  1. I like the Kinnikinnick pancake mix. The pancakes are really good. Don't care for the Bisquick, Pamela's or Bob's Red Mill.
  2. Yes, I've seen several posts on here mentioning hair loss and thinning hair. I don't remember seeing anything about the eyelashes specifically, but there's probably something on here about that as well. My own hair became thin and brittle. After 9 months on the diet, it's starting to look healthier. My doctor said that it might take a year. It's due...
  3. Have you actually had your B12 levels checked? You may need supplements. Most of us do. The sublingual kind seem to work best. A deficiency in B12 can definitely cause low energy and if you still have intestinal damage and aren't absorbing vitamins from food well enough, you may need to add supplements. Good luck!
  4. That is wonderful. Some people do "get it".
  5. That is rude beyond belief. Ugh! Ignorance is rampant.
  6. There are lots of ways you could have been glutened unfortunately. Crumbs on a cutting board, your food coming in contact with theirs. You really can't trust anyone to prepare your food if they don't care to learn about your condition. If you go there again, can you cook for yourself without rocking the boat too much? I haven't gone to anyone else's house...
  7. That is very cool! Congrats! We have been making gluten-free biscotti and sharing them with friends......they can't tell the difference.
  8. That sounds like me last year. Our Wal-Mart is 30 miles away and after a while, I just wouldn't go. Isn't it wonderful to realize that you may be getting your life back? Happy for you!
  9. Interacting with gluenoids.......love it! How clever!
  10. I feel so bad for you (and others on here) whose husbands and family are not supportive. It makes this journey a whole lot harder than it needs to be. I've read that for those who have really bad damage like you do, that the healing process can take 2 or 3 years. The other posters have given excellent advice on what to eat. I really hope things get better...
  11. Oh sorry.....thought you meant Facebook.
  12. You can tweak your privacy settings so that "Just Friends" see your info.....or "Friends of Friends" if you want. If it says "Everyone", then it is "out there" for anyone to see.
  13. Nope, just Diane Cicci. I'll send you a friend request.....thanks. :)
  14. Ha! Doubt if there is 1000 of me. It's not a common name.
  15. If anyone is on Facebook and wants to friend me, just look for Diane Cicci, and write a little message saying you are someone from here.
  16. I am a heathen.....I grew up on the coast of Maine and hate lobster. How about those Bruins?!
  17. You are awesome! And inspirational. We love you too!
  18. Yeah, I can't wait to say good riddance to winter. And maybe having a Whole Foods Market closer than 3 1/2 hours!
  19. I too have a very supportive husband. He has been fantastic. He loves to cook and has taken it upon himself to experiment with lots of different recipes. I haven't had anybody actually "bail" on me, but I don't have much family left here anyway. Some friends seem not really interested when I mention success with a recipe or something, so I've stopped...
  20. Maybe it's the corn? Most of us seem to have an intolerance to that.
  21. These women are stupid and mean. Are they relatives or roommates? Can you avoid them? They don't get it and it appears that they don't care. You need support, not sabotage. Ergh! They need to come here and read what cc can do.
  22. Amazon does have it, but it's expensive. I may see if our local library can get it for me through Interlibrary loan. Sox swept the Yankees....again. Yay!
  23. That sounds fascinating. Thanks for sharing. Off to see if Amazon has it.
  24. Haha! I wish I had the guts to wear that shirt!
