  1. ] I followed your link & it said in big letters Contains Wheat So.... No I wouldn't use it. editted: On one computer it took me to the link & it showed the contains wheat statement. On the other computer it had a different list of ingredients. Lots of strange sounding stuff. No obvious wheat?
  2. FIRST Robotics season has started! It is a basketball type of game, so that part will be easy to understand. They were given an XBox with a Kinect that they can use for part of the game. I'm glad I don't have to figure all this out! I was so hoping the game this year would be a bionic digestive system! I guess that could be quite messy.
  3. I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner. This is so common in people who have had anesthesia. Please tell him it's the meds and the nurses have seen worse. If he really wants to know , I could tell him some " worse".
  4. Is the SCA still active in DC area? I loved it when they had live chess matches on the Mall, near the White House. Can just see you in chain mail, blowing glass and drinking mead.
  5. Sounds like a horror movie plot!
  6. You are respnding to someone from over a year ago. Hopefully, they have resolved this issue by now.
  7. Cinnabons are fabulous - for the first hour out of the oven. After that, they get dry and the icing gets wierd. You are not missing much. The roast sounds delish.
  8. Why don't you ask? Either thru the email or the appointment line. They make appointments but might not realize you can't come back next week for something else. Make sure they have any tests you have already had. Is there any blood work they want done first?
  9. Sometimes docs say your blood work is " inconclusive" because they don't know what it means. Post them and the ranges. Maybe someone on here could see if you were even given the correct blood tests. If the doc can't do the EGD correctly, I wouldn't be too confident in his ability to understand the labs.
  10. Open Original Shared Link Haven't been there, just kept ibecause sometimes we go skiing.
  11. I have it on my FB. I'll pop over there & get back to you in about 1/2 hr. Kid is wanting to get to Robotics.
  12. You are responding to a 3 yer old thread. The original posters are probably not around anymore.
  13. I think this is a good way to get the seriousness across. Just be prepared to supply all your own food. This may scare them & they will say they cannot possibly guarantee safe food for you in a cafeteria style setting. You can threaten with ADA and that stuff but that could take years & serious money to go thru the court system.....
  14. I agree with Janet. Bring some safe food like pb & nuts. Ask about a fridge or microwave. If you are driving, it's easier to bring food.. If not, is there a grocery near by? You could get some packaged cold cuts or cheese? Figure this out before you get there. If they insist that they will help you when you get there, tell them that doesn...
  15. I had that when I was 14-15. I had the radioactive test & doctors threatening to remove my thyroid. I don't remember the iodine test being a big deal. That was 35 years ago. I'm surprised they don't have any better tests now. It was determined I had a thyroid infection. They gave me thyroid medicines and monitored it every month. In about a year...
  16. This thread is about 2 years old. So re- check any info about gluten-free food. Products change & reading labels is still the best thing to do.
  17. Woo Hoo!
  18. I love them! They are easy to keep one in my purse or car incase I get stuck somewhere with nothing to eat.
  19. I was getting migraine much more often when I was eating gluten. So it definitely could be barley. Eating cheap: Frozen vegetables are OK. Read the package, but unless they have a seasoning or sauce, they can be cheaper than " fresh". There are corn pastas that are cheaper than the rice ones. Whatever you put on pasta, even marinara and cheese,...
  20. check out this thread. There is a guy named DRH??? That says he owns a BK.
  21. My son ( not Celiac) just had his wisdom teeth out so this is of interest to me. Especially if you had them in your mouth. I found this: To your body, stitches are a foreign substance, and the body is programmed to destroy foreign substances. Dissolvable stitches are made from natural materials, such as processed collagen (animal intestines), silk...
  22. Read some of the posts from when I was posting at the same time. I wanted to add: I can respect you not treating an illness ( Celiac, liver disease, cancer, etc). But , only if you have accepted the diagnosis, symptoms, treatment options, etc. and are comfortable with your choices. Honey, that's what I really hope for you - the ability to make...
  23. The Celiac stuff, doesn't really matter. That's just an easy excuse and a place to put your anger. As for the therapists.... Have you tried churches in your area? We have one with a big group for people with terminal/ chronic illnesses. You don't have to belong to the church or the religion. Call the hospital or cancer centers. Ask your doc. Call...
  24. There you go! Now you are getting somewhere! this is what I hope you will think about. Hospital or Cancer center Social Work Depts should be able to refer you to a counselor who deals with chronic illness. You need to grieve and learn to deal with the liver disease. Celiac is really minor after that.
