  1. Still owned by the same person, as far as I know.
  2. IF you want a celiac diagnosis, have the tests done. If you do not care, just go gluten-free. Some people desire a DX for a variety of reasons. Here is how celiac is Diagnosed. (The genetic test is often used more as a measure to "rule out" celiac disease.) Here, read this: Open Original Shared Link
  3. Take a look here. Open Original Shared Link There are a number of articles on gluten/celiac and the relationship to other AI diseases. We all know it on here, because we live it, and the rest of the medical community is "catching up" on acknowledging the connection.
  4. Before you start worrying about other food intolerances, let's see if you have a gluten issue first, okay? Silent celiac means no overt gastro symptoms. But, it is still celiac and your gut would still be damaged. Your joint pain and psoriasis are consistent with gluten and celiac. Take a look here and see if you have other symptoms you may not...
  5. Tough? we're warriors!! Salax, Girl, this is why I say "Celiac...it ain't for sissies!! NO ONE gets it like we do. NO ONE! P.S. sadly, I think I may have to ditch the dairy again, too....I added it back in, but now, I do not feel quite right & my horrid joint/muscle pain is amplified again....total bummer.
  6. ???? he said... THAT?? I am stunned. All I can speak to is my own experience. I am NOT living in the bathroom --and I did that all my life---and I have "gorgeous BMs" Hon, I do not know what to say to this. He told me emphatically....no gluten, no corn, no soy. I have used them all along without issues, honest!! He was also very ill himself...
  7. How much do we all love Sylvia right now??? and my tight pants just went R-I-P!!!!!!!!!! SORA!! SORA!!! where the HE*L are those MUU MUUS???
  8. um, MO--it's me IH I specifically asked about Corn and soy in Custom Probiotics back when I was avoiding that, too. He said "NO corn. No soy." But, call and speak to him if you wish to be reassured. The 800 number is on the website. He's a nice guy.
  9. There are recipes for both corn and rice flour tortillas on the internet and on here somewhere. Start googling! for example: Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link
  10. I was just going to say this, but you beat me to it...thanks, Gee EFF!
  11. I have used Custom Probiotics since my DX. I had virtually no detectable good bacteria in my gut upon testing and I have used the 6- strain blend powder for 18 months. If there were any gluten in it, I'd be very sick by now as I react strongly to trace gluten. My lifelong D and C has resolved. I am "right as rain". My entire GI tract burned from my...
  12. All I know is, she emailed the pic to me, I drooled all over my laptop...and I said "I'll give you a buck if you post it for the gang on the dessert thread". I know it's lemony and I know it's good....but I'll let her share the the rest.
  13. Since I did both at the same time--gluten and dairy---oh, and soy, I did not think about both of them causing w/d, but I suppose that makes sense. Whatever it was, it was not pretty for a while.(but I was also very ill from celiac, so I cannot differentiate) All I know is....the whole thing just plain sucked...until it didn't. (sorry, usually...
  14. Loved that guy!! Talk about a versatile actor. He could be the jovial nutball, a poignantly sad character or the scariest, baddest a*s.
  15. Isn't it beautiful? Now, I owe Sylvia a buck. I said if she posted that pic on here, I'd give her a buck. Don't you all wanna know what it IS?
  16. Honest, you mean? well, kiddo that's a good quality! (or did you mean Yankee Noo Englandah frugal?? I like that, too! ) Honestly, I did not notice any price differences between the gluten-free menu and the "regular offerings" in the few restaurants I have been in thus far. But my experiences are limited to just a few places.
  17. Yeah, Bunz, that part did not sit well with me either, but she was so happy and positive overall that I did not want to say it. but now that YOU have, I have to concur. 5 bucks more is just wrong.
  18. Hon, there is a whole section of recipes on here that you can wade through. There's some great stuff on here! This thread is really more of a "here's what we're having" thread. ok?
  19. And right back at you!
  20. I have to agree with Peter. It will not help to badger her. If she is intelligent enough and has read about celiac disease, she knows she is doing the wrong thing. I have dealt with this myself. My large extended family is full of people with AI diseases, GERD, IBS and other bowel issues, depression, etc. and it pains me to see them all ignoring the...
  21. Because I had been long unDXed, and I was in poor health and in constant pain, my new GI doctor runs blood work every few months to check my thyroid (which once had a lump on it and ran from hyper to hypo and back again), glucose levels, iron, vit D, folate, and B-12 levels (all of which were tanked ), a CMP and CBC. Also, tests for inflammation in the body...
  22. Love your comments. I can tell you are very generous to everyone here. :)

  23. I had a similar path....your list of "medical pros" sounds like mine.Dozens of doctors...no help. However, I am often leery of testing that is questionable, having gone that route myself. But, if you are feeling better and it works for you, then, keep at it. I was only trying to help you with follow up care. best wishes to you.
  24. But, the research is clear and I just said it: Gluten. Gluten ingestion, a genetic predisposition and some type of trauma, such as an accident, an injury, pregnancy, extreme stress, and a viral infection. Possibly environmental factors (research is ongoing) These are the celiac "triggers", as far as we know.
  25. No, it does not. Celiac is triggered by gluten, but there must be other factors apart from gluten that can contribute to the development of celiac disease. From the Celiac Disease Center at Columbia University: "Some of the factors are the timing of the first ingestion of gluten in childhood and the amount of gluten, whether breast feeding occurs...
