  1. in the US, there is no legal definition for gluten-free. There is no law that they have to tell you that other things are made in the same facility or on the same machines. As an example: Below is an explanation of how Rudis keeps the gluten & gluten-free bread separate. Some places have separate lines, some just clean between batches. The only...
  2. The time to ask about the gluten free status of things at the dentist is a few weeks before the appointment. The person to ask is one of the assistants. They will call or email to company of the product. The only things I have heard of with gluten at the dentist office is the Crest Pro Health rinse and some of the stuff they use for impressions. I...
  3. Once again.... Who is writing this? Are they a Celiac researcher from one of the Celiac Centers? A random guy on the internet who writes well? Are they selling something? I don't have the patience to search the website to try to see if they have any valid credentials. I would think If its Columbia or Mayo, that would be listed & easy to find...
  4. Does sound like a bug. Hope you feel better soon.
  5. In the US, there have been commercials for at least a year for Chex talking about it being gluten-free. We have a local pizza chain that advertises it's certified gluten-free pizza often on TV.
  6. Probably picked up some odd virus or germ from those strange Arizona plants. seems like 3 lbs is always water weight.
  7. In the US, something containing gluten-free oats can be considered gluten free. If your sensitive to something other than gluten, you should read the ingredients. Just as you would if you were sensitive to corn or soy or dairy.
  8. Keep the pain meds on schedule for 24 hours at least. They work better if you don't have a gap. My son said the ice packs helped a lot.
  9. Get copies of all the labs and the procedure reports and pathology reports (biopsy report). Its amazing how many people have reported that they were told they were negative but when they read the report they found out they were positive. Its also possible it isn't Celiac. You could be gluten intolerant which wouldn't show up on most of these tests...
  10. Sure! Free to my friends! Do not be alarmed that they taste like chocolate & slightly resemble M&Ms.. And the M printed on them stands for the name of the drug "Miracle Mammaries" Not trying to make fun of you Alice. Just want to point out that you can say anything but it doesn't make it true.
  11. OK! "I have this great product that makes you grow perky boobs and eliminates wrinkles and cellulite. I have sold it to 2000 satisfied customers." If I put that on a slick website or TV commercial, then it must be true?
  12. Oh, Bonnie! Thank you for sharing this. Good luck with the doctors today.
  13. What a great idea!
  14. Have you seen the actual pathology report of the biopsies? If not, get a copy. It could be enlightening.
  15. The info on this thread is 2 years old which can make it ancient history in grocery store time! Re- check for the most current info & always check the ingredients. You never know when some food company will think it's a swell idea to add gluten.
  16. What Shroomie said! Honestly. I could get an actor to say he's a doctor and talk on the internet. Take the money you were going to waste on this snake oil and buy gluten-free Chex cereal & Progresso soups for the food pantry.
  17. That doesn't sound like it applies to restaraunt food - Just prepackaged.
  18. My 18 year old recommends a PB milk shake. These are more filling then a plain one. He prefers choc ice cream & I prefer vanilla. Ice cream, PB & milk in the blender. For teeth extractions - eat with a plastic spoon ( he said metal hurts)
  19. We're really nosey. Maybe we do want to know.
  20. In the top right corner is a google search for this site. Put in beijing. looks like there are several previous discussions, some recent.
  21. Just because you react to a product does not mean the company is lying about gluten. There are plenty of things to disagree with you artificial sugar, colors, flavors, etc. I have a son who does not have Celiac but Crystal LIght gives him stomach pain & bloating. We suspect the sweetener.
  22. I emailed my priest. He didn't need a doctor note. The Catholic church only allows the very low gluten host. Some other religions might allow completely rice ones.
  23. Lemons helped me. Get some lemon drops, I think they should be gluten-free. Its really the smell of lemon that helps the morning sickness in some people. Low blood sugar makes the nausea worse. the nausea makes your blood sugar low! ACk! For me fruity stuff worked better than some things. fruit smoothies, fruit, candy. Like Prickly said, you...
  24. Forgot to say: Read the ingredients. You never know when it will be fashionable to add gluten to a product.
  25. All cheese, including blue cheese is fine. Except there are a few fancy cheeses with Porter ( beer) or beer in them or soaked in. They will say on the ingredients. There has been much discussion about blue cheese because originally the mold was grown on wheat. It is very seldom done that way. Maybe a expensive foreign blue cheese may have had the mold...
