  1. Because you're a normal human being. No one likes being treated that way. We do have a brain whether they believe it or not.
  2. I do continue to use my barley grass powder with no problem. I have used it for about twenty years and have arthritis problems without it. I contacted the company and they do test for gluten. It tests at less than 8ppm.
  3. I am taking a copy of this study to my Dr. appointment next month. Don't know if it will help, but it can't hurt. It shows gluten sensitivity to be a separate and valid diagnoses apart from celiac. 4. Dogtorj has an article about consuming meat from gluten-fed animals on his website. Open Original Shared Link If the link doesn't work, the article is "Secondary Glutenization".
  5. Could you give us a reference on the Vitamin A being inflammatory. I would like to study this a bit.
  6. I understand that if you have a lactose sensitivity, you will probably be able to add it back in a year or two. But what about a casein intolerance? Can a person at some time try adding it back or is it a permanent intolerance like gluten? I
  7. Hi! Just saw one of your posts from the end May) where you said you're a 24/7 carer for someone w/ health problems. I'm also a 24/ 7 caregiver, my husband was born w/ Spastic Cerebral Palsy.

& it looks like we both joined this site about the same time :).

Anywho, just thought I'd say hi! send me a message any time, if you'd like :)

  8. Despite the fact that my blood levels of B12 are high, I seem to have some symptoms of B12 deficiency--such as neuropathy. I have read that your body may not use the vitamin efficiently and so blood levels may not always be a good indicator of your status. Is there any test that would show this? From Wikipedia (not always 100% accurate) "serum levels...
  9. My son was diagnosed as celiac as a baby after two hospitalizations for dehydration. His doctor described it as your's did, a pancreatic enzyme deficiency. After two years on a banana, rice and lamb only diet, he "outgrew" it and has been eating gluten since. He is now doing testing to see if he actually is celiac or was misdiagnosed as an infant.

  13. I don't know what brand of bacon I used last week, but it sure got me. I think it was the store brand but will have to check out the ingredients next time I shop. But will just check ingredients--not buy.
  14. The problem is that very few of the 6% have any clue that gluten might be the cause of their problems.
  15. A year ago, when my celiac panel came back negative, I did the Enterolab stool testing. My anti-gliaden was positive (219, normal less than 10) but I do not have the DQ2 or DQ8 gene. Since I could find no understandable information about anti-TTG, I had to ignore it. How significant is my anti-TTG score of 86 (normal less than 10)? I’m wondering...
  16. Magnesium will almost always take care of muscle cramps. Lesson learned from my son who does long-distance bike riding.
  17. But isn't gluten a protein? You can get rid of bacteria with vinegar or alcohol but probably not gluten. And you can't kill it with heat--like in baking bread. I would think that the only thing you can do is wash (or wipe) it off. Just my opinion.
  18. Where's the recipe?
  19. I personally wouldn't buy anything that doesn't show you a product label or ingredient list.

    ARCHIVED Brain Fog

For me it was an inability to come up with words. After going gluten-free the thought went through my head that I felt like I had just had a "vocabulary infusion".
  21. And after a negative celiac test, the GI told me to eat what I want and just take Imodium. Thanks a lot--I don't enjoy feeling like garbage.
  22. After doing this for a year, it gets a bit discouraging at times. But I have had a few really good days with energy I haven't had in years. I see those days as the prize that will be mine when I have gotten rid of all the gluten and other stuff that cause me problems. And I intend to keep at it until that prize is mine--every day.

    ARCHIVED Mind Games

Having a negative celiac panel always made me question myself. However, I don't have a problem now after reading this study published this spring. I thought celiac.com had an article about it, but I can't find it now. "Divergence of gut permeability and mucosal immune gene expression in two gluten-associated conditions: celiac disease and gluten sensitivity...
  24. Just my opinion, but if I were a restaurnt owner and got sued by someone who had a reaction to a gluten-free item from my menu, I would never attempt to serve another gluten-free food again. We would soon have no gluten-free options at all.

The magnesium I use is Angstrom Mineral magnesium. Open Original Shared Link I use this site for information only. Other sites have better pricing. Here are several paragraphs from their web-site describing the concept:
