  1. The thing that worries me here is the " starvation diet" comment. I don't think you are trying to starve them. Are your kids normal sized & weight? Make sure they are getting the vitamins, proteins and fats needed for healthy growth. Maybe you could write down what they eat & aprroximate amounts for a few days and show the doc. I had a kid...
  2. Maybe he didn't mean the kids to make? No muss, no fuss for mom to make? Try Chebe bread stick mix ( about $2.75 ). Add some Italian seasoning to the powder. Then mix up. Roll little pieces like a Play doh snake. Cook part way, then paint on olive oil and sprinkle garlic salt & garlic powder! We loved them. My hub had a great time make the...
  3. Krys, this is a really old post! Info probably has changed over the years.
  4. Mellissa, if it runs in the family, a little medical help might be a good idea. From what I have seen on here, it can take a year or so for neuro problems to go away. Getting vitamin levels where they should be helps a lot. Do something silly everyday with your kids. It really helps. Might I suggest ping pong balls and plastic spatulas or hair brushes...
  5. I'm not sure you need anymore sugar or caffiene, young lady!
  6. Try these cookies. The Pb ones freeze well. My boys eat them straight from the freezer.
  7. I found that just being diagnosed with a life long condition is a stress and a bit depressing. The stress of being gluten-free can get to you. It's extra work and worry even in the best of circumstances. You can be going along fine, then suddenly, something stupid, like reading labels in a busy grocery will make you sad. I try to find humor in it if I...
  8. Its not a good pan if it's peeling off bits of Teflon! If the bread isn't real great, here's what we do. Slice it, put a bunch of olive oil, garlic salt, garlic powder & pram or Asiago on it. Put on a clean cookie sheet ( or foil on old sheet). Toast til crunchy. This will make all but the worst bread edible. Even my gluten lovers like this...
  9. Drink enough tequila and you can't eat. What happened to all the ham based stuff in your freezer? Nuke something.
  10. Turns out my baby was just goofing with his bro's welding mask. Baby M was building wood & metal shelves. Big bro J will weld the parts that need it. Love it when they learn practical skills.
  11. You might want a new pan anyway. Scratched Teflon means you are eating some Teflon. Not usually considered healthy for gluten or non- gluten eaters.
  12. Makes good sense. You are really busy right now. My baby is learning to weld today!
  13. They don't sell it around here. I will have to break down and order some.
  14. A soak with baking soda and a wash with baking soda, 2 dryer sheets and an overnight outside....no more smoke smell!
  15. When I was in Catholic school, we learned that you can baptize dying babies or others if there is no priest there to do it. I think that in times of war and repression, you do the best you can.
  16. Ok maybe only 72. You need a joke: Trevor's New Year's Eve party was an annual occurrence with numerous guests arriving.
  17. I was just thinking this. Hub and I tried this 110 years ago when dating but found we really didn't want to be apart.
  18. I noticed that you had a drive from the airport. Maybe a quick grocery stop for PB or lunch meat? Make a small list and make grocery shopping an aerobic event.
  19. We will stay home for New Years. Thinking of making lasagna. J has a party not far away. The parents of the party are the most over- protective, smothering parents.
  20. We got it and I have been eatingi it for days. Maybe something else about it is bothering you? My hub cut ours on our gluten-free cutting board, gluten-free bowls, etc. No gluten bread or anything around it cause " Hell hath no fury like Mom if she can't eat the leftover ham!"
  21. Something to do with your snow. Open Original Shared Link
  22. Have you tried the Lundberg wild rice blends? We really like them. They have a nutty flavor. Really good with a stir fry or by it's self. Sprinkle a little Parm on it. Not so good for soup because it's hearty and flavorful.
  23. It's in the machine with a bunch of baking soda. Not sure why I am bothering. Just remembered he is camping in a few weeks.
  24. Duh! I was thinking of putting it in a plastic tub with baking soda. Wash it with soda! Duh! I did kinda like the idea that to save a $100 coat, would need a $350 plane ticket to the REI by Jess.
  25. have her talk to the priest. Taking the wine is considered the same as the host. If her church doesn't have wine every week for everyone, maybe she can arrange something with the priest ( a little paper cup of wine). This makes me mad, too. Jesus was poor and probably ate bread made of other grains most of the time. But the Pope doesn't take my calls...
