  1. I honestly cannot stand the smell of lots of things. I have super-nose, chemical sensitivities and I do not think it is the "gluten smell "making us nauseous. I think it is chemically-laden fast food garbage making us nauseous. We eat cleanly now, Our bodies reject all that crap. It's partly psychosomatic and partly real-live rejection. I have read this...
  2. I think this is very exciting news, Colleen. Thanks for sharing the article!
  3. Please, read all the reports -and the conclusions of the studies--before you think your rice is "no good".
  4. Well.....she said it all so well (and mostly what I would have said) so, I will be lazy (because I am tired from packing all day and getting ready to move) and say...DITTO! (thank you, Cyclinglady)
  5. Best bangers I ever had were in Tralee in Ireland. YUM!! Hi everybody!!. Just popping in to say I am alive and kicking and this is the last night in our home. Sleeping on an air mattress and sippin champagne and eating pizza and cheese cake (my friend who owns the G F bakery made sure we had enough to eat the last 2 days). . Whoohoo ! yeah, the plain...
  6. I get lots of them, inclduing GI stuff. Here, read this Open Original Shared Link
  7. Mommida makes a good point, but Candy may simply think it's okay because she is "not feeling anything" and we all know that does not mean it's not causing damage.. CANDY...stop eating wheat bran.
  8. Well, I wouldn't warn you, hon
  9. Well, if you are concerned, though it's good to ask so you can feel okay with it. I walked through the stable and paddock areas many times ( to take photographs) and was able to pet some of those gorgeous animals but I did not actually feed any of them, so again, I am hoping someone who feeds them regularly will chime in and give us some thoughts.
  10. If you have Celiac or NCGI, you are taking a huge risk eating wheat bran. You may think it is safe to eat, but you are wrong, sorry.
  11. My first thought was "no kissing after he has had pizza and a brewski until he brushes his toofuses" ? Just kidding with ya, kiddo. Sorry, I am a little silly after having sedation for a procedure yesterday. Not sure what you may be asking here. Are you concerned about their feed somehow? I was around horses all summer and never gave it a thought that...
  12. I have found that staring at the package of meat only cooks it minimally. You may have to do something more to it, babes. In the olden days (back when we rode dinosaurs to work) when hubs was out of town, I ate stoopid stuff. The gourmet in me was not interested in cooking for 1, so I ate things like chip and dip, peanut butter and banana on toast, and...
  13. I have a histamine intolerance but for some reason, those do not bother me. Too much red wine, hard cheese and tomatoes, though....oh boy.
  14. I am old. I call people I like "Kiddo". My Dad called me Kiddo and his brothers and friends called him Kid. just "stuck". I was a teacher for 22 years.... had lots of kiddos..... you get the picture. yes, we all laugh at ourselves. Makes making mistakes more enjoyable that way. ....and with celiac/NCGI, you always have pals.... and you are never alone...
  15. mmmm pork chops.....i. am. so. hungry. the thinger is this morning. whoohoo! do not fear surprises from me. Have I let you down yet? too tired to make caps or check grammar (yes, i feel that wiped out even I do not care about it) ok that parenthesis thinger was instinctual this afternoon, I will be happy to eat. I do not know how people purposefully...
  16. well, Karen told you just now and so, I'll be the 4th to tell you the cross-reactive theory is just that....a theory. Many celiacs drink coffee and we are fine. Your gut is still healing, so it may just not be liking the coffee just now. I could not drink coffee, alcohol, citrus and eat a bunch of things when I was very sick and just DXed. It gets better...
  17. Kiddo...this could very well happen to any of us. I have been known to become distracted by something like the cat or some good lookin cabana boy walks by and forget I am in the mid..........
  18. this is K...being "uncouth"
  19. holysmokes, Peg--you could have your own beer cozy business. PeglegBabykegKovers. Copyrighted, this day by IH You're welcome! Send me one for the hubs?
  20. No, never. I did think death would be easier when i was in excruciating pain, but I refused to give into that thinking. I do not have any children and it is the biggest sadness of my life (celiac caused many miscarriages over several years and a lot of heartache) and even though I wrote my will in July 2010 when I was dying a slow death, I kept pushing...
  21. it is a very different circumstance and that is why I pointed it out. Very glad the kiddos escaped without any harm done, but in a way, it brought to light that the hubs was pulling an " end run" on you. Whenever someone gets loud and defensive, I usually think "ha! he KNOWS he is wrong, then". so he may be thinking about what transpired and in...
  22. I understand your frustration and irritation and I am glad you are venting to us instead of yelling at him. He messed up, but you are wise enough to know he is a good guy. There is one thing I will say.... you said this: Never ever encourage the kids to be sneaky behind my back... Ever! Now, I do agree they should not be sneaky or lie outright...
  23. EXACTLY what HE said. I just tell people "I have celiac disease and I need to be gluten free. "Watcha got I can eat?" with an ingratiating smile. I have been to weddings, funerals, and meetings and no one has ever made me sick. Most people want to help! CALL the caterer. Hon, if you have Celiac, this is for the rest of your life. Get used to being...
  24. Hon. do not go gluten free until you are done testing. I see in your sig line: Next to test: celiac and thyroid.
  25. That's how I spell it.... FWIW and fusion cuisine is "chic" have to hold my temper --1 more week....asshat neighbors are shooting BOOMING guns and when I yelled Ok, thanks, That's enough,,,,he yelled "just gettin started" and the other jerkwads laughed (cannot see them through the trees, mind you so they are very "brave" ) ($you@fu*^%...
