    From another recent thread, here is a protocol I have seen several times for rehabilitating cast iron which has been in contact with gluten. It uses a self-cleaning oven.

    Depending on the extent of damage to your villi, you may have reactions during the recovery phase to foods that are gluten-free. The spices in the taco seasoning may have triggered it. I had extensive damage to my villi, and had random reactions during the first few weeks of my recovery. Four days is early in the process.

    On day 36 of the Toronto civic employees' strikes, we are told that tentative agreements have been reached, and ratification votes will be taken on Wednesday.     You can easily find your own posts. In the upper left it says "Logged in as:<<name>>". Click on the name to open your profile. Then you can use the Posts and Topics buttons in the middle to see recent activity (up to five items); or use the pull-down "Options" at the left to find all of your posts or topics, newest first.

    Planter's is a Kraft brand. If there is any gluten, they will clearly name the gluten grain in the ingredients list. If you don't see wheat, rye, barley or oats in the list, then they are not in the product.

During my recovery period, there were times when it did not matter what I ate--even plain rice--I would throw it back up. Canadian label rules are different from those in the US.     In the US, wheat must be clearly disclosed, but other sources of gluten can hide. It is possible that there was malted barley in the "natural flavour." From how you have spelled that word, I am going to guess that you are *not* in the US, so the rule on wheat may be different. Having said that, wheat in flavour is not common.     Okay, strike Wellness CORE off the list--it is a high protein formula. Merrick BG is also fairly high protein. Natural Balance is more typical in protein content, and the LID formulas are grain-free.

    We also use PAM Original regularly, and have never had a problem. The disclaimer you heard is just that. They don't test their ingredients, so they will not be responsible if a supplier's error causes them to receive and use an ingredient which has been accidentally contaminated. Even gluten-free specialty manufacturers don't usually "guarantee" gluten...

    The "Contains:" portion of the label is an allergen disclosure. It is optional, because the US labeling law (FALCPA) requires that the eight major allergens be clearly disclosed either in the main ingredient list, or in a separate "contains" list. You still have to read the ingredients list if there is no "contains" list. And even then, only wheat is...

    Most Johnsonville products are gluten-free, but there are exceptions. The beer brats are an obvious one--I think there might be a couple more. Yes, they have nitrates, MSG, meat, salt, and all sorts of other potentially evil gluten-free ingredients.

    Will somebody pass the Tostitos? I'm getting hungry reading this. I'm not a fan of gluten-free lists, because things change and the list is out of date five minutes after it is created. If there is nothing questionable in the ingredient list, then who cares about a list. I know I don't. Let's not make a big deal about nothing.

    Ibuprofen is the generic name for the active ingredient in the brand-name product Advil.
