  1. I remember seeing something that the gluten-free soups were made at one factory and the others at another factory. Which is why a few soups that seem gluten-free are not labelled gluten-free. I have been looking and can't find it. I'll try to email them and see what they say. Many people on here use thier gluten-free labelled soups sucessfully. I rarely...
  2. Well....I just heard of a new yogurt that claims to contain wheat! Why? Why? Why?!!! Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link# Not really sure if they actually contain wheat or this is a CYA or a statement that they are lazy about their manufacturing processes. But, obviously, I wouldn't eat this!
  3. Can you do the injections? I never heard of this allergy before but I have learned, from this website, that people can be allergic to anything! I agree with Shroomie, find foods with B12 and start eating them, even if you don't love them.
  4. Look at these threads and see all the things people are eating Open Original Shared Link
  5. Yeah. You gave me a link to it before. I'm in Kansas City. We had such a mild winter last year it would have worked well. Maybe not tomatoes tho
  6. What is your recipe for arepas?
  7. It's genetic. All first degree relatives are supposed to be tested periodically, even with no symptoms. First degree relatives = parents, brothers and sisters, children
  8. Thats scary! Even more reason to get an official Celiac diagnosis, if that is what he has. You don't want him thinking he doesn't have a real illness so he can eat gluten in a few years. or schools or hospitals refusing to accomadet a gluten-free diet. You also don't want him on a bunch of drugs or with psych diagnoses when he really has Celiac. Just...
  9. When your intestines start to heal, they can better absorb not just nutrients from your food, but medicines as well. Perhaps you are now absorbing more meds than you need?
  10. I'll be blunt here.....perhaps you should stay home and be really careful about eating gluten free for 3 months. Then re- test to see if your blood tests for Celiac go down. If they are going down, you have found your culprit. Easier and cheaper than traveling to specialists. If they don't go down, then you could try a Celiac center.
  11. Even better. Still, there will be flour flying from the guy next to you? During baking, I mean. Using a quarter cup of flour for a gravy shouldn't send it flying and you could use your rice flour or whatever for your gravy.
  12. You will want to wear a respirator, too. You don't want to breathe the flour into you throat and swallow it if you have Celiac. It shouldn't matter in your lungs, but common sense says if its in your mouth or throat, some will be swallowed.
  13. That is the one I was thinking of. You put your old carrots and the onion skins, etc in it. After you have used it awhile, I would love to hear an update of how it works. We aren't supposed to have the outdoors kind here, but I think I could probably "hide" one. This would be very convenient.
  14. I haven't done this before. I wouldn't worry about the composting stuff. Is this one you keep inside? I would keep it in the laundry room or somewhere besides the kitchen counter and wash my hands after adding the wheat mix. Once it's outside on the garden, its probably broken down, but you aren't eating the compost or the dirt.
  15. Sorry. I clicked to this from the " new content" list. I didn't see it was super sensitive section. For the Super Sensitives, like Steph, they seem to grow a lot of their own foods or get them from local farmers that they can view the growing practices, etc. I am always in awe at the amount of gardening, even in the colder months, she does. It exhausted...
  16. If you are going to do that, you should probably re- do it every few months to see if anything has changed. I use a bit of common sense. Factories that process tomatoes, only process tomatoes. I have found 1 brand that adds flour to the flavored pastes ( Contadina). I guess you could cross that brand off your list but I wouldn't bother calling every...
  17. Open Original Shared Link WASHINGTON, Jan 18, 2013 –King’s Delight, a Gainesville, Ga. establishment, is recalling approximately 1,572 pounds of frozen chicken nuggets labeled as gluten-free because they contain wheat, a known allergen that is not declared on the label, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) anno...
  18. Open Original Shared Link Voluntary Product Recall – January 20, 2013 Pamela’s recently received notice from four individual consumers that they found what appears to be a single plastic or glass fragment in four different Pamela’s products. Although Pamela’s has not verified these claims, Pamela’s is taking precautionary actions to protect c...
  19. Why not test him for Celiac? At least the blood test, before you take him off gluten? That way you could have a diagnosis for school, college, hospitals, military, etc. When a Celiac person starts to heal and is finely absorbing nutrients they couldn't absorb before, sometimes they crave the vitamins they are deficient in. sometimes they crave them...
  20. Pork chops smothered with apples and onions over rice. Ginger carrots. So yummy!
  21. How do you know you don't have Celiac?
  22. Just an FYI You are replying to an over 4 year old thread on the topic of Frosty's.
  23. It doesn't show any wheat in this product ingredients. It has a lot of " unnatural" things someone might want to avoid. I guess what in saying is that this doesn't seem to be a very reliable site. They look like they say it has wheat in it, but there is none listed.
  24. Hi Colleen! Glad you are upright and laughing
  25. Open Original Shared Link "Does chlorine cause a reaction for those with celiac disease, especially those with dermatitis herpetiformis (DH)? No such link between the two has been researched or reported."
