Having suffered severe neuropathy and burning nerve pain during the 3 years prior to my diagnosis, I had the same battery of testing you did. EMGs on legs and arms (that is not fun), a brain MRI and a spinal MRI, testing for lupus, diabetes and repeatedly for Lyme,I was told I probably had fibromyalgia and I should take Neurontin plus nortryptiline or lyrica...

IrishHeart commented on jebby's blog entry in The Patient Celiac
Thanks for summarizing what you learned at the symposium, Jess. I have been getting some great info from Karen, and any more I can hear is eagerly awaited. I know how busy you are, so just taking the time to summarize all that is fantastic! and wow! I had no idea that: There are many types of tissue transglutaminase (TTG) antibodies. Type 2 TTG... -

Any chef who provides daily bacon is a good chef. Maybe his appetite was up because he was happy to see his Mom?. Oh yes, there are lots of RED things at Sur La Table. I got some big ole red silicone oven mitts yesterday. (picture things that may be used to handle industrial waste lol) I have a problem with burning myself while taking things out... -

Plus, her name is Ginny. Ginny Bakes. I mean, c'mon! Hubs' Bday is Dec. 13. His day was kept separate, he recalls and not combined with Christmas. His parents made sure of that. He was an only child, so that could be part of it. My cousin's Bday was Dec. 25. She said she did not mind it as she thought all the fuss was about her.lol I think the only... -

Wasn't Karen the one who suggested this particular offering from U of C to you? I have recommended it myself to some people, too and you are the first to tell us" it's coming!" and I hope you will share what's in it. ( we are all easily amused and excited and take pleasure in these things...LOL) It's so exciting to get a package, isn't it!... -

I was a serious baker and I did not use my rolling pin 2-3 times a month. I used it 2-3 times a year. TOPS. So, maybe our definitions of "serious baker" do not mesh. and I think your sweetie is very right in the head, IMHO. He'll be thrilled to know I said this, I am sure. There's more to enjoy in the dessert world than pie. in fact, pie...... -

ARCHIVED Causes Of Gastritis And Changes In The Duodenum
IrishHeart replied to Renaye's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
yes, my doctor was not even concerned about the gastritis. I read it on the report too and asked him about it. He was more interested in the intestinal scarring I have from not being Dxed all my life. He found it "fascinating". -
ARCHIVED Losing Consciousness?
IrishHeart replied to Jade Pray's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
You asked does anyone know what might cause you to lose consciousness? hon, we're not doctors on here and all we want is for you to be safe and healthy. If you pass out like that again, you might want to go to the emergency room. Not to scare you, but you can't "tough out" diabetes or a stroke. You may need medical attention. Sorry you... -

IrishHeart replied to kareng's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Okay, did you call my hubs last night? because he has already pitched this plea. My reply was one night of test- driving the candy for the kids is enough. Honestly, if I were to get it now, there wouldn't be any left come 10/31. I am a grazer--you know what that means, right...I graze the shelves in the fridge and the cupboards....and if I find it, I... -

That sounds like a blast!!!! ENJOY!!! The last time I got to do something like that with the neighborhood peeps was about 17 years ago (when I lived in the city) I was dressed as Elvira and gave out candy, then went to a party. whoohoo that was fun.... When I moved to a house on a dirt road on 7 acres, no one came up that long drive. Anyhoo... -

When I have been hit, I double the probiotics for a week (dose in morning, dose at bedtime) and it knocks down the inflammation and I drink a lot of water. Take it slow, rest. It's all we can do. Time heals. I eat mostly carby stuff (I know, fattening) but toast with jam just makes me feel better and then, just ride it out. Sorry, hunny ((HUGS...
