  1. When was checking on a glue I use, the MDS doesn't list the "safe" ingredients like wheat or soybean oil, or " I don't know what would be in it". I called the company. The young guy said he couldn't give me a list of all the non- regulated stuff. It's secret. But what was I concerned with? I said "wheat". He said, " wheat?". I said I have an allergy...
  2. My son ate a lot of peanut butter and chocolate milk the first 18 years of his life. When he got a cut, he didn't ooze PB or choc milk. A digestive system breaks down the food into nutrients that go into the blood and then the cells. What a digestive system can't break down, comes out the other end as poop. We need to realize that many animals are especially...
  3. Ore- Ida fries in the oven. I like the " Golden Crinkles" . Also, Dove dark chocolate. Dark chocolate has those chemicals that make your brain happy, especially in women.
  4. We try to fix them. Move them to the right topic or remind them that the info is old. I've even pm'ed people to tell them they have just responded to three 7 year old topics and probably won't get a response. We don't seem to attract a lot of 14 year old boys wanting to cuss & talk dirty!
  5. Wheat in wood?
  6. If she isn't trying after a year....has your hub talked to her? You can try but that doesn't seem to work. Why would your hub allow his mother to try to poison you or ignore you every week? It's his mother, you appear to be the outsider she doesn't like trying to steal her son. That's why I think he needs to put his foot down. Even then, I don't...
  7. I think these are just peeves for any forum. My son goes on car forums and robotics forums and has many of the same issues. I guess it's just part of forums. Like people driving 45 MPH in the left lane , on the highway, where the speed limit is 70. It doesn't just happen in Kansas, it happens everywhere!
  8. There ares products where the ingredients are different by country, even the US & Canada. Some of it probbly has to do with price & availability of ingredients. Some is regional preferences.
  9. The best thing just happened! A Dad from Boy Scouts that my hub & son know well just came over. His 13 year old daughter has Celiac. She made me a pecan pie! She even makes her own crust! I don't even know them! Wanted to make sure I didn't get short changed on Thanksgiving! Pecan is my favorite but no one in my house likes it! Maybe...
  10. If you are getting " glutened" often, maybe there is some other food you are sensitive to? Most of us do not get glutened very often. In the US and Canada, wheat is clearly labelled on food products.
  11. Many flavors of ice cream of any brand are gluten-free. You feel sick, I'm sorry. It could be something else. Or you could be sooo sensitive that the minor chance of cc got you. If that is the case, you should not eat any brand unless you can find one that makes no flavors with gluten ( cookie dough, Oreo, etc). Coming on a public forum and stating...
  12. Without bread, you need more than one to fill up. Mine aren't lettuce wraps because the piece of ham is the " wrapper". Maybe we call them Celiac Sandwiches? Celiac Wrappers? Low carb Delites? If Nicki Minaj (sp?) gets Celiac, that would make her a " Celiac Rapper".
  13. The original poster has not been on the forum in 7 years.

    ARCHIVED Thirst

Please note, the last post on this thread is from 2007. The OP you are responding to is from 2004.
  15. Wise & gracious! Wise & gracious! Wise and gracious! ( just repeating it to try to remember that!) I do sometimes eat sandwiches without bread. I'll take some cheese slices or cut into long pieces. Then wrap a piece or two of cold cuts around them. Maybe add a couple of leaves of spinach or a long slice of red pepper in the middle, too....
  16. OMG! All I could think of while you were describing the nose tube thing is, why don't they use laughing gas like the children's dentist does? Its very safe, cheap, relaxes them. Especially at 5 am. Just let him keep sleeping. If there is a next time for any of us. I do know several adults and kids where they can have a light case of pneumonia,...
  17. HI KAREN!!!!! HAPPY TURKEY DAY!!!!!

Now that I know what NOT to eat...it should be great!!! I'm cooking...we found a great deal on Rib eye steaks and it's Not going to rain in our part of cali tomorrow so we're bar-b-queing!!! LOL

Hope you have a Good one...just thinking about you!

    See ya on the web...

  18. How does changing the gloves protect you from the bits of wheat tortilla that are already in the cheese, lettuce, etc? I have heard this before but the flour or bits of bread or whatever are already in the toppings. New gloves, spoons, etc won't change that. Edited: Sorry Lynnelise, that wasn't meant to sound snotty to you. Just a frustration I have...
  19. I hope someone responds with one. that sounds sooooo yummy! Was the carmel "in" the crust? Or did they maybe put a layer of carmel on the crust? I make pumpkin pie crust out of gluten-free Ginger Snaps. Yum!
  20. I watched the one near me. I would say the cc is bad. They have wheat tortillas. Different people down the line have thier gloved hands on them & then in the toppings.
  21. Maybe some info fro the experts? print out & highlight the important 2 or 3 sentences. There are more than just these 2 so you can print out more "evidence." Google "Celiac Center" Open Original Shared Link Q: Is it ok if I ingest some gluten if I do not experience any symptoms? No. The majority of patients with celiac disease experience no...
  22. Well...that's disappointing! I wanted a coconut flavor!
  23. I think people will want some additional info. How old is he? Does he have any other food intolerances? Has he eliminated other foods to see if it helps? Things like dairy or soy? Been tested for anything else? had his gall bladder out? What ever other info you can think of.
  24. Do you have a problem with coconut milk? Is that considered a nut? I think the slightly coconut taste would be nice in pumpkin pie.
  25. I was hoping Chad was going to comment on "plunge bras". I just wish someone would say "I would just die without bread!" to me. I have my come-back ready - "I guess a diagnosis of Celiac would be fatal for you." Most people just say that they know someone with that or "What a bummer" I don't mind cause it is a "bummer".
