  1. I have heard that a little milk cuts the acid in the coffee. I couldn't drink it black it would give me an immediate pain in my stomach, even with food (probably didn't have any dairy in the meal). Went to awards banquet catered thing & they brought out little chocolate pots filled with flavored whipped creams. I though I would suffer for that treat...
  2. I feel like our ancestors made use of every bit of the animal, wasting nothing, so we can too. But my boys have friends that can't have anything with gelatin listed (in a lot of candies) because it could be from pork.
  3. I don't remember whether she has supportive relatives or father, but maybe she could could visit for a day or a week? She can be bored with new scenery & someone new to talk to. Maybe they will have a museum they can take her to (they usually have free wheelchairs)
  4. Check this thread out if you haven't.
  5. Darn that internet! I'll just answer afew things. It can get overwhelming to try to take it all in at once. #1 & 5: New pans, etc issue - I didn't get new silverware, knives, etc. I think that metal & glass can be washed well. I did use a little vinegar around the part where the wooden handle meets the metal just to get any crumbs out...
  6. My son was trying to play frisbee at the senior picnic. He said he had never seen a more pathetic group of frisbee players. We didn't realize that Bob & his cousins - Rob, Robbie, Bobby & Bobbie were playing. That explains alot. Do Bob & his cousins play other sports, too?
  7. This just occurred to me that this is basically vegan cooking. There are websites for vegan baking. This just occurred to me because I had a vegan carrot cake this weekend & was wishing I had a piece now. We have a bakery here that is gluten-free & vegan. Somethings work well, some not so good.
  8. Have you tried using the google search in the top right corner to search this site? I bet we have had recipes like this before.
  9. Sounds like she is just going to be bored. She will have to find a way to amuse herself if she refuses everything you offer. If she starts whining, she can whine in her room with the door closed. Yes she has some medical problems but so do alot of other kids her age. You really should go to the library & check for what is available in computers...
  10. That's great. What you described doesn't sound like a corporate policy or procedure (like PF Changs). The corporate gluten-free menu does not specify special plates. It mentions that they may not clean the grill & you may get cc'ed fries. Probably depends on your individual resturaunt.
  11. Hi, Kiwi! We have a chatting about all kinds of stuff on the Tickle Me thread in GAb Chat ( at the bottom of the list for some reason ). Good place if you feel chatty.
  12. Honestly, Dear, if you would like to use a fake name I have thought of some other good ones. Eustacia Veneticia Esmeralda Sunflower Rainbow Bob
  13. Not orange but darker & a bit brownish. At this point in my life, it depends on how long since I last colored. There is a pic of me on my profile. And, yes.... That is my real butt.
  14. Are you still seeing the yellow flowers? I have had a queen in a purple dress up for a couple of days.
  15. Isn't Bahrain one of those countries where everyone gets a share of the oil money? Too bad I'm not from there. You have a very good likeness of me in my current av. My hair is more straight & flat. That's about the only dif.
  16. And don't ever just use the letter K instead of the whole OK or I think you are talking to me? OK? Hub & sis call me K
  17. Here's a secret- The G is the start of my last name
  18. I'm sure they can. Have you seen the ways they mangle "Karen"?
  19. Open Original Shared Link Lists watermelon & grapefruit as high in Lycopene. Avocado is good on a salad or sandwich. I like it chopped up with a bit of salt & lime juice and corn chips or on a corn tortilla. Add olive oil to foods you are eating for some healthy fats. Nuts or Peanut butter if you can.
  20. I started to pour maple syrup in the celiac disease drawer to make this sticky, but my son stopped me & said I didn't understand. I sent a note to the "Boss" that you all are asking about this. I don't know if its doable or desired. It has been a fun post. We could do it every couple of months and get different people but I imagine most of the...
  21. When they did the endoscopy, did they take samples of the small intestine? Ask to see the pathology report on those samples. Ask how many were taken. They need to take at least 6 samples because Celiac is not easy to see on the scope camera. Celiac cannot be diagnosed with a colonoscopy. Might still be a good idea because you might have something...
  22. I suppose you could have these things if they are a normal response to something like eating potato chips and soda all day. With a reasonablly healthy diet, this is not normal. Its not how the parts were made to function.
  23. This is so true! We also need a name for Glutenfreemanna. If they do not care to share a first name choice, I, the Psilly Queen, will be happy to bestow names upon them. Taking suggestions.... I'm assuming both are females so: Eunice Moon Unit Gaga Wido Latrine
  24. That's a great list. For the brain fogged or child distracted - the countries that product is gluten-free in are listed. A product might be gluten-free in the US but not in Australia (for example).
  25. What a bummer! Our libraries have computer & video games you can play. Even tournaments or game (board & video) nights/afternoons. Don't know if your do that. Is swimming really out? For some injuries, swimming is a good activity because the water takes alot of the load off the bones. She is not a baby. I would talk to her about finding...
