I do not know how long you have been diagnosed and gluten-free, but it may take awhile for the pain in your bones, joints and muscles to resolve. Make sure you have proper follow up care--blood work, etc. I feel your frustration but please, do not despair. My pain levels decreased dramatically after about 15 months gluten-free. I took a long time for...

IrishHeart replied to T.H.'s topic in Super Sensitive People
NO. Let me be very clear about this: I can assure you that it was was not me who said that to you. . I do not think anyone needs to live in a bubble. I am very familiar with mastocytosis because I have read a lot about it while researching because I have a histamine intolerance. But I control it with appropriate dietary choices. Several people... -

Many things can create the big D--even though you are doing a good job of being gluten-free.Infammation lasts for months after a gluten exposure (or after giving it up) Gastritits (inflammation of the GI tract) Unintentional gluten cross contamination other food sensitivities insufficient fiber an infection other inflammatory bowel diseases Why... -

I must be psychic, I swear. I just happened to sit down and came right to this thread because I saw Pegleg was asking about aches. Hi Barty! Hi Coll! Ok, peg (1) I most definitely have the symptoms you describe---exactly!--post glutening. I always have pain anyway (I have osteoarthritis, degenerating discs, blah blah blah and am rehabbing my muscles...

well, I am not in accord with you guys on this one, I guess. spanx and girdles are just sadistic punishment to me. I hate pantyhose too. To each her own. what can I say? I like to jiggle freely. -
ARCHIVED Am I Being Too Cautious?
IrishHeart replied to Mayasmum's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I would not want my child isolated. She would be very lonely sitting by herself. If she does not eat anyone else's food or touch it, I would think she would be safe. I sit next to people eating gluten and eat my food and nothing has ever happened to me. I know you are worried about her safety, but if she knows not to eat anything offered to... -

That's the truth. But then again, who is an expert on pre-wedding day bloating? now, that's quite a sub-specialtiy. -

and one more thing....control top panty hose will serve the same purpose as a girdle. IMHO but if you want to wear a girdle, it's your call. I loathe anything that is so tight I can't dance or breathe. Most of all, just have fun, kiddo. This is your day and you will be gorgeous!!! -

IrishHeart replied to vallene45's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
well, if you only ate corn pasta and toms, then one of those ingredients gives you bloat. it should disappear by tomorrow. it's not life threatening and it's not permanent. Get some sleep and stop worrying!!!!!! I'd be less concerned about a little tummy bloat than dark circles and wrinkles from worrying so much. hon....stop stressing. seriously... -

IrishHeart replied to vallene45's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Is the corn pasta and tomatoes ALL you ate? if so, one of those is your culprit But if you ate anything else today or even yesterday, it may be too difficult to track it down right now. Forget trying to be detective on the food that is causing inflammation right now. No offense to the tea idea, but seriously, the WATER is the basis for flushing... -

There is much debate over the validity of "IgG food intolerance" testing vs. IgE-mediated llergy testing. It could be portion size, it could be temperature rendering something negligible (according to recent article I read in Living Without Mag) all I know is they make me wicked nauseous, give me cramps, and some other assorted symptoms I'll spare you the deets on because we are at the table right now and when I eat them baked in something like a crust, I... -

That does look delicious and reminds me of a sauce I use in a sauteed chicken breast recipe with apples and raisins. I am sure it tasted FAB!! If you burn your fingers often, yup, I am pretty sure we're related. I decided to make a fritatta last night. I make those when I have veggies and eggs and a some bacon laying around and I am feeling lazy. LOL... -

I had to think about this post all afternoon before I answered you. I am so very sorry you lost your baby. That is a tragedy and a sadness that is beyond description. I know. I lost 5 because of undiagnosed celiac. But that was 20 years ago, when I did not know I had celiac. You know you have celiac. I was not DXEd until my 50's after I became... -

I wish I knew the name of that oil because that's a new one on me. (and kind of weird. Why would someone put barley in a pure cooking oil?) That was just a rhetorical question, BTW. I often wonder aloud about the crazy things found in food items. Just makes no sense to me.
