  1. NEVER. Place your food on the counter! Always use a plate or bowl! Get into that habit and your life will be easier. Get him to do that, too.
  2. This person is asking a similar question. I tried to copy my response but the links didn't work.
  3. Open Original Shared Link "What percentage of those with the genes will develop celiac disease? Less than 5% of those with one or both genes will develop the disease." Open Original Shared Link "If I have a gene for celiac disease, does that I mean I have it? Genetics don’t diagnose celiac disease. They do, however, clarify whether an individual i...
  4. Here's a good topic to read. It's about how we keep gluten-free when living with a WE ( Wheat Eater). I have red as the gluten-free color. I have a red toaster, red colander, red spatulas, etc. What I couldn't get red, I put a piece of red duct tape on it or keep it in a separate counter from the gluteny ones - my gluten-free cookie sheets...
  5. GI docs and "regular " docs can order the Celiac blood tests. Even OB/GYns can order it if you have one. However, for the blood test or endoscopy ( GI doc only) you need to be eating gluten.
  6. You are likely eating differently. Maybe more fiber? Less fiber? More green veggies? That sort of thing.
  7. Ski Lisa and I are going. We will try to bring back the info if our heads don't explode!
  8. Just a head's up folks! Except for the post today - the product info on this thread is almost 7 years old. That is a long time for a product. Ingredients may have changed.
  9. Love Thunder Snow! We had some a few weeks ago! In Kansas you get some every couple of years.
  10. Unless you are in the 3% that don't have the genes they test for?
  11. Just an FYI, you are responding to a 3 year old post. Not sure the OP will see your comments.
  12. When you are new poster, your posts will not appear until a Moderator has looked at them first. This helps to prevent spam and other inappropriate content.
  13. How much powder do you put in the muffins? Wondering if we could get my mom to eat one
  14. Whoa, Lisa! That's some crazy s&%&! I made some ground turkey chili in the crockpot
  15. In the US, there is no legal meaning for "Gluten Free". It can mean no gluten ingredients. It can mean the company tests for gluten. Some use tests as low as 5ppm. You would need to check the company's website or email or call them to find out for certain. Even if a product is tested with a 20 ppm test, testing negative does not mean it has 19 ppm...
  16. Excellent use of a smiley!
  17. Just want to let you know that you are responding to an OP that hasn't been on the forum in 3 years. You probably won't get a response.
  18. I only have 4 - a 6 qt, a 4 qt, a mini, a lunch crock. I don't have the 3 attached for buffet one. The way the men at my house eat, I could use a really big one!
  19. A Crockpot I don't have? I must procure one!
  20. Have you googled gluten-free poppers or onion rings? Something like this? Lots of people make poppers with a bread crumb outside so that's why you might find that. Open Original Shared Link
  21. Interesting pan. Does your lasagna never "boil over" when it cooks? Mine always spits and slops over the edge a bit. Can you use the gluten-free noodles for all the lasagnas? if a smidge of his real cheese slops onto yours or a smidge of your fake cheese gets on his, is that a big deal? A little gluten is a big problem but sometimes other foods wouldn...
  22. I think that if corn or soda pop or juniper bushes bother you - don't eat it, bathe in it or roll in it! It doesn't mean it has gluten or "gluten-like" substances. Open Original Shared Link
  23. I know what you mean. My microwave does 40 things and we use 3 of them - time, one minute button and sometimes the power level when defrosting.
  24. No! He's not going. Just thought I might tell him I was!
