I spent the first weekend on the couch after being dx Celiac : ( I was so sad at first, then angry. I get sad, angry or anxious from time to time. My extended family doesn't get it much. While they had deluxe subs, I had my gluten-free sammy. I couldn't use the veggies they had because they already had pre cut on a cutting board, emptied the bag etc. I am...
  3. Brown rice bothers me and I cannot eat Udis as well : ( However, I went nighshade free so, I'm not eating any gluten-free bread right now. I was able to eat Kinnikinnicks with little bother. It has potato starch, but white rice flour. I'm three months into gluten-free and I still hurt with every meal.
  4. Open Original Shared Link and Vulvodynia.com are pretty good with info. Sorry can't get links to work out well.
  5. I was diagnosed 6 years ago with Vestibulitis! Wow! It's amazing how things connect with Celiac. I avoid riding bikes, scented soaps and I always try to use a cushion on hard chairs or benches. I have to limit my time swimming also. Right now I can't wear jeans because of my side pain. I can't stand to have the pressure on them. I was having migraines...
  6. e I love her and I did follow the show. She was my favorite, I didn't know about the gluten-free! I haven't seen her show yet. I'm a foodtv junkie, but since going gluten-free it's been bittersweet. Thanks for posting this.
  7. Hello all! I used to bake a lot of different things, one being cornbread. After seeing the recipes here, I wanted to give it a shot. I went to buy cornmeal and the store had three. It was not the mixes. On the lable of two was may contain wheat. The other made on same lines. Is there a brand that has done well by you? I understand it being made in the...
  8. I was the same way! I also couldn't think clearly, easy confused. I also would wake up in the morning and could not seem to fully wake up. My mind was "sleepy" until about noon.
  9. We ended up at Harpers. They had three salads two you can add chicken or shrimp. Steaks the burger and salmon. Baked lemon chicken, grilled chicken tenders, bbq chicken and ribs. A veggie plate, plus all sandwiches can be made without the bread. They say the fries are gluten-free, and there are some sides. Baked potato and sweet potato, coleslaw, veggies etc...
  10. Is the menu more limited than pf Changs? I'm alright with a few choices at this time, if they are very careful with CC. Thanks for the info! I'm driving in from the other side of Charlotte.
  11. Thank you both for your replies I think it might help me since I'm in my third month gluten-free. You can buy a version that searches for updated everytime you look something up. I never buy a product without reading the lable, it takes me a long time to shop My dietition told me about Kraft and the other companies you listed, thank you BTW. You all have...

Has anyone been to this location? They have a gluten-free menu, was wondering if anyone had a good experience here. Thanks!
  13. Does anyone use their gluten-free list for food and drugs? If so, how well do you like them? Thanks!
  14. Thanks, I know I have celiac, but will think about further blood testing. Thanks!
  15. Hi everyone! I found out this morning that I am allergic to tomato, peanuts, almond, brazil nuts, and cantalope. I reacted to wheat and barely also. She was alittle surpprised. She said she doesn't see many celiacs that are also allergic to wheat and barely. She was well informed on what Celiac is and why my skin wouldn't react to the wheat because Celiac...
  16. I'm in NC as well! I look at every store I go to, I'm looking forward to trying them! I just found gluten-free Bisquick.
  17. This is something I haven't thought about before. I would almost think it was the Celiac that lead us to be more likely to have an eating disorder. If Celiac can cause depression etc, I can see it causing the ED? Something to think on. I'm going to research it.
  18. Open Original Shared Link I don't usually put this out there, but I suffer from eating disorder non specific. I started out a true bulimic, but ended up with anorexic behaviors. If you have Celiac, you've always had it. Whether the ED triggered it, you'll never know. I've always had digestive problems. Going gluten free, my behaviors have gotten better...
  19. Thank you so much, I was free of all of these today and had the best day so far going gluten-free! I did eat some corn chips, had some pain and bloating, but not as bad. It seems kinda sad to give up alot, but I'm trying to stay positive! I need to try new foods. I read testing should be after a year free of all of these?? What's your thoughts on this?
  20. For all of you that are nighshade and Lectin sensitive any help for a newbie? I've been reading older post and I feel like I need to try these diets. I'm not sure which direction to head in and what do I eat? It seems overwhleming, but I don't want to bloat or have pain. Thanks!
  21. I'm a celiac teacher assistant in a kindergarten classroom. I would meet with the entire grade level team with principal. My school would do this for you. I would have lot's of info about gluten free for them and want to know any products they would have in their classroom that would contain gluten. I would bring up your concern for a sub and how they would...
  22. Thanks everyone! I found out by my food diary I felt not so good with tomato, I don't find potato so bad though. I've never been able to eat peppers without gastro problems. I also find out that I think I am sensitive with brown rice. I am hoping white is alright going to try that soon. I'm going to try this bread, thanks! I haven't progressed into baking...
  23. Those of you that are nightshade free, do you have a gluten-free bread you can eat? I'm still bloating like crazy, so I thought I'd try this until testing for food allergies. I'm already dairy free.
  24. Thanks for yor reply. I'm still trying to figure it out. I think I'm sensitve to brown rice as well. It seems I take one step ahead with going gluten-free and two steps back.
