  5. I was too sick and stunned by his insensitivity to respond at the time. I will address it when I am better, you can be sure of that!
  6. gemini, Thanks for your thoughts! That's what I said to my husband--why on earth would they risk such a lawsuit and claim to be gluten-free like that if they were not? Your point is well-taken because I HONESTLY felt that I was DIGESTING better using them. I even recommended them to another person. Not to be gross, but my stool was better, no diarrhea...
  7. "I would try gluten-free diet for 6-8 weeks. Then consider biopsy, which is definite diagnosis tool for this problem." <---- MY DOCTOR SAID THIS!!!!!! OMG!!! (Irish shakes her head and heaves a sigh as well) having seen/heard so much of this idiocy for 3 years (or so I thought) I shouldn't be surprised. But, THAT is just plain ignorance....
  8. Thanks, guys! I think I'm gonna fly without them and see how it goes! You know, a DOCTOR recommended these to me last year.... of course, he was also the guy who said at one point that (1) I could eliminate all my stomach and muscle pain by volunteering (I could hardly walk) and the (2) gluten was not a problem and (3) my hair loss just made...
  9. May have been the enzymes or not. Maybe she is just still pretty raw and sensitive to anything. My gut is up and down (2 months gluten-free)...tell her to hang in there. Baby the tummy for now. Hope she feels better soon!
  10. I understand....Thanks for your thoughts! as I said in my other post, I just keep learning. One woman said she called the company and they said it's not from barley. Whom do you trust? my own gut (pun intended)
  11. thanks..I was going to call them tomorrow; you saved me a call.. I'm going to do without anyway and see if I feel better..
  12. I TOTALLY agree!!....I only took the damn things because I have a burning tongue/mouth and pineapple (citrus/toms too) HURTS. Otherwise, I would be eating a lot of it (I love it!!) peppermint and ginger? OUCH!!!!!!! Honey and the foods high in salicylates bother me, too (I get a closed, scratchy burny throat) sooooooooo... that's the only reason I...
  13. Welcome aboard the "the heck with doctors, I know my body best" bus!! Anything I can do to help, I will. The people on this forum have guided me, too. I do not know if I could do this without them. Those who live it know more than any doctors. Welcome to gluten-free living!!...it's time to stop the suffering..and start feeling better...
  14. You are da woman!! You go, girl!! You can do anything you set your mind to--Look at all you've accomplished!! I am sending all positive vibes, prayers and cyber-hugs to you! Fingers--and toes--plus, Jack's fingers..... and the cat's paws are crossed too...!! G.
  15. Just read a post on here saying Digest Gold Enzymes may not be gluten free after all. Just great! I have been using them for over a month. Not feeling fantastic yet, but figured I was just slowly coming along...I kept saying to hubby, "Why do I still feel so much like a Histamine reaction is going on??" (beet red, itchy, "hyper", sore throat, burny etc...
  16. ARE YOU FREAKIN KIDDING ME?? I have been using DIGEST GOLD for 5 weeks because someone on here said it was gluten-free. I read their website completely. Their label specifically says NO GLUTEN...so, what are we supposed to believe?? SONUVA....
  17. Join the club--short term memory issues made me nuts! That's improving, although some of 2009-2010 is a blur Your diet sure sound like a "clean" one. I hope it works out for you!!! I finally bagged the elimination diet. I just rotate foods for now, write down what I eat, see what happens.. and obviously, no dairy, soy or the bad boy, G. No packaged...
  18. We know you are not making it up or causing yourself to be sick. it's not "all in your head".Most of us got the same rap about anxiety and/or depression-- left to feel like hypochondriacs or nutjobs. We aren't. We're sick from head to toe, and the neurological symptoms are the worst. Thyroid issues often accompany celiac. (You probably already know...
  19. I know, I agree-- it is very frustrating!! I used to love food, and I showed it LOL...I was "robust"....until I got sick. Now, I am making myself eat. (my weight plummeted 90 lbs. quickly and we did not know why ) Yeah, they tell us "just don't eat gluten" (no! Really, I wouldn't have guessed that!) ... but NOTHING else...well, MY doc said no dairy...
  20. You sound like me!! Chest, ribs, back...neck..even my jaw..ouch...and I have had chiro, PT and MT and I am still in agony. Plus, it causes me to BURN as well. (3 years of this, lots of $$$ spent trying to get out of pain...) This was BEFORE Diagnosis. Now, I realize nothing will change as long as I am in gluten inflammation. The nervous system is on hyper...

  22. Hi guys, I tried the canola oil mayo and did not like it one bit YUCK. (JMHO)
  23. I have to be honest, I am not a parent of a child with celiac, but I could not help but add my thoughts as I know my cousin and his wife went through this kind of decision process with their child. My 2 cents? Trust the excellent results with the gluten free diet. Hubby is wise. Too many of us have been burned by what "the medical community"...
  24. seriously? Okay, a potato from the ground is whole food. Does a potato chip grow in the ground?? just teasing, but...really...a potato chip is cut up, COOKED in oil and salted...it is processed. Fried and salted means it has been processed.
  25. Hi DC I had developed this sinus/throat.burny mouth thing --back in July '09 (pre- Diagnosis)..always feel like I am in a "histamine" response 24/7. It's awful! I had a dry cough, even my lungs feel sore. I was drinking peppermint tea for nausea and took a ton of herbal supps over the course of 3 years, like tumeric, willow bark, etc....(lots of "helpful...
