  1. I don't know if you ate a big bar or one of the little Halloween type ones. The amount of barley you may have consumed was probably not much. Its not like its mostly barley its just a small amount. Maybe not enough to really get you going. Not saying you should eat it! Even a small amount isn't good. But it isn't like you ate a wheat flour roll. ...
  2. Myabe if you knew someone with a peanut allergy? They wouldn"t have eaten even one of those chips if it was made with peanut oil. If pB&J sandwiches were served, they wouldn't touch anything the others touched & would probably leave. When you have kids (everyone under 22 & some adult males)serving themselves food, who knows what might be...
  3. SSG- Happy to see you again! Thought you were off having a happy exciting life! Sorry to hear about the Cushings! I think illnesses should be spread evenly throughout the population! That way everyone can have one! And nobody gets 2 or more! Would make people more sympathetic, too. Coming on here and posting about your disease may help someone...
  4. I think you are exactly right. If you can't eat first, don't eat. I hadn't thought about washing off the fruit or carrots, that's a good idea.
  5. Give him 2 choices : would you like chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans or pasta and a salad? Just like you do with small kids. Makes them feel they got to make a choice but what they choose works for you, too. If he says, " Pick up a pizza." just smile and say saddly "Yeah.....I wish...... Well, chicken or pasta?" If he did pick up a...
  6. The best way to determine if a product is gluten free is to read the label. Read the ingredients. Most dairy products are gluten-free - just read the ingredients to be sure.
  7. Bone Fish and Cheeseburgzer in Paradise are the same company - at least they were. Saw your post & decided we will probably go there tomorrow night. It's 1 mile from my house! Heard the mango salsa on the fish is yummy!

    ARCHIVED Panera

About 2 years ago, I got an email reply from them. They listed some things without gluten ingredients. They also said that, if its a store that does the mixing - not just the baking (some stores mix the dough for others to bake)Flour is everywhere. He suggested it might not be good for me to even get coffee.
  11. I'm curious....do you call for everything you eat? Frozen corn? Apples? Milk? The other brands of cheese you ate before? You must spend a lot of time calling and e-mailing. In a factory that processes milk products, where would the gluten be? If you think they are sneaking it in, they wouldn't tell you, would they? Do you understand that some companies...
  12. Some places won't say something is gluten-free because they don't test it. In the US and Canada, they have to list the ingredients. Read the ingredients.
  13. Honestly, WF and the ingredients would be a better place to check. That said, I have only seen gluten in " beer" cheeses.
  14. this thread is 2 years old. Might be more recent info. Most coffee doesn't but it can be hard on your stomach.
  15. He gave you one of those expensive vacuum cleaners?
  16. HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY!!!!

(I see it was on tue.) :)

  17. Until you choose to go gluten free and do it, you won't know if you will feel better. If you get sores, gas & bloating eating gluten, and that is not a feeling you like, stop cheating and eating gluten! After you have been really gluten-free for a few months, then you can tell if you need to eliminate something else.
  18. Please! Hub would love the coconut milk ones , rolled in coconut! He is a little coconutty!
  19. So sad for Lucy! I have many days I feel like a miserable old cat, myself!
  20. Sorry you feel bad. Looks like you learned the first rule of eating out: Thou shalt not eat at a restaurant that doesn't not know what gluten or wheat free means. Many places put pancake batter in the scrambled eggs to make them fluffy. The shredded type hash browns can have a litle flour added to get them to stick together. If you got fried eggs...
  21. It appears they put the wrong ice cream in some of the small containers. Wheat Allergy Alert: Wells Enterprises, Inc. Posted: 27 Oct 2011 01:55 PM PDT Oct. 27, 2011 Wells Enterprises, Inc. is recalling a limited quantity of
  22. I think the key to these things is, don't worry about waking up completely. Go home and nap right away for a couple of hours. Sleep in the car. When you wake from the 2 hour nap, alot of the foggyness is gone. I have found this for most people, there are always a few that jump off the table and walk home or are sleepy all day.
  23. I think you may have a real problem with marijuana. Smoking it 10-15 times a day and continuing to smoke it, even if you are having issues breathing, seems like a drug addiction. Try giving it up and see if you feel better. Will probably take a few weeks to feel better and get it out of your system.
  24. I don't know how likely. I haven't seen all his tests or anything but....it seems likely he has something else. He may also have Celiac. Encourage him and the docs to look for more than just Celiac. I don't think Celiac usually causes blisters in the esophagus. Good luck.
