  1. I was wondering why Planters nuts are said to be safe and are not produced in a gluten containing facility, yet when I look at their trail mixes, it says that those were processed in a gluten containing facility. Is it possible that their nuts and their trail mixes are produced in 2 separate facilities, the latter one containing gluten? I heard their nuts...
  2. I'm aware that Orville popcorn is gluten free in itself, but is it produced in a gluten free facility? I have problems with cross contamination.
  3. I am so sorry to hear of your health problems, love2travel. Mine are trivial compared to yours. Yes, I don't have a lot of faith in doctors these days. I try to get 2nd opinions. I can't imagine the amount of pain you must go through...I literally felt handicapped when I had this slipped disk. Best of luck to you and hope that you feel better very soon
  4. I decided not to take my chances with the Bertolli sauce. If they are so vague in their statement, I just won't use their products. I use the Classico brand. Their sauces are all gluten-free (to my knowledge) and are quite tasty.
  5. yeah, I was just diagnosed with a herniated disc after a month of miserable lower back pain and sciatica down both legs. got an epidural yesterday and the pain finally seems to be diminishing. But I worry about getting future back incidents.
  6. PS. I found out recently that I had a herniated disk, hence all the horrible lower back pain and sciatica. I had to take nearly 2 weeks off of work and stay in bed for long periods of time. I finally got an epidural yesterday and I think that I'm FINALLY beginning to feel better after over a month of pain.
  7. I'm not taking any supplements (besides Citrical Calcium Citrate which is definitely gluten free, I checked). I've had blood tests to check for allergies several times. Twice everything came out negative. The other time was through a alternative medicine clinic and it showed all kinds of allergies. But, and this is a big but, this clinic has a very bad reputation...
  8. Yes, I found that same message on their website and found it to be a bit puzzling. My dad bought me some Tomato and Basil Bertolli. I seem to be very sensitive to gluten, even cross contamination. Anyone know if this particular product (or their US company in general) produce their foods in gluten free surroundings?
  9. Ugh, sorry to hear about the awful reactions that you had, Shauna. Although I have quite severe celiac disease, I do not get any reaction that I know of if I get "glutened." Or it's too subtle or delayed to really notice. Which sounds good on the outside. But in the long run it's a real problem because I could be continuing to ingest gluten and that is probably...
  10. yes, your problems could be caused by lactose intolerance or other food intolerances. I would get checked for other food allergies to see if there is something else that is making you so sick. Although my blood tests showed I was not allergic to anything, I have pushed to get retested, this time with the skin prick testing. I have not been healing even though...
  11. Yeah, Blue Diamond is a bad company in regards to CC. I live in a mid-sized town (about 120,000 with the twin cities combined) yet the closest Trader Joes and Whole Foods are in Chicago and Indianapolis. We do have Meijers, Schnucks, County Market and a couple of health food stores, so it's not a terrible situation. But it could be better.
  12. I'm also having trouble finding nuts. Besides Nuts Online (which is really expensive, not to mention shipping prices!) my grocery store only carries Blue Diamond (which have issues with CC) and Meijers brand (which I really question). There are a few no name brands, such as Great Lakes pine nuts, but no information about their manufacturing processes. It...
  13. Is it possible for my food to absorb "gluten fumes" from the microwave? I'm just wondering if this might be an issue...
  14. I'm no longer so new. And I feel welcome in this community!

  15. Yeah, Blue Diamond is bad news I'm afraid (CC issues). I bought some Planters nuts but most of them are salted and I wish I could find hazelnuts, walnuts and pine nuts that are ok. I know that nutsonline has a lot of nuts but you are right, shipping is SO expensive in addition to the already expensive price of the nuts BTW, does anyone know whether Mauna...
  16. Yes, indeed, the company I work for is very small...I'm the only employee! So it's just my boss and I. She's perfectly aware of my problems but I feel like I'm not in the position to order her around. I have pretty much decided to avoid the microwave because it's full of spills from other foods and is not clean. Except if the food is enclosed (such as a microwave...
  17. GlutenFreeManna; Yes. My boss leaves out bread and other glutenous foods all over the place. There are crumbs everywhere. Until recently, I used her dishes for my meals that I ate there. But now I only eat with my own utensils and dishes. And I do NOT use the scrub sponge that is in the sink...it's filthy. I think I will even bring my own dishsoap because...
  18. well it sounds like people with severe cases of celiac disease (like you, Kim69 and me) can take a long time before we start feeling better. I don't have as severe symptoms as either of you (and fortunately no nausea or gi issues) but my antibodies are still VERY high and I've not been feeling well. I work, but only a part time job. I think I wouldn't be...
  19. thanks for the link! I just printed it out.
  20. Actually awhile back I bought some blue cheese that was imported from Denmark. Later, I read on the label that it was grown on bread, so I threw it out. So it is possible for cheese to have gluten in it, unfortunately.
  21. I was able to contact the director of glutenfreedrugs.com and he told me that mine is ok and not to worry about it (the manufacturer of mine is Glenmark.
  22. I think that I will switch to Dawn or Palmolive soap instead of Meijers, since I can't get anyone who seems to know whether there is gluten in the Meijers brand or not.
  23. I was wondering whether anyone knew if Pramipexole (the generic version of Mirapex) contains any gluten or is processed in a facility which shares gluten. I've been diagnosed with Celiac Disease over a year ago and despite following a very strict gluten free diet, I have not improved at all. So I'm looking into my medications. For the past month, Walgreens...
  24. does anyone know whether Meijers brand dish soap is gluten free?
