  1. Waffle Cone sounds so nice Birdie. I think I have that in my cart, I'll have to check it's been so long since I filled it up. You can try mixing the Sunlight with a light moisturizer and see if that makes a difference. What do you think of the flat-topped? Does it spread the makeup evenly? Hey Julie, no I didn't escape! I've just been having...
  2. Yes! You are absolutely right. I diddn't mention that I went to the optomotrist and had a thorough exam and they did find an astigmatism, but no serious problems. It is worth getting those eyes checked. This is exactly what happens to me. My right eye is worse than my left eye. But when I am overtired or during PMS they tend to blur more. I'll have...
  3. I am soooooo ready for that special to change! I keep checking, but like usual it didn't change the day it's supposed to, lol! I agree with you ladies - the 15th sounds like a safe bet. I finally ran out of my first foundation sample and after more trials of foundations decided that I like the Original Glow the best. It goes on light and flawless! That...
  4. Hi flygirl2003, In my case I was always hungry and would get hypoglycemic issues if I did not eat every 2-3 hours. I never felt satisfied long after a meal and I would gain weight. Even though I exercised regularly, I had a very hard time losing lbs. Now I don't get hypo symptoms and can last much longer before I need something to eat. This is improving...
  5. Thank you all for the replies. I started out good yesterday but had manicotti last night. It was a microwave meal made by a local pasta company and I just bought it for the first time. It was totally amazing, but not good for the diet. I was definately bloated after so I know either the diary or the starch in it was not good for me. I'm off to the store today...
  6. Hey Everyone, I spent last night reading this thread and want to jump in on the diet. I just got through taking a round of Cipro for an ear infection and prior to being gluten free, I would get a yeast infection every time. Since I have been gluten free I have not had any, but this was the first time I've been on antibiotics so I'm trying to be proactive...
  7. For me, blurred vision is definately a symptom. My vision progressivly worsened before I went gluten free. Once on the diet I had clearer vision than I've had in years. Then I got glutened and had terribly blurry vision for 2 full weeks. It cleared up again, but it's one of my main symptoms when I get gluten in my system. I tend to get it worse in my...
  8. Hey Everyone, I think I've finally found my motivation! I started taking karate with my son 2 weeks ago and I love it! I also started the Pilates class that I won 1 week ago. I actually went out a jogged 2 miles today. I really hope taking the classes is all that I needed to get me back exercising. I hate when I go through these slumps. I also had an...
  9. Happy Birthday, Patti!!!
  10. I never really liked that they are produced on the same lines as products containing wheat, but now the label reads: Produced in a facility that also makes products containing wheat, soy, almonds and hazelnuts. Each production run is sampled and tested to confirm gluten levels do not exceed 20 ppm. The front of the box states it is a Gluten Free...
  11. Thanks for posting this. I love Stonyfield Farms...it is my favorite too!
  12. Hey everyone, Julie, I'm still checking in and keeping up with the thread. I've been waiting it out until the new special. I think I'm going to wait a while to order for now. I'd like to be able to either get sample sizes of the blushes or see the new color photos before I order more blushes. Unless of course this takes too long. I might just order an...
  13. This is not always the case. Bayer Sherring Plow just told me via a phone call that they get their ingredients from different suppliers and can't gaurentee that their Cipro is gluten free. Many large companies bid out to different suppliers for ingredients. The only way to know for sure is to check with the manufacturer every time.
  14. Hi sammers1, I don't think any of us are blaming the pharmacists. I know I'm not. My problem is with the system and how the information has to be obtained. I said it before and I'll say it again...I don't think companies should be allowed to swap out ingredients that easily on a drug when allergens are used. If they use wheat, continue to use wheat so...
  15. Yes, I think there should be a list available to the pharmacists. It would be even nice to know if a medicine has the potential to contain gluten. I'm sure some medicines don't use gluten at all and there are probably others that can. Why not have a list of those? Or at least all the Pharmaceutical Companies phone numbers they deal with. Most of the time...
  16. Yes Patti, the dismissive attitudes from the professionals involved is certainly very frustrating. When I asked my doctor if Cipro was gluten free he said "I doubt they put gluten in medicines." The pharmacist of the first pharmacy (Rite Aid) I went to had a similar comment and the girl at the drive through window rolled her eyes at me when I asked if they...
  17. Even though you only have 2 pharmacies in your home town, can't you choose to check with and use other pharmacies if they give you better options?
  18. I'm glad too. It was a relief to find it. I think it's terrible that they add a top allergen, but it's horrible that the pharmacists can't even tell you if the medicine is safe. Manufacturers of food or medicine should not be allowed to swap ingredients that contain allergens. It should not be a guessing game for us. I can see them changing other ingredients...
  19. Can you imagine what that stuff must taste like? No way!!! They could get it, but it would take at least a week. So I decided to call Shoprites Pharmacy. The pharmacist was so nice and offered to call the Cipro manufacturer they used. She told me is was made by Dr. Reddings Laboratories. Sounded a little scary so I looked it up online, found...
  20. Apparently they used to make it with corn starch. I called the pharmacist today and she said she would have to look into ordering the Cipro ingredients and then compounding it. She also said Levequin (sp?) or Avalox might be worth checking into to see if they are gluten free. She also said they used to make a liquid suspension Cipro that they discontinued...
  21. Thank you Patti!
  22. I totally agree with you! This is the antibiotic that got me through pneumonia 2 years ago. Nothing else worked for me. It also caused my first real meltdown since my diagnosis. I have not cried that hard in a looooong time. Now I'm wondering what the heck I can take to get rid of my ear infection. The doctors response - just stop taking it and...
  23. Thank you happygirl. I will let that administrator of that site know! Your welcome blueeyedmanda!
  24. Hey all, I just found out the hard way that Cipro made by Bayer Schering Plow is not gluten free. Also the one made by Cobalt is NOT gluten-free either. Bayer confirmed via phone call and Cobalt via phone call and email. Please beware if you are prescribed these meds. Is there a medication list published some place? I have an ear infection and will...
  25. Yay, Paula let us know your favorites! I did buy a small organizer, but I think my makeup is slowly taking over other spaces. lol. Next order will do that container in for sure!
