I Keep Getting Sick - Cc?
bluebonnet replied to 8Curvey8's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
well there could be something not getting properly cleaned afterwards. i will make my boys' sandwiches or add garlic bread to my family's meal and even though i cleaned it and controlled where it was in the back of my mind i'm thinking to myself "is it really clean, did i get it all?" that is a great idea to keep part of the kitchen off limits. i hope... -
ARCHIVED Is Gluten Free A Cure All?
bluebonnet replied to bluebonnet's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
thanks for the responses! other than my thyroid i'm thankfully healthy with the exception of things gone wrong and *most likely* associated with celiac. i'm not blaming everything on celiac, but my spinal changes were from deficiencies so that i am convinced was from years of untreated celiac. since i'm still in the new phase i do assume gas/bloating is... -
i've read the battles and scars of many of you in your "signatures" and i am just curious how much healing and recovering from the damage in your body from years of undiagnosed celiac? i hold out hope of my hair growing in thicker, skin healing, bone and joint pain disappearing, gi issues and insomnia a thing of the past and not needing to constantly use...

ARCHIVED Entero Labs
bluebonnet replied to JamMama's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
after my "at best okay" (doctor qoute) bloodwork i decided to look into enterolab as a backup. i got the $400 testing because i wanted the genetic portion too. after i received my results i spoke with a couple of different people at enterolab and they explained everything in detail. i was/am very glad i decided to use them. its been almost 1 month since... -
my hair thinned out and i thought (still maybe think that) its due to hypothyroid but i am holding out hope that it will grow back in nice and full again! i miss my big hair days!!!

i ate some tuna a few times and haven't had any problems. hope he's feelin' better! -
welcome! the gi symptoms will get better. just be diligent about gluten patrol. (check your hand lotions too!) it just takes time but hopefully you will see improvements with each week passing. today is exactly 3 weeks for me and while i'm still struggling with acid reflux and a couple of other gi issues here and there, i definitely see significant improvement...

ARCHIVED Anyone Recover From Chronic Insomnia After Going gluten-free?
bluebonnet replied to carrieanna76's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
i thought the b vitamins were responsible for energy and was surprised to read you take them so close to bed time. i feel like i haven't slept for 13 1/2 years now and hated when night time rolled around because i knew it was gonna be a looooong night. i don't want to take any sleeping meds but i will give the b vitamins a try. it would be so great to...
