  1. I think that, according to the experts, DH does blister. I posted a couple of medical references about this. It could be possible that after you have been gluten-free, it doesn't come back as strong when glutened. Here's a few more: Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link
  2. Open Original Shared Link "Can a skin rash be associated with celiac disease? Dermatitis herpetiformis (DH) is an itchy, blistering skin condition that is a form of celiac disease. The rash usually occurs on the elbows, knees and/or buttocks, and is characterized by its bilateral nature; both knees (and/or both arms) are affected, seldom just one. Many...
  3. Were you tested for parasites, etc? Maybe you just finally got everything back to normal - the good bacteria vs. the bad. Have fun! Eat what you like. If you start feeling bad, get tested for Celiac when you have been eating a regular gluten filled diet for a few months. I realize this is a Celiac forum, but not everyone has Celiac.
  4. This is not true. If this were true everything we touched would go into our bodies. There are a very few things that are small enough to go through skin. An example is a nicotine patch which is specially made to be small enought to go through. But not the whole patch, just some cells on the patch.
  5. Looks like they forgot to list eggs: Open Original Shared Link "DEC. 29, 2012 Notice: Consumers with EGG allergies are warned not consume Kinnikinnick Frozen Pie Crust because it contains EGG products which may not be indicated on an applied ingredient label. Products without an ingredient label applied to the box are not subject to this recall as...
  6. Disney is a gluten free wonderland! When you go in, go to the visitor center in the "City Hall". They have a list of what each place has that is gluten-free. They have dedicated fryers and gluten-free buns. They have someone trained to keep the allergy/ gluten-free food safe.
  7. Before we jump to super sensitive perhaps we should look at the common sense, easier to fix things? Like eating somewhere besides home? I would send her food with her or not send her at all for a few months until her health improves. She is only a couple of months gluten free and , if she is getting gluten at these baby sitting situations, she really...
  8. I have never seen any scientific evidence that hair testing works. Before you spend your money, you might want to see if they are legit. Remember, a website trying to sell you something, in this case a " test", is not going to have objective scientific evidence. Same with these stool testing places that refuse to let their methods be peer reviewed.
  9. I just type what I want. Then I hit " return" key and there is space between. Not sure what the little " b" is supposed to do.

  11. Scared the $&&! Out of me for a minute! I take a lower dose & just got my levels checked! That's pretty careless! Thanks for sharing! I'm going to share on FB and Check my mom's dosage.
  12. Please tell us here you heard this? It is usually accepted that villi damage is because of Celiac or a few other things but NCGI isn't one of them. Open Original Shared Link "Do those with non-celiac gluten sensitivity run the same risk of damaging their villi if they eat gluten? No. Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder where the body acts to...
  13. Is it possible you have an inner ear infection? I have known 2 adults with no ear pain but dizziness and light nausea & they found they had a pretty nasty inner ear infection.
  14. This was just posted on the University of Chicago Celiac center's Facebook page: "True or false? Genetic screening is the best way to know for sure if someone has celiac disease." "The University of Chicago Celiac Disease Center Answer: False. Genetics are often times not even included in the diagnostic process. 30% of the U.S. has the genes for celiac...
  15. I don't think the price is really outrageous. If you went to a nice bakery for a gluten muffin, it would probably be $2
  16. Open Original Shared Link ALLERGEN NOTICE Udi's Healthy Foods voluntarily recalls certain 12-ounce packages of Udi's Gluten Free Au Naturel Gluten Free Granola sold in CA, CO, ID, MT, NV, OR, UT & WA.
  17. I wasn't asking if you were tested for Hashi's (that is in your signature). I was wondering if, before going gluten free you were tested for Celiac with a blood test or a biopsy or if they had biopsied the rash for DH. Look slike they biopsied but you think they may have done it wrong. What I'm wondering is if you really have Celiac. Maybe you don't and...
  18. 10 years ago - Did you have that rash biopsied? Or have the blood tests for Celiac?
  19. I don't know the situation at the school but you might ask if there are older kids that need service hours and would come & work with him. When M was in first grade, I had an 8th grade boy who came and read with him. They took turns reading. He would have helped him with other homework, but reading was what he really needed. this was arranged by his...
  20. Well...that's a relief! I thought my eyesight was going!
  21. You get your " pure ground beef" and go out your door and get some of that sticky stuff the deers lick, off your pine trees! Add it to your ground beef. You don't need other to add it. In all seriousness, it is safe from a gluten stand point.
  22. I finally worked up the energy to skim it. The " Do Less" did pop out at me, along with buy & read books and sign up for a computer motivation! Will need a lot of motivation to read Motivational books! I think that is an excellent and achievable goal! It can be made more fun with the addition of bath oils, champagne, and a hunky man.
