    ARCHIVED Blood Type

I think we are all over the place with blood types! I'm 0+. Reddish brown hair & freckles! No one asks where my ancestors come from, they just assume Irish or Scottish. Actually, only about 25% Irish, mostly German and some shady areas we are not sure of.
  2. Chad, That's a great pic! Click on it & go to his profile to see the person. Is it a self- portrait? When I told my folks, my dad went straight to the kitchen and starting reading ingredients. He was sooo happy to find their favorite turkey hot dogs were gluten-free! Not sure why. I don't eat hot dogs much. They are happy to try...
  3. So........ Back to the original posters question. Is there something that can be done to wash fruits and vegs - more than just rinsing with water and less than growing your own or quizzing farmers (an exhausting prospect for anyone). At least I think that's the original idea. It sounds like strawberries might be iffy and you certainly can...
  4. That's what you should be asking! Barium tests are like a fancy xray. You don't diagnose Celiac with that Write down your questions for the doc so you don't forget anything.
  5. Colonoscopies don't diagnose Celiac. Not sure how a barium test would either. sounds like they are looking for something besides Celiac.
  6. Oooo! Jess may never get out of bed! How did the kitties like the sheets?
  7. I think i'ld say something to my roommate ( who appears to be a close friend). I might point out that gas, bloating & calling the new " friend" by the wrong name ( brain fog) are not very romantic.. I would ask if the new love knows about the Celiac. If so, maybe offer to explain cc and safe kitchen procedures to him ( her). If not, the new love needs...
  8. Don't just look, get copies. You might have a question later. You might want someone else to look at them.
  9. Get a copy of the blood tests and look for yourself. Gluten is a protein not a sugar. The doc may not even have ordered the correct tests.
  10. So... What do you do? How do you wash them? Or do you not eat fresh produce?
  11. Not really sure what you are asking. Medications don't treat Celiac. Why not have him google celiac? Or celiac centers? the established Medical Centers have good basic info about Celiac disease.
  12. That's cause we have been enjoying them here! Oklahoma has had a few quakes that have been felt here. Hub & I wimped out & went to bed one night. M said the house shook. I woke up because the ceiling fan was making wobbly noises. I turned it off then back on & it was fine. The next one we were having some good thunder so we didn't notice...
  13. Here's Frito Lays list for the US. They have some they test and some they don't test for gluten but do not add gluten to. Open Original Shared Link Don't rely on those programs for the final word on product ingredients. They are good for suggestons. You still need to read the ingredients as they can change.
  14. Its gluten-free if you buy the gluten-free kind. But...about 10% of Celiacs react to it the same as wheat. It is recommended that you not it eat it until fully healed. I'm not sure what the recommendation is for non-Celiac inrtolerance but I would think it is easy enough to avoid it for 6 months to a year.
  15. Might be good for you when you are back in school. Chili on the bottom, then apple sauce, cornbread on the top! Roda has a thread about a lunch bag that keeps stuff warm or cold. Works well for her school lunches.
  16. WOW! I'm loving Yoplait!
  17. Trying to rationalize that I will use it! What a great device!
  18. Just a CYA statement. They have some products that they test for gluten-free, like Chex. Those are the ones they will label as gluten-free. It says they will disclose any gluten in the ingredients. that is about the best you can get from a mainstream food company.
  19. My son's got tested using "family history" as the reason. If your mom really wants to be tested, she could get some info from the different Celiac Centers' websites and show that to the doc.
  20. This strainer: Open Original Shared Link There are cheaper ones ( I have the cheap one). I didn't throw mine out because we only used it for fruit & veggie & beans & hamburger.
  21. I have this thing, I don't know what it's called. It looks like a mesh or screen door screen made into a bowl shape . I push the thawed spinach into it very hard. It like a colander. I'll see if I can find a pic.
  22. I don't have any right now, but doesn't Yoplait say " gluten free" on the container?
  23. I buy McCormick or Penzys spices. They don't have wheat in them. Plain spices are usually just spices.
  24. What are you feeding your cat? Raw chicken? Got a funny image of you letting some mice loose in the laundry room and putting the cat in.
  25. Joy! This might be a great idea for my 15 yr old. No shampoo seems to get his hair clean. Do you just sprinkle on a wet head? Mix it with water in a cup? I'm sure he will roll his eyes but if his hair looks better, his friends that are girls will tell him!
