  1. Lol. I had to read that 3 times before I got it! Duh!
  2. I bet she ignores my response. And all the people that were making responses to her will probably stop cause I spoiled their fun.
  3. This is a friend I have known since we were little. Are mothers are very good friends. We haven't seen each other in years but keep in touch on FB. This girl has always been very conscious of calories and, as a result, was and still is, very thin. She also like to be trendy. This is her post: "Day one of my 1,000 calorie no gluten, less sugar diet...
  4. A colonoscopy goes thru the other end. It is not used to diagnose Celiac disease. An endoscopy goes thru the mouth. If you are having both, they will put you to sleep. However, it is a small tube and goes into your stomach, not your lungs. You should be able to breathe.
  5. Sorry you are having so much trouble and feeling so down. Don't want you to waste your money, too! Open Original Shared Link
  6. Laughing, causing coughing, causing head leakage is very therapeutic! Gets it all out! Was hoping for a few details of Bun's adventure. Like - was it the martial arts guy? A cute guy she met at church? A big strong Yeti? Em- are there men in that class? My yoga class has wanted to strip down due to heat but we always have a guy in the class. Don...
  7. It really said " unless their is a wheat intolerance"? I can't imagine how an eye drop would have irritating things like wheat in it.
  8. Not sure about Bubble Gum flavor? I LOVE the traditional! What is it about the soft gooey marshmallow and the crunchy sugar that's just so good?
  9. Don't just take our word for it, look at what the doctors who study and treat it daily say. Open Original Shared Link "Do those with non-celiac gluten sensitivity run the same risk of damaging their villi if they eat gluten? No. Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder where the body acts to destroy it’s own tissues. Non-celiac gluten sensitivity h...
  10. I just want to clarify something - an endoscopy diagnoses Celiac (in the upper/ small intestine). A sigmoidoscopy/ colonoscopy does not diagnose Celiac. It is in the last part of the large intestine. Not only would you have had no damage because you were gluten-free, but the doctor did not look for any Celiac damage.
  11. Actually, many of these do not contain barley malt. Just because it has the four letters MALT in it does not mean it has barley in it. These do not have barley malt in them: Maltitol in all the ways you listed it Maltodextrin Maltol Isomalt Just to add - "Gluten Free" should and does mean barley malt free. "Wheat free" does not mean barley...
  12. Just an FYI. The original poster hasn't been on this forum since 2009.
  13. Well... Sounds like you had a horrible doctor! You tested positive and went gluten-free for 2 years. By then, the damaged villi would have healed. Then they looked at the wrong end for the Celiac damage. Sounds like Celiac if you had positive blood tests.
  14. The only medical condition I know of, that a direct relative can elevate, is blood pressure! If their antibodies are elevated, its because their bodies are making antibodies. Not sure how your body would cause them to make antibodies. The reason a doctor wants them tested is because Celiac is genetic. They have a higher probability of having Celiac...
  15. B12 and iron and folate anemia a are common in Celiac if that is what you are asking. Seems like the doctor knew that, too?
  16. This is over 5 years old. I don't worry about gluten in a deodorant. But if you want to, read the ingredients...maybe email the company.
  17. Use the google function at the top right and put in Chipolte. We have had a few discussions about them
  18. I have really slow Internet now so I can't get you links. Google " celiac centers". Univ of Chicago has an easy one to read. You will see that they all say it is not OK to eat a little gluten. You could show some of them to your doctor. He might look at them because they are from " real" doctors.
  19. Why don't you read around on this forum? We have a recipe/ cooking section. Look at the what's for dinner section. See what others are eating. Many are dairy free, also. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/75238-the-whats-for-dinner-tonight-chat/page-354#entry858479
  20. Indoor BBQ sauced chicken, stir fry Teryaki onion, green beans and carrots and Chebe cheese rolls.
  21. If you think you might have Celiac, you should get tested for it. They usually start with a Celiac blood panel. Then, they might do an endoscopy. A colonoscopy doesn't diagnose Celiac.
  22. A DH diagnosis means a Celiac diagnosis. Here are some " reputable medical" sources you can show your doctor. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link "Can a skin biopsy for dermatitis herpetiformis (DH) confirm celiac disease or is an endoscopy still needed? A skin biopsy should be done on a non-affected portion of the skin near the rash...
  23. I had severe anemia. My blood had a hard time carrying oxygen to my muscles and brain. That made it hard to think. Once that got better, my ability to think got better. It is possible something else might be going on. Either another medical issue or a mental health issue.
