I got a publix chicken Lemon Pepper rotisserie chicken last night, and before I bought it I asked about CC. The Deli girl assured me there was no cross contamination at all. I ended up eating it and it seemed fine until about 10pm...then I was awake with horrible cramps. Awful. Usually when I get glutened I get D and Nausea followed by C and severe...

I was undiagnosed when I had my son... he's healthy and happy and 2.5 now. I am currently pregnant with my 2nd baby, 7th pregnancy... I DID have a series of miscarriages but it was NOT due to my Celiac. I think you should relax and enjoy your pregnancy. Be aware, but not overly worried . -

My bed rest instructions per my hospital sheet yesterday is "No exercise, no lifting. May be up for restroom and meals". He also said that since my husband is deployed, I am alone, and I have to take care of my toddler, I should just use common sense. I am mostly home and down, I pick up the living room when the kid goes to bed and clean the kitchen...

I eat EXTREMELY healthy and even keep a food journal... My OB went through it with me to figure out why at 15 weeks I have gained 25 pounds! I went from a size 4/6 155 pounds at 6'1" and now I am 6'1" and 185. I'm not sure what to do with my body. I am eating well, the only thing I can think of is the bed rest is getting to me? I am so confused...

ARCHIVED Why Are Cosmetics So Frustrating?
K8ling replied to gfreecarboholic's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I had to switch to Bare Minerals after I got pregnant, clinique was giving me a rash... It's amazing, it has changed my life. Usually my breakouts are horrible and now I am thinking that it had something to do with the gluten in Clinique. My skin is so much better and the minerals provide surprisingly good coverage. I'll be sticking with that even after... -
That's so interesting!!! So it may not be alopecia but vitamin deficiency. But if you're on vitamins wouldn't that resolve it? Or would you not absorb enough?
-
I have NEVER heard of alopecia being a sign of celiac. I did, however, have hair fall out before I was diagnosed. However, it was determined it was NOT alopecia but was a major vitamin deficiency, Once the diet changed, it was a big deal and my whole body got better. My hair stopped falling out. I do hope it helps, but I wouldn't go gluten-free...

ARCHIVED How Far Ahead Do You Plan Your Meals?
K8ling replied to aeraen's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
When my husband is here I usually do about 2 weeks ahead. With him deployed and being pregnant I am MUCH more flexible than I usually am...for instance, today the baby wanted spaghetti so we made that and we'll do pizza tomorrow with the leftover sauce. Aside from that I'm not sure what to make. -
ARCHIVED Sometimes, The Term 'gluten Free' Makes Me So Frustrated
K8ling replied to T.H.'s topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I stick to things made in gluten-free facilities. The reality is, I need bread, I need peanut butter, I need things that may have tiny amounts of gluten in them. I have a toddler and I don't have the option to only eat veggies. It IS way uncool that no one regulates this though. -

ARCHIVED Things To Help Digestion?
K8ling replied to healinginprogress's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
They gave me Reglan to help with that- pregnancy was keeping me from digesting effectively. I'm cutting back on it now but it did help. Also, the promethazine is phenergan and it helps as well as with nausea. -
Thanks so much guys! My doctor scolded me as well, I have been so sick I am just eating whatever I can but I need to try to choke down some eggs. Lately I have been craving string cheese in the morning so tomorrow I am going to try some eggs and some cheese too. I also have some pistachios and almonds in my car now along with a larabar. Funny, I plan meals...

I miss Publix turkey sandwiches on their fresh baked bread. I miss french bread and cuban bread and hot cross buns and bacon egg cheese biscuits. I like knowing what is in my food though. I like knowing what goes into my body. I like being healthier.

What Does Everyone Eat For Breakfast?
K8ling replied to plumbago's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Now that I am pregnant, I eat a bowl of Udi's cranberry granola, I split an Udi's bagel with butter and strawberry with my son, and I have a cup of coffee. I also have been known to add a string cheese to the equation Before that it was usually yogurt, orange juice, and toast and butter (Udi's toast). -

Maybe it's just me but I was SO HAPPY to start feeling better. Does she LIKE being sick? I mean yeah it's hard but... once you start feeling like a human it is SO MUCH MORE WORTH IT! Once she feels better it's going to be amazing to her. You just gotta get her to realize that being sick is not life. Being well is life.
