  1. Soy sauce that has wheat in it. It should say : water, olive oil, soy sauce ( wheat, soy, ...) salt. There are soy sauces without wheat. If they have wheat, they must list it in the US & Canada.
  2. Today, my yoga teacher was trying to explain something and used an anaolgy of 2 pieces of bread and the meat in the sandwich (don't ask, it didn't make that much sense to me either). She said sometimes someone says they don't eat meat. I piped up with "I don't eat bread!" She said think of a letttuce leaf sandwich.
  3. That sounds nasty! I was asleep for mine. Don't think I could have done it awake! Welcome to the club! Your secret decoder rings and shoe phone will arrive shortly (but don't hold your breath).
  4. Well...that's a relief! I used to try to make gluten pasta and gluten-free pasta at the same time and the $2 I saved wasn't worth the stress of trying not to put the spoon from one pot to another, etc. My hub tried to make omelets for he & I at the same time he was making pancakes for the boys....it requires too much concentration and effort!
  5. This is a;most 6 years old. Check for updated product info.
  6. I have gluten free stuff that is red. I get red duct tape and put a big piece on my PB, butter tub, mayo, etc. I have a red toaster and a red colander (you can't get all the pasta out of the little holes) and red spoons & red cutting board. Be careful baking wiht gluten flour. It can linger in the air for a day or two. Then it lands everywhere...

  8. Lets all send our high school/ college aged boys to visit Shroomie! Just putting this one on because its cute:
  9. It's possible they put a little flour in the seasoning to make it stick. When you asked about the ingredients, what did they say? You may not be able to trust them if they have no clue what is in the food or just brush you off. It's likely they cooked other things, like burger buns, on the same grill before your piece of fish. As its early in...
  10. That is a post from 2009 linking to a 2007 post. 5 year old product info is out of date. You might want to verify if it is the same now.
  11. You said " roommate". Is this a " just helping pay the rent" roommate? Or a sleep in the same bed roommate? Because a sleep in the same bed roommate might be sleeping in his car.
  12. Isn't he a bit overdressed for an interview?
  13. Open Original Shared Link This is the Frito Lay list for the US. It may be different in another country. There is a gluten-free candy list from Halloween around here somewhere. I'll move stuff around and see where we put it. Lol Found it! Open Original Shared Link This list isn't the only candy that is gluten-free, but its a good starting...
  14. We like these "Oreos". They are a bit more choclatey than regular Oreos. http://resources.kinnikinnick.com/media//products/fullsize_single/s_62013300364.webp I love these, too: Open Original Shared Link
  15. Here we go. This is from Mireille on Delphi forums: 1 1/4 c. rice flour 2 c. tapioca flour 1 c. dry milk powder 3 1/2 tsp. xanthan gum 1 tsp salt 2 t. dry yeast granules 1/2 c. warm water (or a little more depending how thick is the dough) 1 c. sourdough starter* 1 Tbs sugar 3 Tbs shortening 1/2 c. hot water 4 egg whites, at room...
  16. I love the creamer and the ice cream! And I can eat cow dairy!
  17. They may be the same as they have always been. Many companies that once labelled gluten-free ,but did not test for gluten, have stopped labeling them gluten-free. A legal CYA thing. Some companies have stopped labeling gluten-free until they see if and what the law may be. Which just adds to all the confusion!
  18. Coffee is acidic and hurts my stomach if I don't add a bit of milk. Open Original Shared Link
  19. I think 4 weeks is too long to wait for your results! When you go to the doc and get them ask for a copy of any blood work and the pathology report from the endoscopy. This thread might be a good place to start your reading. For myself, I was so anemic that I could barely breathe. I think I wasn't getting much oxygen to my brain and it...
  20. I just split this out for Jill so she could get some comments on her own situation.
  21. This discussion is over 5 years old. Any info discussed that long ago about a product may be out of date.
  22. My grandma lived to be 100 ( born in 1898). She ate bacon, butter, lard, real sugar ( lots), coffee, etc. she did like an occasional 7 Up , packaged crackers, and Suzette's chocolates. But mainly foods she made herself from whole ingredients. I told her my little 18 mo old liked frozen corn ( he wanted it still frozen) and she said, very seriously, " I...
  23. Excellent job, Squirmy! Maybe we should add this to the newbie thread?
  24. Oh no! I sometimes put my frozen bread in the toaster for a preliminary toast, myself! And...Congrats on finding a $6 toaster! That earns you the frugal shopper of the day award! I wanted a red one so I think I paid $20.
  25. Read this and show it to your doc. Its from a medical center so he will be more likely to go for it. He can run these blood tests. Open Original Shared Link "For most people, the serum anti-tissue transglutaminase (tTG-IgA) is the best antibody blood test for screening for celiac disease; however, it is important to also get a total serum IgA.
