ARCHIVED Digest Gold? Maltase From What Source?
IrishHeart replied to IrishHeart's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
gemini, Thanks for your thoughts! That's what I said to my husband--why on earth would they risk such a lawsuit and claim to be gluten-free like that if they were not? Your point is well-taken because I HONESTLY felt that I was DIGESTING better using them. I even recommended them to another person. Not to be gross, but my stool was better, no diarrhea... -

"I would try gluten-free diet for 6-8 weeks. Then consider biopsy, which is definite diagnosis tool for this problem." <---- MY DOCTOR SAID THIS!!!!!! OMG!!! (Irish shakes her head and heaves a sigh as well) having seen/heard so much of this idiocy for 3 years (or so I thought) I shouldn't be surprised. But, THAT is just plain ignorance.... -

Thanks, guys! I think I'm gonna fly without them and see how it goes! You know, a DOCTOR recommended these to me last year.... of course, he was also the guy who said at one point that (1) I could eliminate all my stomach and muscle pain by volunteering (I could hardly walk) and the (2) gluten was not a problem and (3) my hair loss just made... -

ARCHIVED Digest Gold? Maltase From What Source?
IrishHeart posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Just read a post on here saying Digest Gold Enzymes may not be gluten free after all. Just great! I have been using them for over a month. Not feeling fantastic yet, but figured I was just slowly coming along...I kept saying to hubby, "Why do I still feel so much like a Histamine reaction is going on??" (beet red, itchy, "hyper", sore throat, burny etc... -

We know you are not making it up or causing yourself to be sick. it's not "all in your head".Most of us got the same rap about anxiety and/or depression-- left to feel like hypochondriacs or nutjobs. We aren't. We're sick from head to toe, and the neurological symptoms are the worst. Thyroid issues often accompany celiac. (You probably already know... -
ARCHIVED Help! Reintroducing Soy
IrishHeart replied to healinginprogress's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I know, I agree-- it is very frustrating!! I used to love food, and I showed it LOL...I was "robust"....until I got sick. Now, I am making myself eat. (my weight plummeted 90 lbs. quickly and we did not know why ) Yeah, they tell us "just don't eat gluten" (no! Really, I wouldn't have guessed that!) ... but NOTHING else...well, MY doc said no dairy... -

You sound like me!! Chest, ribs, back...neck..even my jaw..ouch...and I have had chiro, PT and MT and I am still in agony. Plus, it causes me to BURN as well. (3 years of this, lots of $$$ spent trying to get out of pain...) This was BEFORE Diagnosis. Now, I realize nothing will change as long as I am in gluten inflammation. Hi guys, I tried the canola oil mayo and did not like it one bit YUCK. (JMHO) -
I have to be honest, I am not a parent of a child with celiac, but I could not help but add my thoughts as I know my cousin and his wife went through this kind of decision process with their child. My 2 cents? Trust the excellent results with the gluten free diet. Hubby is wise. Too many of us have been burned by what "the medical community"...

seriously? Okay, a potato from the ground is whole food. Does a potato chip grow in the ground?? just teasing, but...really...a potato chip is cut up, COOKED in oil and salted...it is processed. Fried and salted means it has been processed. -
Hi DC I had developed this sinus/throat.burny mouth thing --back in July '09 (pre- Diagnosis)..always feel like I am in a "histamine" response 24/7. It's awful! I had a dry cough, even my lungs feel sore. I was drinking peppermint tea for nausea and took a ton of herbal supps over the course of 3 years, like tumeric, willow bark, etc....(lots of "helpful...
