  1. I'm going to try the carrot cake version next time. I put cream cheese frosting on this one too.
  2. Namaste Spice Cake mix is VERY good. I like their flour blend too.
  3. Oh sorry.....misread that.
  4. I never heard of B12 doing that. Maybe it was all that coffee and not the B12? I take 1000 mcg daily.
  5. I agree with kareng. He sounds like a control freak to me. It's so sad when spouses aren't supportive, but this goes beyond that.
  6. Rice Chex. The new apple-cinnamon flavor is very good and they also have the plain and the cinnamon.
  7. I was just in the hospital with colitis (not fun) and the GI doctor told me that there is a connection between the medication Evista and colitis. I thought this would be useful info for those who take it. Having celiac is hard enough without a med causing issues with an already messed up digestive system. This GI was pretty savvy and understanding...
  8. I have a pile of unread books, including the newest one by Ann Rice, The Wolf Gift, but it is baseball season and I'm pretty much glued to that. We also watch NCIS, Bones, Idol, The Finder, Swamp People and a few others. We love movies too.....The Debt just came from Netflix.
  9. And who would have thought that it would be hard to find clothes that fit after losing weight? Nobody wants to hear THAT! So I don't say much about it. I'd like to gain a few pounds back, but there's not much empathy for that problem either.
  10. Kinnikinnick. I think it is much better than the Betty Crocker, but I haven't tried any of the others that folks have mentioned.
  11. Is there any left? I'd like some please.
  12. That is the flour mix that I use and everything turns out great! Good luck!
  13. Do you have a crock pot? It's easy to throw some meat and veggies in it in the morning and have a meal waiting for you a few hours later. You can make soups, stews, all kinds of yummy things.
  14. That is just mind-boggling that a dietician in a hospital is so woefully ignorant.
  15. Withdrawal seems different for everyone.....it depends on how old you are, how long you may have had gluten issues without being diagnosed or knowing it. Gluten is addictive and your body is reacting to missing it, and for some people, withdrawal symptoms can be as bad or worse than their original symptoms. But it will get better. Welcome to the forum...
  16. What about making your own? Would your son eat that?
  17. I have had that happen too. I used to love the Kinnikinnick "Oreos", but don't want them at all now. There was a lemon wafer bar, too, made by Glutino, I think. Can't stand 'em now. It's weird.
  18. It could also be a B12 deficiency. Are the doctors testing for that?
  19. Thank you so much for sharing that site!
  20. I take Culterelle. There are others, but this one seems quite popular with folks here, and it is making a difference with me. But you doctor is right.....you are still healing.....and a probiotic should help you. Good luck!
  21. Apparently there are people who have no clue what flour is actually made from. I can understand maybe not knowing what gluten is, but not knowing that regular flour is made from wheat just amazes me.
  22. From what I've read on here, dairy, soy, corn, and sometimes tomatoes, are common problems for us. I avoid soy, and it's tricky because it is in all kinds of things.....tuna, mayo, and a bunch of others. You have to become a detective and read labels for all this other stuff besides gluten.
  23. Blueberry Muffin Recipe from Gluten Free Baking Classics by Annalise Roberts (hope it is OK to do this) First you have to mix up her flour blend: 2 cups brown rice flour (very fine...or white rice flour works too), 2/3 cup Potato Starch, and 1/3 cup Tapioca Flour 2 cups of the flour mix 2/3 cups sugar 1 tablespoon baking powder 1 tsp baking...
  24. Yes, my favorite book! I will be happy to post the recipe.
  25. I like the recipe in Gluten Free Baking Classics by Annalise Roberts.
