  1. Fiber & politics! Are you still speaking? What a poet!
  2. Jess- Hub loved the ham & bean soup, too. He used the Frank's hot sauce. If the scientist thing doesn't work out, maybe you could be personal chef? I think I have about $24.47 in my purse.
  3. What is the name of the product?
  4. Congrats to Skeeter! That was a lot of work for her mom!
  5. You don't have to court my boys to borrow thier tools! That sounded a bit naughty!
  6. That's funny. With the exception of my dad, all the engineers in my family are great cooks - 2 sons, BIL, 2 SILs, brother. Just saw the grid at the end of the recipes!
  7. My mom would have made it the same way but without the green pepper, cilantro, paprika, celery, carrots, garlic...anything with flavor.
  8. I made this today. Used Kitchen Basics veg broth. Came out delicious. Cooked too fast so I will re- heat it for dinner. Thanks, Jess!
  9. My grandma made this for us. We put maple syrup on it. Also called it " Moosh".
  10. I don't know how old she is so that may make a difference. Maybe you should not have stuff in your house that are hard for her to resist. I know there were a couple of things we just didn't have in the house when I first went gluten-free so I wasn't tempted or feel sad. To this day we don't have big bags of gluten pretzells only small individual bags...
  11. I was looking for this quote! Where did it go? Just realized it is from last year!

    ARCHIVED Lies?

He is young. There is some growing up still for a 20 year old guy. Good luck, Hon!
  13. Go to the stores and write down the phone number and lot number on the genetics. Go home and call on them. I had one generic that was gluten-free but I forget which one. I think it may have been Walgreens generic if you have those stores near you. But check.

    ARCHIVED Lies?

Is he on the gluten-free diet? If so, then he isn't getting any gluten to cause anything except an occasional accident. If he isn't but is diagnosed with celiac disease, he has a lot of psychological issues besides lying.
  15. Yes. I watch which cup the priest put the piece of host on so I don't take that one. I then only take the wine if I can be close to the front of the line. Then I only get the smallest drop possible. I have heard that some Celiacs have their own cups that are handed directly to them but I'm not sure of the logistics.
  16. Hey... I think it sounds great! You just have to work out the balance or imbalance to everyones satisfaction.
  17. Good for you! I am sitting here wearing my " hot girl glasses" and flannel shirt. I must move to Portland!
  18. Name brand Clariton told me it was gluten-free. Walmart brand told me there generic isn't.
  19. Thanks for the edit, Shroomie! That was what I meant to type!
  20. Vinegar is distilled. In the US and in BBQ sauce, it's usually from apples. Think all BBQ sauce probably has vinegar. Open Original Shared Link Publix has a gluten-free list but mesquite isn't on it.
  21. Did you darling MIL drive you?
  22. Why don't you email them and ask? Don't make it more than 1 page. Tell them the GI has never heard of Celiac. It's a place for Celiac so they should be able to help.
  23. Maybe you should be responsible for the food you and the little one eat. Buy it and fix it. Fix it for everyone or just you and child. Have her son talk to her about it. Gluten free for dummies is an easy book to read, but that assumes she would spend the time. Another thought is that now that you and your hub are a family, maybe you could stay home...
