  1. I was at ICDS and the geneticist and the other Celiac experts say that you can't have celiac without the genetic component. There might be a case of it, but likely something went wrong in the diagnosis process. That doesn't mean that people can't have problems with gluten and not be Celiac. There is ongoing research on the possible reasons for that -...
  2. Just an FYI - this thread is 6 years old. Any product info on it may have changed in that length of time.
  3. Sure. It could be Celiac. However, you have to eat gluten to make the antibodies that they test for. A negative test, when gluten free, only proves you are eating gluten free. You would need to go back on gluten for testing. Open Original Shared Link
  4. I see what you mean. That score just means she can make the thing that is tested but these IGA tests. That's how I see this. I assume the doctor told her they were negative.
  5. Looks negative to me. Not sure what you mean about " in the middle"? The 277 just means she makes enough of the antibody tested in the other tests. If she is doing fine on a regular diet, I'm not sure why she would want to eat gluten free.
  6. Shouldn't make any difference with Celiac disease. Supposed to help with reflux/acid indigestion symptoms. Not sure how that helps with fatigue and your other symptoms? If this were me, I would go back and ask for some real help. Maybe take someone with you to help you stay on track? Write down your questions and problems and ask what he is doing about...
  7. Show off! (need a green jealous face)
  8. I actually don't think dipping in a sauce that has bread crumbs in it is super sensitive. Reacting to a crumb is normal. Super sensitive seems to be those who react to amounts of gluten well below the 20 ppm threshold. I think that crumb of gluten is probably over the 20 ppm. And, as we know, just because you don't feel bad....you still have damage...
  9. Exactly my point! Now that you are getting the vitamins and minerals that you need into your system, things are working better. If your Celiac is so bad that you are leaching calcium out of your bones, for instance, what other things might be hurting for nutrients? I have even heard people who have less gray hair or improved their eyesight. Not me tho...
  10. Here is info on how to take your iron to be most effective. Open Original Shared Link
  11. Sorry. Perhaps the advice doesn't apply to you but maybe others who read this thread will find it helpful. Many with no obvious symptoms of Celiac find little things that improve after they have been gluten free and are able to absorb nutrients properly.
  12. I think there is a difference between "Super Sensitive" and having really extremely bad reactions to gluten. Super Sensitive usually means that you react to an extremely tiny amount of gluten that doesn't bother the "normal" Celiac. This sounds more like you are asking about an extreme reaction to gluten? I don't get that extreme a reaction. I get GI...
  13. I wouldn't call it an article. Its more of an advertisement for the products sold by that site. Most Celiacs eat gluten-free bread without issues. If gluten free bread bothers you, don't eat it. Try making your own? I don't eat a lot of it because I have never been a big bread person and don't need the calories.
  14. Sure. You can use those Asian noodles instead of rice. I do it occasionally - M and I prefer rice but hub and J prefer noodles. Last night, we were at the Residence Inn in Ft Collins, Co visiting J. We used the grill and made chicken tenders and wings with Gates BBQ sauce, potato chips, carrot & celery sticks, grapes and Halloween candy. Tonight...
  15. I would wash it and use it. We wash ours in the dishwasher. My kids eat gluten and make shakes. Maybe if my kids put Oreos or made gluten bread crumbs in it... But I would probably just wash it even then
  16. It was just mentioned in passing. It seemed that some doctors maybe diagnose people incorrectly?
  17. Dr. G mentioned that, by requiring " proof" of Celiac disease before you receive a box, they have found many people who don't have Celiac. He seemed to be saying that people were diagnosed incorrectly. But I supposed people will try to get free stuff if they can get away with it.
  18. Was it the crockpot balsamic chicken? My mostly " adult" sons love that store! They have coffee and cookie samples. They love all odd little gadgets, especially any that aid in the opening or ingesting of carbonated, hop based beverages. It's also an easy place to get mom Xmas gifts as they have lots of red, the official color of gluten free cooking...
  19. Applegate ham is yummy. We haven't tried any other " flavor". I get Boarshead in packages from the company. Its next to the Deli counter in my store. What about Hormel Natural Choice? I can get it at Target and Walmart and its about half the cost of the Applegate. I haven't had the roast beef because I'm a big roast beef person. But I know my son...
  20. I would remind to him several times why he is feeling bad. Kids forget so quickly. Maybe next weekend, when he feels better, get some gluten-free pretzels and melt some chocolate chips and let him make chocolate covered pretzels. That way he can see how they are made. Sounds like he doesn't know how food is made and this should just reinforce why...
  21. how about https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/104670-gluten-free-halloween-candy/ Open Original Shared Link These are US lists
  22. If going gluten free makes you feel better, and a diagnosis isn't important, go for it. Give it a good try and see if it helps. Maybe in a few years, they will have perfected one of the tests that don't require eating gluten. Just don't get talked into paying for any tests that aren't medically proven like "Non Celiac gluten sensitivity" tests or stool...
  23. Are you using the same toaster from before? There are a lot of ingredients in those, it might be hard to tell if one of them is bothering you. Maybe put them away and try them again in a couple of months?
  24. Those are a lot of extra tests if you are looking for Celiac Disease. I hope you didn't have to pay for them all! Or else they are for something else? I would call the doctor and ask them now.
  25. I just scrubbed my crock pot and then it died and I had to get a nicer looking one. Maybe you will get lucky, too. If you want to be tested for Celiac, you need to be eating gluten. also, you have spent so much money on the urgent care and now a holistic "doctor", why not just go to a regular MD and pay for it? Some doctors will give you a better...
