  1. These are cracking me up! If you only use Rice Chex for dog treats....you might be Celiac.
  2. That's it! Thanks! I will not use the zest if I make them. They got bitter the next day & i think zest might be why. I think its very convienent to not have a working oven. Can't have anyone over. I think I thought about disabling mine last year.
  3. It says fresh Moz is low sodium. I think we are getting an argument for lasgna. Except SIL only does dairy if chocolate is envolved. I'm hoping they will be eating with her family & just come over to visit. Honestly, Bro is not on my good list right now. My dad has prostate cancer. My mom has an aortic valve that barely funtions with a 50% chance...
  4. I got 82 rsults for the Hoff. What she does is ask for a PB &J at the end of a meal she doesn't eat. Similiar to J who can be a bit picky. And if my BIL doesn't like it, he can take the $1000+ my parents have given them over the last 3 years for a new oven and buy one! Then invite everyone over there! I am happy to bring my own plate...
  5. Did you know that if you search this sight for "sweet potato" there are 1610 posts about them? (1611 now). I was trying to find the one Jess gave me last year. You put them in a crockpot with orange juice. They were very good. I am having a devil of a time figuring out Thanksgiving this year. My mother is supposed to eat extra low sodium. The...
  6. Maybe you should email Mary Kay. I thought they had some gluten-free stuff but I don't use them so I might be rembering wrong.
  7. Get actual paper or email copies of all the tests run. You may have to get your mom to do that because you are not 18. Then you can see what was tested for. celiac isn't an allergy but they could have done those blood tests.
  8. Well! That's poopy! ( trying to watch my language). I'm going to Walmart tomorrow & I'm going to look, too. Some of those apples have enough wax to coat a snowboard! Not the local growers, but their apples don't last until next Sept.
  9. So.....don't leave us in suspense What did you do?
  10. Might be in teeny print on the stickers? Will take a magnifying glass or ask an 8 yr old to read it.
  11. My son who was 17 at the time, had an IGA of 18. I consulted an expert and he said it was still high enough that he should test positive if he was. Also, since he didn't have any symptoms we didn't need to pursue it farther. none of his tests were even at the high end of normal. He grew taller than expected, iron, etc were good ( he doesn't eat a lot of...
  12. If this sounds odd, it because I merged it from another thread. Really it is all one idea. Carry-on!
  13. I have an 18 yr old boy who is 6"1' tall. He barely ate meat until he was about 11. He got that big on a lot of peanut butter, chocolate milk & cheese for protein.
  14. Feel free! These little guys should have arms!
  15. I was wondering about these washers from the non-gluten perspective. My kids like to eat apples and I prefer to leave the peel for the fiber. Trying to get the coating off some apples, even organic, is hard. Also, we had the cantelope listeria problem (not at my house). Apparently, its very hard to get germs off a cantelope because of all the little divots...
  16. If I catch a recipe in the Tech section shortly after posting, I don't put the moved thing on it. I find those irritating, too. If its been there awhile & is getting answers, then I feel I have to explain where it went to the folks following it. Here's my pet peeve: Mini-trolls. People who sign up for 5 minutes to post something , usually in...
  17. I made this. Yum! I only used about a pound of fresh spinach & wilted it in the microwave. Didn't want it to taste too spinachy. Probably could have used 1/2 lb more for our tastes. I just used jarred marinara sauce. Hub wants me to add ital sausage either to the sauce or crumbled finely in the dumpling.
  18. What's an ultrasonic food washer? Sounds a bit high tech for Walmart!
  19. Happy Birthday!
  20. If a veg or a vegan accidentally got some chicken broth in the rice, it would not make them sick. If the kitchen made a salad and put chicken on it and the waitress took it off, they would never know and be fine. Restaurants don't have to be as careful. They can cook a veggie burger right where they just toasted a bun. That said, a lot of veggie restaurants...
  21. Not familiar with it. Read the ingredients. Most salad dressing is OK but I read theingredients.
  22. That title hooked me in right there! So I think I want the new improved screwed up recipe. I think you should say they are poached (?) first then crisped in the broiler? Does that sound nicer? Sometimes you make a recipe and you wonder " on what planet it only cooked for 10 minutes or didn't need more liquid!"
  23. Hey fellow KC person. Do you have a copy of the blood work & biopsy pathology report. Mine didn't list Marsh either. But it clearly said Celiac. Post exactly what the labs say. Someone here may be able to help.
  24. Pick a company with one you like and email them about the ingredients. See what they say.
