  1. So you were negative for the celiac genes? DQ2 and 8? Have you had any celiac blood tests? Endoscopy?
  2. Folks, be aware of this. Lawn flamingos may seem kitschy and adorable, but they can pick a T-Rex clean in under 90 seconds at this time of year. Be careful. Use a trusted anti-flamingo spray before venturing outdoors. Let's be safe out there. Saw this Public Service Announcement on Facebook.
  3. I didn't know there was a debate. But I suppose some people will debate most anything? Lol I eat blue cheese. Yum! And it sounds like you found a reliable answer to your question.
  4. And then there is this one of the Celiac unicorn finding out that rainbows over the wheat harvest during a high wind (and really, there is always a high wind over a wheat field) are not gluten free.
  5. I liked this one. Just couldn't get it into my signature.
  6. I would, too. I have looked for them a few times, but had to settle for yogurt.
  7. Just curious. I have used the Schar and even the Glutino bagel chips. After having garlic cheese bread at Beau Jos made on Udis baguette - I might try those, too. We have had the Against the Grain, too. We like to split the loaf, get that flavored cream cheese like Rondel or Alouette, spread it on, wrap in foil and heat it up. Cutting is a bit messy...
  8. Seems reasonable. You could always rinse them off if they were too close to the bread. Or ask for one from the back.
  9. I think the Celiac tests are new to this doctor? If I were him, I would be embarrassed to admit I had no clue there were Celiac blood tests for the last 30+ ? years.
  10. Irish! Hey Irish! Wanting to ask you and keep forgetting - when you are making crostinis, what are you using for the toast part? Does anyone like my unicorn?
  11. Yes. I usually get the cheaper ones because I rarely toast my bread. Not a big fan of toast in the morning and I use Canyon Bakehouse 7 Grain and its good not toasted. I like to keep one in my kitchen box or suitcase when I travel just in case. I have seen some that are kind of short - didn't cover a whole piece of bread in the picture. They were developed...
  12. And....Barry is certain he doesn't have Celiac. But not really sure what he does have - as NCGI isn't really 1 specific thing. They are still studying it and finding different reasons for the apparent reactions to gluten or if it even is a gluten reaction. So - will eating gluten cause him damage? Probably not but hard to know at this point. ...
  13. Made enchilada with the chicken hub grilled last night. put the rest of the spicy cheese dip fro the other night on top with some cheddar. YUm!
  14. I think this kid is a bit extreme. Maybe she has allergies, too? But the fact that she says it is all from Celiac makes me question the validity of her book, blog, etc.

  16. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/101782-a-list-of-gluten-free-restaurants-unconfirmedconfirmed/page-3#entry925331 . Not everyone posted places with no gluten. I thought we just had this thread last week or so? I just can't find it.
  17. https://www.celiac.com/articles/520/1/Marias-Bread-Flour-Mix-Gluten-Free/Page1.html Looks like this is from an article posted from 1996.
  18. Ok. Looks like it says to mix it all up and store.
  19. There are 100s of recipes all over this site posted in the last 8 or more years. I'm sorry I don't know which one you mean. If it's very old, the original poster might not still be around. But you could try asking the question on that thread where the recipe is? I would think, that if it's a recipe just for the flour, you would mix up all the ingredients...
  20. Not sure what you are asking about? Is this a boxed mix?
  21. Got a couple of sponges and a couple of bathrooms? See where I'm going here? Even if they are 3 and 4, they can have a little water and a sponge and a towel and " clean". Because, if they have time to fight, they must need something to do. Or pick up sticks in the yard, dust the baseboards, etc. Now, You know what my boys spent their childhoods doing...
  22. Sounds like you were mostly gluten free for a few months when the tests were run? If that is the case, the tests don't mean much except that you aren't consuming gluten (if you are Celiac). You must be eating gluten to get positive blood tests.
  23. Open Original Shared Link "A gluten challenge is the period of time when gluten is added back into a person’s diet to assist in the diagnosis of celiac disease. Antibodies take time to build into the blood stream before they can be detected through blood analysis. For a gluten challenge we recommend eating 1/2 slice of bread or a cracker each day for t...
  24. Lol! Tonight we had grilled salmon with grilled pineapple salsa, smushed red skin potatoes, corn salad and some sea salt caramel gelato!
