  1. We don't have REI in the middle of the US. Will look for it. Could get my bro in Oregon or Russell to send it to me. I will look into it. Thanks.
  2. All you laundry experts- Matt (14) went camping 2 weeks ago with Boy Scouts. It was 15 F but so windy it was -10F. He thought the weather was fine. We can start another thread about if the kid is having mental issues. My real question is: how do we get the camp fire smoke smell out of his good ( read as expensive) ski coat? I can't use detergent...
  3. I think the only issue with a soda would be barley. I have not found any mainstream US ones with gluten. I have heard that small manufactured root beers or sodas might not be gluten-free. Our local specialty root beer/ soda maker is gluten-free. Barley malt sugar could be an issue with a small specialty soda maker but not likely.
  4. The starlings stayed in the trees for about 15 very loud minutes. Suddenly, it went silent and they flew away. Maybe just waiting for a freshly washed car to go by.
  5. Ditto! Love Kraft!
  6. I eat them too. I shouldn't cause they aren't really good for you, but I do. If you look at the list, you will see that very few flavors of chip s have wheat flour on them.
  7. There are hundreds of birds in the trees out back! They are so noisy, I can hear them in e house, over the noise of the wash machine & TV! Anyone remember Alfred Hitchcock?
  8. Sounds yummy. Not my mom's recipe - light colored dried beans, salt & pepper & ham.
  9. We were typing at the same time so I didn't see this. You have to do what you need to do to keep your child safe. If they were setting lit cigarettes and medications out where your child could get them, is that Ok? No, you or your hub would be all over it. Your nuts, accept it!
  10. I just say not to bring anything. That leaves me to do it all but it's easier. You will have to be forceful with your side of the family. Your hub must deal with his side, particularly his mom. It will be harder next year. She will be able to grab food or accept it from others but not old enough to understand why they are eating stuff she can't have...
  11. Not going anywhere. Just worried I might be related to Gee Eff.
  12. My mom used to make some sort of beans and ham. It was awful! You might be able to make it better. You would probably use some seasoning. Do chickens eat ham? What about the cats?
  13. Bummer about the BF. They have these really thin plastic cutting boards that don't take up much space. And if the gluten eaters get ahold of it, they don't cost much.. I got some 2 for $1 at the Dollar Store. I also use them to put on the counter when fixing food. Might want to get a "camp box" that you can lock.
  14. Ham and potatoes - scalloped, baked, hash browns Pasta salad Green salad Pasta with veggies and ham - simple olive oil type sauce We have a lot of ham left but I have 17 year old ham enthusiast to eat it.
  15. That will give you a tummy ache, for sure.
  16. I have relatives in Ohio.....
  17. Just hanging out, waiting for the gluten-free brownies to cool. Then I am putting a thick peppermint icing, then cool the icing. Then a layer of melted chocolate. Am making these because M loves them when my neighbor makes them. And, since he doesn't love ham, I thought he should have something he really likes. Wuld put them on the screened porch to...
  18. The short answer is " no". Even a crumb starts the immune response. Even if it doesn't bother you at first, it is destroying your intestines. There really is no way to taste then spit every bit of food out. Some stays in your mouth. Sorry.
  19. Sounds like he's embarrassed or sumpin. I would make a point every time I saw him to smile big and say hello. But then, I'm evil like that.
  20. A CHRISTMAS NOTE FROM MOM
  21. Love it! Your ex pays you rent! Are you a slum lord? I think a nice Merlot.
  22. Not wearing his cape? Not even his glasses? Mods, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think this forum allows those type of pics. No matter how skinny the nakey person might be. ( The last one had on a Santa hat)
  23. Wouldn't want it to go to waste!
