  1. If something is " certified gluten free" it is probably tested for gluten. There are various tests but under 20 parts per million is considered safe for most Celiacs. Many companies use tests for less than 10 or even 5 ppm. When I first went gluten-free, popcorn was very hard on my stomach. Corn seems to be hard to digest for me, especially in the beginning...
  2. I would question where they are getting these healing " statistics"? Many Celiacs have had repeat biopsies after 2 years and been found to be healed. Some don't bother to do that because they feel good and their blood work is good. This link is to a site that wants to sell things, not a medical research site, so I take that into account. Not sure of...
  3. Ouch! I'm not standing between you and your wine!
  4. Was going to say Toastit, but IH beat me to it. Jess found a link & previously posted it, for making them yourself, too: Open Original Shared Link
  5. Practice with my 2 posts here.
  6. Click " multi quote" under every post you want to reply to. (Had to try it a second to explain. ) Then a little blue rectangle will appear in the bottom right corner. Hit that to reply to all of them. You have to write your response after the last [ quote ]
  7. That's why I asked for people's thoughts! :0
  8. If you aren't the owner of the blog/ website it's OK. Let me clarify - if you have no interest - like you aren't an employee or a paid advertiser. If you just want to give someone a link to the crockpot website recipe you like or link to Target to show the lunchbox you bought - That is fine. If you still have a question about your post, you can...
  9. I'll have to write it up. If I don't put it up by tomorrow afternoon, someone pm me and remind me.
  10. Please don't use that list. It is almost 6 years old. Many items change ingredients over time. Check ingredients before you eat it.
  11. What do you think? Open Original Shared Link I don't think we have posted this here yet. Probably will show up after I post this.
  12. Bacon jam on pizza! This is a fabulous invention! Made a sour dough crust & partially baked, generously applied olive oil then dabs of RBJ then moz, provolone, feta, asiago and parm! So yummy!
  13. It's practically the same as the other recipe. When that one cooks in the crockpot, you leave the lid off to evaporate out the extra liquid. So I would think you would do that here, too.
  14. M decided it should be in pasta with other lasagnas. I thought about making copies and putting recipes in more than one place but ......too much work. I got some cute binders and the only recipes in these will be the ones I know we like. A pocket page in each section for recipes I want to try but haven't earned the right to be in the book. I had a friend...
  15. Trying to re- organize. - no...that implies they were organized before. Trying to organize my recipes. Can't find anything! So ....does Tex Mex lasagna go in " pasta" or " Mexican style" section?
  16. What are the ingredients? Do you see wheat or barley or malt listed?
  17. Last night's dinner was " Experimental Snack Night": Bacon jam Potato snowballs ( mashed potatoes around a piece of moz or cheddar, coated in bread crumbs and baked" Mozzarella " sticks" ( spray mini muffing pan with a good coating of olive oil, breadcrumbs, cheese cube, cover with more bread crumbs & spritz of olive oil) Champagne Cheddar spread...
  18. Good to get that taken care of. Did you get a crockpot for Xmas?
  19. This is an almost 5 year old thread, any product info may be outdated. Corn is not part of the gluten that Celiacs must avoid. Some people, with Celiac and without, might have a problem with corn, just as they could have a problem with soy or rice or strawberries...
  20. Tea bags are not sealed with wheat glue. They are either stapled or pressure sealed. A wheat glue would be water soluble and the tea bag would fall apart. Please note that product info on this thread is over 4 years old. Products change, so verify the ingredients before assuming they are the same.
  21. What about food pantries? You could get Pb, rice, pasta sauce to use on the rice, cheese, canned fruits and veggies, maybe Chex cereal, check the canned Progresso soups ( some say gluten-free on them), beans canned or dry, Dinty Moore has gluten-free canned food, etc.
  22. I didn't really care if you have a " poll" or not. Just pointing out to those who thought you might be a marketer that this isn't the place for a very scientific poll. Good place for a discussion.
  23. No. The animals food is digested and becomes muscle , fat, hair, etc. if food wasn't digested and changed into the animal, my son would ooze peanut butter and chocolate milk when he has a cut!

    ARCHIVED Hair Color

Just a FYI - Celiac is not a recessive trait. Not sure about red hair as what may be percieved as red may actually be blond or brown genetically? Open Original Shared Link
  25. Just want to make it clear to future readers - If you have Celiac Disease you are not "cured". You cannot go back to eating wheat when you feel better. This person has an allergy to wheat which is different from Celiac Disease.
