  1. Oh No! Don't give them info either! First, if the person actually filed worker's comp - they would have given them an address or phone number. So its not likely it is really worker's comp on the phone. Second, if its a claim against your company in some way, a receptionist should not get involved in making those legal decisions.
  2. No where that I have ever worked - retail, hospital, restaurant, big business - would give out personal info to someone without a legitimate subpoena. So I see no reason why you shouldn't say that you are not allowed to give that out. "Sorry. We aren't allowed to give out that information. Have a nice day" Hang up before they an argue. It isn't...
  3. We have had a few articles about oats on here recently https://www.celiac.com/articles/23826/1/Oats-Not-Safe-for-Some-People-with-Celiac-Disease/Page1.html
  4. I received this response from General Mills, the parent company of Progresso. It is a great response and should make you feel safe, from a gluten stand point, eating their soups. " Thank you for contacting Progresso with your inquiry. General Mills products labeled as gluten free do not contain wheat, rye, barley or a crossbred hybrid of these...
  5. These are really yummy. I used butter but I bet you could use margarine. Use water for the glaze & maybe a teeny amount of vanilla or cinnamon. Open Original Shared Link
  6. Flourless chocolate cookies Mix 2 cups powdered sugar, 1/2 cup cocoa, 2 tsp. cornstarch, 1/4 tsp. salt, 2 egg whites (not beaten). Should be thick enough to form balls; if not, add more sugar. Should be sticky and form a imperfect ball. Stir in 1 cup nuts (unsalted peanuts, pecans, or walnuts.) Form into 15 balls, place on parchment paper, and bake...
  7. Have you done any merange cookies with choc chips? You can use food coloring to make them green or sugar sprinkles on the top to make them red or green, etc. I can get you a recipe we use tomorrow if you want? My BIl makes them with crushed candy canes instead of chocolate chips. Yum!

Antibodies take time to build into the blood stream before they can be detected through blood analysis. For a gluten challenge we recommend eating 1/2 slice of bread or a cracker each day for t...
  9. I have never seen a 3500. Not on a normal real Celiac test. Some of them stop counting over 100 or 200? I think.

  11. I emailed them about whether they test or not. I can't remember what they said a few years ago when they started labelling soups gluten-free. they have a lot more flavors than then did a few years ago. I'll post the answer here. But whether they test or not - the product still meets the legal criteria for gluten free - no gluten ingredients. General...
  12. Why do you think they are not gluten-free? Did you have them tested? In the US, modified food starch is corn or maybe tapioca unless otherwise stated. If its wheat it is listed as Modified food starch (wheat) or modified wheat starch. Edited to add- I think Progresso tests the soups for gluten. But I don't remember. That might be a good question...
  13. I don't get the white bread, but I have tasted it. It sounds like that loaf may have gone bad. Perhaps it was left thawed too long? YOu should notify Canyon Bakehouse - they would want to know. Really they would.

Sorry. I was concerned with the removal of these popcorn ceilings that often contain asbestos. It's isnt just about wearing a mask. Open Original Shared Link "Don't saw, sand, scrape, or drill holes in asbestos materials." "Major repairs must be done only by a professional trained in methods for safely handling asbestos." Me too! I have looked and even asked and not found wheat in these things. It seems to be an older house.... But I would still be more concerned with the fact that they took the asbestos popcorn ceiling off without the proper precautions.
  16. When I first went gluten free, I would worry about stuff like that. Over time, I have realized that most people and restaurants wash things well or its obvious. I would be more worried about the food they are serving than the plates.

Usually popcorn ceilings have asbestos in them - much worse than gluten. Drywall being made of wheat seems to be an odd thing I keep seeing everywhere. Dry wall is made of gypsum - its a rock ground to a powder. Could something in this remodel be making you sick? Sure. Is it possible they used wheat starch to mix with it? Maybe.
  19. Instead of changing your original post repeatedly, it might be more helpful if you would just post a new reply to people's questions. Replying, by editing the original post, is confusing and often, the new info posted is not seen.
  20. You added this list - but I have never seen any yeast at all in many of these foods. I don't know where you got this - but it is very wrong. also - baking yeast is fine for people with Celiac disease - but its not in most of these foods.
  21. If you want to have the endoscopy and the best chance of it being accurate, you should keep eating gluten. I would hate for you to be gluten-free for 2 months and have a lot of healing so that the biopsies are negative. Then some idiot doctor will tell you you don't have Celiac. Open Original Shared Link
  22. There would be no reasonable way to make a list of every food in the whole world. In the US, they will list it as "brewer's yeast". It seems to show up in supplements - but you will read the ingredients and see it listed.
  23. That was fabulous! Really well done.
  24. I wonder if they did any real Celiac tests. Never heard of them being high but not positive? I would get a copy and see what they actually did before you go off gluten. But if you have been gluten-free for years, then it isn't going to be valid anyway.
