  1. I wish I would have known what was wrong with me at 19 instead of 36. It would have saved me a lot of grief and agony.
  2. 1. FIRST NAME? Ian 2. WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE? Don't know 3. WHEN DID YOU LAST CRY? Do you think I am going to admit to that? 4. DO YOU LIKE YOUR HANDWRITING? Can't read it so i wouldn't know. 5. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LUNCH MEAT? Salami 6. KIDS? 10 yo boy 7. IF YOU WERE ANOTHER PERSON WOULD YOU BE FRIENDS WITH YOU? Let me get back with you on that...
  3. My girlfriend eats very liitle gluten and syas she notices a difference. My dad and brother need to be gluten free. My brother eats less of it but my dad doesn't show any interest in changing.
  4. I'm gluten-free, but I'm so glad I don't have to give up women. Especially the hot gluten free ones.
  5. I just stick with foods that are obviously gluten free. It takes some planning but after a while you will get the hang of it and it really isn't that difficult.
  6. I gave up on the OMG thread a long time ago. I am not sure if this job is taken but I think there needs to be a Director of Altoids Quality Control. That magical little candy seems to be an integral part of the gluten free lifestyle.
  7. Enjoy your singleness. If I had known I was going to like being divorced so much I would have done it much sooner. I and only I am in control of my destiny and it is just so liberating. Once I made the decision to just live for me and my son I found a girlfriend who is exactly what I wanted. We both have the same philosophy about marriage and more kids. NEVER...
  8. New Grist is available at Whole Foods for about $7.50 a six pack.
  9. I am another former heavyweight. Once I cut the gluten the weight came right off.
  10. Ain't no way in hell is gluten ever touching my lips ever again.
  11. New Grist is quite good. It is a very light pale ale but has a strong hops flavor to it. Several others here have said the same about New Grist.
  12. I found that I can't take it every night because I quickly build up a tolerance. I have not noticed any ill effects or even become remotely addicted to it. For occaisonal use it works really well.
  13. It is like an out of body experience. i could see and hear everything going on around me but was completely unable to connect with reality. Driving was the worst. the light would be red and I knew I was supposed to stop but my brain could not make me lift my foot off the accelerator and onto the brake. I would then proceed to go right through the red light...
  14. Abraham Lincoln had it but that is all I know about it.

    ARCHIVED Anger

Melatonin works well for me and I don't get that drugged out feeling either.
  16. You find out real fast who your friends are when you have celiac. I had to purge a lot of people from my life and even some family members too. There are now less people in my life but they are of much higher quality. Not too many from the bad old gluten days are still around in my life and that is a good thing.
  17. No diagnosis for me and don't need one. It is so obvious that gluten is a problem for me.

    ARCHIVED Bananas

Yuch, bannanas. I do not like the taste or smell of bannanas and they go out just as fast as they go in.
  19. It is quite good and I recommend it.
  20. My EX-wife just didn't get it at all and that is why she is now my EX-wife. No big deal, turned out for the better anyway. Everyone else has been quite supportive even if they don't fully understand it.
  21. I used to have a very difficult time in social situations. The brain fog made it impossible for me to concentrate and I would make a total idiot out of myself every single time. It didn't take long and I avoided every social situation. Now I can handle myself quite well in any social situation but get very fatigued if I do too many of them. I am not shy but...
  22. I find it amazing that a commercial website has become the best source for information on Celiac. Nothing else out there even comes close. Keep up the good work for we are lost without it.
  23. If you feel better on the gluten free diet what more do you need to know? There is no pill for celiac.
  24. Mine went away and it was by far the worst symptom for me.
  25. My brain fog would get so bad that I just worth a damn at doing anything. This was causing my life to disintegrate which would obviously lead to depression. No matter how hard I tried I would fail at everything. It wasn't until the gluten was gone that things changed for the better.
