Would be nice if you knew the time. As Queen, I decree that it must be filmed & put on YouTube. The film must feature Lisa prominently. -

We eat it at my house all the time. I do have an issue with too much salad. Especially in the first 6 months gluten-free. Try eating it by itself or try the plain turkey, not smoked. -

I had a 17 lb terrier that jumped up on the kitchen table and ate the whole back half of an iced angel food cake. He did it so that, when we came in the garage door, the side we could see looked great. Took awhile until we noticed. He didn't get sick either. -

I am thinking about getting Cooper a poodle. He needs a dog that is smart and will make him feel safe. I have noticed that when we have the dog next door over (who is sooo clever if he used his mind for good not evil, he would cure cancer) my dog isn't afraid of thunder, slippery floors extra. -

I tell my dog all the time. "Don't worry. We'll be back. We are leaving you with all our stuff." He still seems to think it is amazing when we manage to make it home without having been eaten by wild cats or getting lost. -

Yup! You win? -
It is probably corn starch but you have to call the company & ask. I find the name brands usually know if they are gluten-free but don't have as much luck with the generics when I call. There are some generics that have started putting gluten-free in big friendly letters on the box. Probably getting tired of us all calling.

In the US you have a right to copies of your med recs. I don't know in So Africa where you live. Can you call the office and ask to have the "reference range" for the test read to you. Tell them a number doesn't mean anything unless you know what number is "normal". -
ARCHIVED Celiac Testing And Insurance
kareng replied to mybellemichelle's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
OK...cost.. One set was $190 & one $335. The first was $335 & he ran a "celiac panel" plus the ones I gave him from The Celiac Center at U of Chicago. The second, cheaper one, had a lot less extra bill padding test. He just ordered the ones by name from the Celiac center. I think the labs run alot of nonsense to make a bigger charge. The... -

Do the Aldi corn flakes have Malt in them? That seems to show up in cereals that seem like they should be gluten-free. Found this: Open Original Shared Link Milled Corn, Sugar, Salt, Malt Syrup, High Fructose Corn Syrup. Vitamins and Minerals: Sodium Ascorbate (Vitamin C)Reduced Iron, Niacinamide, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B6)Riboflavin (Vitamin... -
ARCHIVED Celiac Testing And Insurance
kareng replied to mybellemichelle's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I have United & they paid for the blood work and the endo & colonscopy. I had to pay my deductable/co-pay. This differs by your actual coverage. You have to go to the approved docs and use the approved lab. The doc office has to give them the right codes (reasons for the tests). They also paid for my boys to have the blood work based on family... -

I put the PB on the pills so he will take them. Tried to put these "gelcaps" in a piece of cooked burger. He carefull spit the pill out. & licked it. We imagined he was thinking "Good burger. Just whatch out for the wierd hard bits". -

How'z that? Peter is just getting the bad stuff over in one week so he doesn't need to worry about it for the rest of the year. Maybe it is sick pet time. Cooper stepped on something and his pad got infected. They gave him some great pain meds. Apparently, he has a PB deficiency. He must have 4 antibiotics pills a day. -
I thought about using his services until I saw him in person. He just didn't seem "right". Not a scientific reason - just a feeling. That, paired with the fact that he doesn't publish, makes me leary. The gluten-free diet made all the difference for me.

Most salad dressing are fine. Kraft is a company that will clearly label wheat, rye or barley in any product. That makes it a bit easier. -

ARCHIVED New Celiac With Two Questions- Corn And Oatmeal
kareng replied to TexasJenn's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Should have added: Most gluten-free foods do not say gluten-free on them. Meat, fruit, beans, veggies, most ice cream, dairy products, etc. Just bread, cookies, pasta, etc. Try sone of the things you put on pasta on brown rice or quinoa. -
ARCHIVED New Celiac With Two Questions- Corn And Oatmeal
kareng replied to TexasJenn's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Take the oatmeal back or give it to the food pantry. Quaker will tell you it is not gluten-free. Oats are harvested, transported & processed on the same equipment as wheat and usually contains some wheat. You have to get certified gluten-free oats. That said, it is usually not recommended that you eat oast until you have healed. About 10% of Celiacs... -

It's about 7 weeks of looking at orders and drawings and getting the parts from the warehouse. The company makes parts for forklifts. They wanted to give a kid from the engineering strand at the high schools a summer job. Pays $10.40 per hour so it's better than the frozen yogurt place. -
ARCHIVED Are These Symptoms Of Gluten Withdrawal?
kareng replied to ericsnow's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Have you tried using the Google search feature in the top right corner? I put in "gluten withdrawl" and got a lot of discussions about it that we have had before. Just keep an eye on the dates if they are recommending a product as the info on gluten-free status can change over the years. -
