    ARCHIVED Low Hcl

I am AB+ and have low stomach acid. I have, in the past, avoided meats for that reason. Meats seemed imposable to digest and would just lay in my stomach. Coffee seemed to raise my stomach acid to aid in digestion. I really noticed the difference when I gave up coffee.
  2. If someone sorts it all out PLEASE email me
  3. the last time I got CC ( a very small amount) I ended up in the ER with CT scans (head and abdomen) and all kinds of testing,, as to the anemia ,have you had your vitamins, minerals and iron checked lately ??
  4. If the taco was eaten at a restaurant there is always a possibility of CC (cross contamination ) For me it does not take much gluten for me to react

  6. there is no such thing as a "slight " case of celiac. the only treatment for celiac is a 100% gluten free diet.
  7. I agree with Peter it could very well be the Sorbitol. The other thing I would question is the corn syrup, do you have trouble with other candys that contain corn syrup?
  8. I recently (the beginning of April)had testing done and my ANA was moderately Positive. mine was 35 ; negative is <20, moderately positive range is 20-60 I did not have any of the other markers for lupus but my antibodys for Hashimoto's was off the scale my TPO was 998.76 normal is <10.10 Have you been tested for Hashimotos or other autoimmune...
  9. Short answer is ; yes remove soy IT is evil I was gluten free for over a year when I eliminated soy. It was not until I eliminated soy that my body truly started to recover. But to be fair, soy may not be a problem for you. So try totally eliminating soy for 3 to 4 weeks and then try reintroducing it and see how you feel. A word of caution...
  10. Wither you are allergic, gluten intolerant ,undiagnosed or diagnosed celiac, YES you need to check your soaps ,lotions and make up for gluten. Have you been tested? Welcome to the forums
  11. Very well said
  12. I would rather be "defined" by celiac than: sick, hypochondriac, crazy, psychotic, cancer victim ,dead ,ect.......... I have celiacs and I am alive and living well.
  13. I would strongly recommend getting a copy of your blood work. my daughters doc told her he was testing for celiacs and that the test came back negative .When she went in to get copies of the test she found out he NOT test her for celiacs. He tested her for anemia and decided that since she is "within range" she could not be celiac She now has a new...
  14. I am in the US, I wonder if in some countrys there is more of an awareness of celiacs disease then the US ,, because , IMHO, our doctors are not to up on celiacs disease at all

  18. I can remember having problems as early as 12 years old. I remember when I was 17, the weekend before I got married, I had a rash on my arms,a rash that I now know was DH. I diagnosed my self in Oct of 2009, I was just "officially " diagnosed by my GI doc 10 days ago on April 18th. I will have my 55 birthday this fall.

  20. I wonder about the connection between celiacs and liver issues. I was recently diagnosed with Gilbert-meulengracht syndrome. My daughter is convinced that my celiacs is connected to my gilberts . The origin of gilberts is a genetic flaw in ones DNA
  21. I am intolerant of Soy . The last time I ingested Soy (a very small amount ) I ended up in the Emergency Room .It took weeks to fully recover .
  22. I agree with Darn210 and Raven ,a positive is a positive. To address your question, whether an intolerance to gluten or celiac disease the treatment is the same: a 100% gluten free diet. Welcome to the forums
  23. For me it is a balancing act,, I am iodine sensitive, on meds that contain iodine for my hypothyroidism , I need iodine for my thyroid, I have hashimitos AND I have DH. I have found that ,for me,there is a very thin line between what is needed and what is to much . I am learning to read my body , to know when I am over the line. I only use sea salt...
