  1. (1) I am a celiac advocate. I do my best to provide honest, truthful and valid information based on CURRENT research. (2) There are no valid tests for gluten intolerance. Check Pub Med. Check Celiac research center info. Check Science-based medicine articles. (3) IgG is NOT the same as IgE-mediated food allergies. They are not the same mechanism in the...
  2. You can "outgrow" a wheat and gluten intolerance? Retested every 3 years ......with what, exactly? Currently, there are no valid tests for gluten intolerance.
  3. If you have not been tested for SIBO, I would not assume that is what you have, hon.
  4. I meant to say "I never met a soft gluten-free pretzel"--one you can freeze.
  5. Last night she had a salad, apple slices, cheese, and a soft pretzel for dinner. Or wet pieces of onion bread turning chewy and delicious in the dehydrator. Julie, I just have to ask ....is anyone in your family a celiac or NCGI? if so, why are you guys eating these foods? I do not understand. I never "met" a soft gluten-free pretzel.
  6. FE, I am pretty sure we discussed all this with you recently on this thread here: https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/106681-need-a-dr-referral-in-long-beach-ca-area/#entry908507 You may need a doctor's help at this point. If you are still feeling poorly, something is amiss. Just offering my honest, humble opinion here.
  7. What does "using IgG to help heal my gut" mean?
  8. SIBO is treated with antibiotics, probiotics, or a combination of both. Do you take a broad spectrum probiotic?
  9. Finally caught up on all the dinner chat messages...if I missed anyone, forgive me, as I am a bit tired (from having too much fun) Karen...have a blast skiing!! Lisa...glad you are continuing to feel better and better each day, dear girl. You have had a long haul. Laura...I wonder if we all have our own "layering method" for nachos? lol. I go chips...
  10. I was going to say something very similar to Karen's reply, so I will just say "what she said"and add this: I have always hated the expression "Oh you're just too sensitive" because it implies that the person being singled out is incapable of taking a joke (if in fact, it is funny)--which in this case, it's not. It's never okay to make fun of someone...
  11. Honestly...I have read your post repeatedly and I am not really sure what your point is. Sorry. Just one example that is very confusing: Whenever you remove something from your diet, your body panics and it tries to replace it with something else. However that something else is something different then what your body wants so it just disposes of it...
  12. Cath G: My eyes only bother me if gluten gets in them - never if I eat it. I have no idea what this means. Celiac is not about gluten in the eyes and allergic reactions and there is only a response if it is INGESTED.
  13. a "mediator release test" is not going to diagnose anything, hon, Sorry. There are NO valid tests for food intolerances. Open Original Shared Link And from the the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI) Practice Paper, Current approach to the diagnosis and management of adverse reactions to foods [Open Original Shared Link...
  14. Could be a B vitamin def or maybe some diabetic neuropathy? I am not a doctor of course, I just know these things can cause this neuropathy and burning, While I am no fan of medications myself, a low dose of something like neurontin (gabapentin )may help with that. Ask the endocrinologist maybe?! I hope you can get some relief soon. Let me know how you...
  15. My mouth burned for nearly 3 years. It was unrelenting and horrible. But it 's gone now. My GI doctor and I have read everything there is on it and some causes are: B-12 deficiency, damage to nerves, hormonal changes, a very dry mouth, which can be caused by medicines and disorders such as Sjögren’s syndrome or diabetes, any number of nutritional de...
  16. I guess these are the things you said in your first post that made people think your family is "capable" but unwilling to help. Fear the stove/ oven? they fear it? really?? Don't blame readers for misunderstanding what you said....it seems as if you are complaining about lack of help or support. We rallied around you and gave you some ideas for...
  17. Hold on a second... I *thought* you were looking for some help from us because you are unable to cook and needed food prep options. We all rushed to give you good advice on how to get around this while you are healing, by getting some help from your family, but you have made dozens of excuses why they can't or won't do it. I guess we all misunderstood...
  18. oops, just saw this glaring typo..stupid auto correct lol Anyhoo...this sure sounds like a nice guy!!
  19. I had "in Long Beach CA" added to your thread title so you could get more replies and I had a feeling cycling lady or GottaSki lisa would pipe in (or both) LOL Please stop doing colonics. Repeated irrigation of your intestines is unnatural and not necessarily a good idea. Chronic constipation can be caused by hypothyroidism, not enough water, not...
  20. Yupl it is always exciting to find something we like that also likes us back! Very best wishes on your pregnancy!
  21. I am G F and SF and I have never had an issue with it.
  22. Good for you, Pegleg! I have always enjoyed "talking with you" and I send you big hugs and a giant "Cheers!" All the best!
  23. well, it is interesting that I have responded to this thread, because Itchy skin and flushing and neuro symptoms....may mean this (read the link) (But I am not a doctor, remember...) and if going grain free and dairy free did not help, it could very well be another intolerance (like histamine intolerance )or something called MCAS..read this, please ...
  24. Hon. I'd get a second opinion, if your symptoms are worse and you are sure you are entirely G F
  25. Not sure you really want to know what I think about this newest "sub-specialty of chiropractors"... and I would hardly leave any diagnosis about my brain or neurological system to a chiropractor who is "guessing what may be going on". Please, go see a neurologist. Chiropractors are not medical doctors and should not be diagnosing people. (and my own chiropractor...
