  1. Eggs bother me too. I cannot eat them without feeling nausea and they sit right in my chest. Like a rock. They are not my favorite food, but I need protein. If they are baked in something, I do not seem to notice this....it is peculiar. They did not show up in allergy testing or in food antibody testing. I am thinking, maybe it's just something...

Hi Brigit! YES! I am feeling the same moodiness (totally unlike my happy personality ) and have been fighting off depression and tears. I was crying every day for 3 years before I stopped the gluten. Sometimes, I even had RAGE but at least now, it has been better. And I KNOW why I was so "nutsy". It never made any sense to me, although I also have...
  3. PS Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

  4. Doing good, thank you for asking. How are you feeling?

  5. I think I was subclinical hypo all my life...always had thin hair,etc...as the celiac "triggered" in 2008, my numbers bounced around and I think, if I hadn't been so exhausted, he never would have put me on meds at all. Celiac wasn't a thought back then. If I had been DXED properly years ago, I am sure the thyroid would not have been involved at all. It...
  6. Out with the gluteny shampoo!! LOL I did early on ....and my hair spray too (both had hydrolyzed wheat protein) and my scalp stopped breaking out....
  7. I was on meds for slightly hypo, but I felt "racy" on them and complained...sure enough, I went hyper...then, the thyroid antibodies were so low, the doctor said he did not know why I was on them in the first place. (me neither) I'm still waiting to see what they say next month
  8. well, denial is part of the mourning phase of loss....there's anger and bargaining, depression and eventually, acceptance...she'll get there, eventually.... sorry, hubby....just hang on. Some gluten-free food is better than others. You two will have to try a few places to see what's good. Are you in NYC or upstate?...I may have some tips for you if...
  9. Trust me, I have read posts from many women & men on here who say their significant others left them when they needed them the most. I thank my man every single day for staying by my side. Your support is crucial to her, especially right now. This means, of course, no more buying those Kit Kats!! no matter how much she wants them. It takes courage...
  10. You're so cute. I haven't posted a good bread recipe yet but have to get on it! It is my b'day today and DH is taking me to Edmonton (nearest city 3 hours away) for gluten-free shopping and to spoil me to bits. Have you tried adding unflavoured gelatin or psyllium fibre to your bread? I do not have a bread machine, either, but my KitchenAid mixer is a sturdy sucker. Will post soon. ...

  11. Jen's husband---you are amazing! Your devotion to your wife is evident. I have a story for you; please bear with me as I am writing it out of real concern. I know it is long, but please, share it with Jen. It's the truth--if I had not lived it, I would find it hard to believe myself. I kept a journal of this bizarre ordeal and I STILL have a hard time...
  12. hmmm....I'm less tired and waaaay less foggy but my innards are still inflamed....we are a pair!
  13. I take both enzymes and probiotics and eat fermented cabbage (homemade) and when I can, will incorporate yogurt. Good to know I am doing all I can to heal properly. I did a ton of research and hope it pays off. Thanks again for your thoughts!
  14. THANKS! this helps immensely...I have been 100% gluten-free, yet I believe I was glutened at my sister's house, then at the dentist's office 2X in the past month and so, I keep feeling as if I am reacting to EVERYTHING...it's ridiculous. I start to feel a bit better and then,I have heartburn or stomach pain or C or D or a huge increase in the chronic burning...
  15. Kiddo there isn't a single person on here who hasn't made a boo-boo when first going gluten-free/DF and choosing a food that wasn't agreeable with them...it's a learning curve I ate one or two of those chocolate ones at the beginning too.... They're pretty good, actually... but yeah, it's best to avoid them for now.
  16. Thanks for the link, Edward. (I have seen this site before and it is very helpful) I have read a great deal about leaky guts during the past few years and I also think that in time, healing the gut damage from the celiac will also resolve the other intolerances. My cousin could not eat cheese and now, she can!! I remain hopeful!!
  17. throw in Vit K---if you are bruising easily!!
  18. Amen to that , chill! :D I would be lost without this forum. I have been googling my symptoms for two years and it always landed right here!!
  19. I agree...try ditching the soy, it may help! It's in everything--watch for soy lecithin, soy protein isolate, hydolyzed vegetable protein. It's like gluten--used as fillers and texturizers, so you have to play detective. Good luck!
  20. Sounds like you're doing the "paleo diet" minus nuts plus rice, basically... good for you! I wonder if I should be more strict. I tried that and felt extremely hungry and deprived. I do eat alternative grains and nuts, but then this possible SA thing arose...I have a "histamine" response going on and I am not sure what the heck is causing it.... I hope...
  21. Geesh, chill...I just looked at your sig....you have eliminated a LOT of food groups...what the heck is left for you, hon??? You must be down to meats/fish/vegs/fruits?. (I see you are nut free--those are high in SA) gosh, I thought I had a limited food selection!
  22. This whole bizarreness makes me wonder...I have so many symptoms, I just cannot believe it sometimes...sigh
  23. here's another one... Open Original Shared Link
  24. Chill, I had a white film on my tongue too--and it BURNS...I do not have yeast (tested many times). the film is starting to disappear since I went gluten-free. I still have the burning mouth though. Another member on here told me hers cleared up after a while being gluten-free and to hang in there. She did not mention having to eliminate SA foods...
