Read this: Open Original Shared Link and please, read the Newbie 101 thread in the coping section. Maybe you should get the book Real Life with Celiac Disease by Melinda Dennis and Daniel Leffler. and take a giant deep breath because you are doing a good job, but you need to take one step at a time. -

Those are not the only G F toothpastes, however. I use Sensodyne, for example. Tom's of Maine is G F.The point is: It's not a common ingredient in toothpaste, honest. Don't get too crazy replacing things, ok? Laundry detergent, things that you would not swallow --are of no concern. I have never changed my laundry detergent, dish soap, bar soap or... -

I give the big thumbs up on 3- ring binders for recipes. I had one before DX and it's still got all my tried and true ones in there (I did have to discard some gluteny stuff...mutter mutter.....) But I've got one now for just gluten-free baked goods/breads/pizza doughs, etc I call that one the thunder thighs binder. -

if it makes you feel better, that's what happens if I get hit. Not the same as when first DXed when I'd be sidelined for weeks. The muscle pain ramps up to 10 and I get burning nerve and skin pain, a bunch of sores on my face and scalp, I feel off balance and awkward (more awkward than usual lol) , the fatigue is unbeleivable and I want to punch people... -

K Great idea for the soups and chili thread. I'll cut and paste a few there. and kudos on posting a pic. Cupcakes look de-lish!! The Atlanta brisket I made (I saw it on Cook's country) was really good and the meat was fork tender.I served it with smashed potatoes and steamed English peas. Thursday, it made a delicious brisket sammy on the rolls... -
Flower Given your complex thyroid-diabetes-celiac triad, I am wondering if an endocrinologist's certified dietician would be of help to you? S/he could help you sort through the food choices, balance the amount of complex carbs you take in and maybe nail down the culprit in the process. My friend with hypothyrodism/diabetes went to one and even though...

Hon, the person you are replying to posted back in 2004. I sincerely doubt she will see it. Just so you know. -
You just asked this question recently and a few of us wondered about the metformin that you take. Did you discontinue it to see if it was the problem? just wondering. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/104656-stomach-cramps/#entry892166

Interesting.... and since it is very expensive to extract, I am surprised that any restaurant would bother to use it.

uh huh and I have one of those hubs too....who "likes to keep me company" with a bowl of 'scream or cookies whatever I may be indulging in... and he says it's all my fault when he gains weight. -
Is the metformin absolutely necessary to treat your type II diabetes? if not, can you go without it to see if it is the culprit? My sister and niece both developed terrible symptoms from it, including stomach pains. They stopped taking it and manage their type 2 diabetes with diet only.

When I went through that hot flash malarkey, I would wake up hot as blazes and go outside in the middle of the night, in the dead of winter and stand there, in my nightie and I swear to you, the snow and ice around me would melt ...in a ring. I radiated heat. My advice? Eat more ice cream. Popsicles. Cool yourself from the inside out. -

low or no humidity in fall, winter, spring. Honest, If my hair is not kinky-curling, it's not humid. It's not kinking. And I'm not sticking around for the very hot sticky stuff. That's when I am going North. -

This another reason why you could easily live with me. I am an "idea person". I love to come up with creative ideas for food--and drinks--and, I do not even mind washing dishes. But, if you will help chop and dice and lift crap our of the oven for me (because you know my shoulders are bad) well, we'd be a match made in heaven. Yes, take 2 cookies,... -
