  1. Both boys will be working to about 1 a.m. at the fireworks stand. On the 5th, the firework stand owners have a picnic and a big field to shoot the fireworks in. They hire a really nice professional fireworks show. You haven't seen a fireworks show until you lay back in your chair and the ashes rain down on you.
  2. I try! (said very humbly with downcast eyes)
  3. The things you get into! Maybe it's the mold or bacteria that made the bread smell bad reacting with your skin. Good thing the kids didn't eat it. Hope your face is better quick!

    ARCHIVED Battle Plan

So... A non-refundable plane ticket is more important to your hub than your health. Well, at least you know where you stand. When I travel, I bring my own pan, fold-up colander for pasta, plastic cooking spoon, spatula. Maybe you can hit a grocery and get some food you and baby can fix and eat. Wash your pans right away and pack back in your room. ...

    ARCHIVED Battle Plan

I don't get why you would go back there so soon. A class reunion isn't that important. Let the hub go by himself. Just because someone is a relative, doesn't mean you have to visit if they have already proven to be hostile. Your hub shouldn't expect you to go and get hurt physically and mentally. It's his job to protect you. He should let his folks...
  7. Thanks for letting us know. I'm sorry for that Dx as I know it can be difficult. Keep us updated. I have been gluten-free for about 5 months and still have some issues so this worries me, too. Good luck!
  8. This is the response I just received from them. They are owned by Hidden Valley. Received June 18, 2010 hank you for contacting us. The FDA requires that we list the following allergens on our ingredient labels: 1. Egg 2. Soybean (excluding high refined oil) 3. Dairy 4. Peanut 5. Wheat (barley, rye, oats, or any source of gluten) 6. Fish 7...
  9. Odd. Isn't this the side of your family with all the GI issues? Maybe you were found on the doorstep?
  10. My hub used this "info" to get the coffeepot he has been wanting. One that grinds beans and then brews. Figured we weren't going to monitor every ingredient of every coffee bean ground in the machine at the grocery. Sometimes, good comes from this gluten-free nonsense.
  11. Is she normally a rude, evil or insensitive person? If yes, then you can't expect anything else from her. If no, maybe the fact that she doesn't live near you and deal with this regularly is the problem. Even my boys and hub forget sometimes or don't think about the ingredients. For most people, you think "cheese" & "yum" when you think of moz sticks...
  12. No. Click on my name or someone else.
  13. Just saw something on GMA about airline food. The FDA found that a lot of it was dangerous - not hot enough or cold enough, unclean prep, etc. Makes you glad that many airlines don't have gluten-free food.
  14. Whew! Thought maybe you were allergic to cotton, linen, rayon & polyester. Now that would be a dilemma!
  15. Not naked. Just no soap, lotion, deodorant, etc. You may keep the clothes - unless you find you are allergic to cotton......
  16. That sucks! (can I say that, cause it really does). Maybe you will have to go au naturale.
  17. Are you really 14? Wow, you are sounding more mature then me right now. I have a 14 year old boy who's trying to help me keep things straight. Anyway. Try to order books on gluten-free cooking from your library. You can see if they are worth buying or copy the 2 recipes you like. My favorite snacks are gluten-free pretzels & PB or almond butter...
  18. It does sound ridiculous. But the alternative is that you have really lost your mind. However, I remember reading about people with severe mental issues in an institution. They put them on a gluten-free diet and the majority did much better. Can't site it but I found it once, you could probably google it.
  19. Connie, I don't know much about fishsticks but years ago I bought them a few times and they were coated with dried potato not much if any flour. Maybe you should just skip the gluten or be gluten lite. Don't purposely eat stuff with gluten, but don't sweat the microscopic crumb like some of us must.
  20. That is too funny! I almost spit out the boxed wine I was drinking, laughing so hard! Duct tape is a wonderous invention!
  21. I found that sometimes it's easier to say it's an allergy. For people I don't need to or want to go into detail about. For example, at Wendys. Even the ones that don't speak much English understand bread allergy. Otherwise, I just say I have Celiac Disease. I have to eat gluten free which you may have heard of. Seems most people have seen that on the...
  22. Since I was a baby and my favorite toy was a stuffed kitty, I have wanted to be a cat lady. Sister was allergic so we couldn't have one but the neighborhood cats would wait for me to come out. Married a guy who's a bit scared of cats. I'm envious. . Dog likes cats so I'm hoping one might just "appear".
  23. I think the key to quick dinners is prepping ahead of time. When we grill hamburgers, we grill extras for the week and some chicken, too. You can cook rice ahead and reheat. Even baked potatoes can be cooked ahead. Crock pots are good to make extra. Even cut the veggies up ahead. Adding fresh fruit and a frozen veggie to a sandwich makes a healthy if...
  24. I'm am mesmerized by that kitty and his ears. I think he is the one doing the posts.
