  1. Here's a recipe for the strawberry cake from The Cake Mix Doctor, which uses a gluten-free yellow cake mix. I haven't made it but can swear by the flourless chocolate cake, which I'm going to make again for Easter. Open Original Shared Link
  2. This Flourless Chocolate Cake is really good: Open Original Shared Link
  3. Tonight is corned beef and cabbage, potatoes and carrots. I make it once a year and today's the day. Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!
  4. I use Suave shampoo and conditioner, Soft Soap for body wash (and at all my sinks) and Dawn dishwashing liquid.
  5. Hope it works for you. I love angel food cake. I've read that you can give brown rice flour a whirl in a blender to make it finer. I did some in a new larger capacity coffee mill I bought (not used for coffee). I know Authentic Foods makes a superfine brown rice flour but I haven't seen it around here. Taste of Home has some gluten-free recipes on...
  6. My doctor suggested it and I declined. I told him I was afraid I'd know more than she does...he probably figures I'm a smart ass. If she isn't familiar with celiac, I thought I'd probably be the recipient of ancient info, which was not up-to-date and besides, any questions I've had, I can get answers to right here or by picking up a book or googling a...
  7. Veggie beef soup pulled from my stash in the freezer. I need something light to go with the Multigrain Sandwich Bread I made today, which I know I'll pig out on when it's fresh. (recipe from Gluten-Free Baking Classics by Annalise Roberts). I'm testing something different by cooling the loaf upside down...I read that somewhere (maybe here ???). The...
  8. You're welcome...you'll have to let us know when you make it. Now I'm hungry for angel food cake!!!
  9. Here's one recipe from The Cake Mix Doctor (I need to order that cookbook as soon as I find a couple of more things to add to my wish list for free shipping) Fresh Strawberry Cake with Strawberry Cream Cheese Frosting Open Original Shared Link
  10. I have not yet tried making gluten-free angel food cake. Roben Ryberg has a recipe for angel food cake in The Gluten-Free Kitchen and Open Original Shared Link has a few recipes. Plus I saw this one on Taste of Home (it had great reviews): Gluten-Free Angel Food Cake Recipe Ingredients 1-1/2 cups egg whites (about 10)3/4 cup plus 1/2 cup sugar...
  11. Here's one from Valentine's Day...a bit more up-to-date perhaps Open Original Shared Link
  12. Baked chicken breast, Lundberg rice (Wild Blend) and fresh asparagus. And fresh strawberries later this evening
  13. I say the same thing.
  14. I can't open the link...
  15. I have garfava...but don't think I've opened it yet. So many flours, so many choices. lol
  16. Another thing you could try as a butter substitute is Earth Balance Buttery Spead, one of which is also soy-free. I like it just as well as butter.
  17. It might be called garbanzo bean flour.
  18. Are you able to use butter? I think it's lactose free but would contain casein. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong...
  19. Glad to hear you're feeling better. Yes to the cheese craving! No problem eliminating gluten but the cheese, wow! I've just started to have a bit more of it at almost a year gluten-free.
  20. Wine goes with everything!
  21. Do you have to change any of the other ingredients...like add more liquid, eggs or whatever? My granddaughter and I made the Lemon Lover's Cupcakes with Lemon Buttercream Frosting last weekend using BC yellow cake mix and they were really good (didn't contain pudding though).
  22. You might want to check out this thread where RiceGuy explains the attributes of different flours: http://www.celiac.co...en-free-flours/ I'm still trying to figure out all these things, too, so you're not alone. Usually recipes call for a mixture of flours and starches. Wish I was a food scientist to understand it. And yes, glutinous rice flour...
  23. The only problem with that recipe is that it makes 4 loaves...and I live alone. It sure does look good though. I don't have room in my fridge to store it considering the entire top shelf is filled with gluten-free flours that need to be refrigerated. Have you checked the King Arthur website? They have some gluten-free recipes...haven't tried the...

    ARCHIVED Weight Loss

Nate, so far the only brand I buy is Udi's. Have tried at least one really nasty one (it was Ener-G brown rice loaf) and then have been experimenting with baking my own. But I always keep a loaf of Udi's in the freezer when I absolutely must have a sandwich.
