  1. I had breakfast at the G F cafe yesterday near me, and a little girl (age 6) was sitting next to me. Her Dad told me she was Dxed at 3 with type 1 diabetes (she wears an insulin pump) and now, celiac. Well, that little angel was enjoying a sugar free cupcake and when i said " I have celiac too!" , she said "oh boy!. so, you're on my team?" I was never...
  2. hmmmm.. I do not know why, hon.,...I just clicked on it and it connected just fine. Maybe something with your computer? try typing in www.nuts.com?
  3. As I mentioned, I use nuts.com Gluten free flours Open Original Shared Link I have also used Bob's Red Mill and Authentic Foods flours without a problem.
  4. I'm with the Elf! Chocolate and cheese...two of my fave foods (after a fresh baked french loaf... back in the old days....sigh). anyhoo.. Diet changes, sitz bath,...
  5. ORANGE said: Whenever I tell doctor my symptoms, they tell me they do not fit one actual diagnosis. Yup, they do... Celiac. Orange, I had every single one of the symptoms you listed, plus a couple dozen more. I was even treated for supposed Hashi's for 2 years and that was not the issue at all. Sure, my thyroid was malfunctioning & I had...
  6. Like Ken, I am a big fan of coconut milk. I get many things from nuts.com. Never had a single problem from anything that comes from their G F section. for oats, I use Open Original Shared Link Also, my friend who owns a G F bakery sources her starches and flours from Thailand. No problems.
  7. Sorry, Kiddo. Happens to us all at some point or another. Drink a lot of water to flush your system, maybe try charcoal tabs for a day or so.... and just try to get extra rest.. Your body took a hit. I had migraines all of my life, so I know how horrid they are. Hope you feel better soon!
  8. As much as I hate to think it, I, too am beginning to think I need to give up all night shades. (I can almost hear Shroomie chuckling at me as she often said..are you sure you don't need to dump them all, IH?) I refused to believe it. I have come so far with less pain from osteoarthritis, *( and of course, off gluten,) but also going low histamine...
  9. from the website: Do Folgers products contain gluten? Coffee is not a source of gluten, and our Folgers roast and ground coffee items are produced in a dedicated facility where no other types of agricultural crops are handled or processed; however, due to the use of common equipment within the agricultural community to harvest, store and...

  11. try the sitz bath anyway....it cleanses, soothes, may even solve the problem without a doc/probe session... and I agree eww! I had a GI doc's NP who was a grouch and she had fat fingers and NO, I do not miss her at all.. I do not even go to that office anymore(shudder) (still not me, still not really here..... )
  12. Could be an anal fissure from all that straining? My sister (who would kill me if she knew I said this, but she never reads anything I write anyway much less come on here lol) had one and she had bleeding and eventually, it was painful and stinging, she reported. and even though it is not my favorite thing to do either (go to the doc and have them...
  13. (1) From the celiac panel test results only, you do not have Celiac. (2) when you say..."They did not look for celiac damage during the endoscopy."..did they do a BIOPSY? (3) because that is the only way to diagnose Celiac, not from just "looking at your stomach"
  14. I'm all for idiot- proof anything these days. lots of idiocy circulatin.... I am starting to cook whatever I grab first out of the freezer these days since I have to empty it out in 3 weeks and I am up to my arse in packing tape and boxes. 15. That Find Me Gluten Free site is awesome--and I post on there myself!! Glad we found that vitamin thingy together, sweets!!. ((hug))
  16. Sorry, but I was only doing my job as a moderator to control the discussion on the thread. Rarely do I do such a thing (as you may have noticed, I am almost always among the first ones to respond to a newbie's cry for help) Haven't I answered many of your questions, hon? and I in no way was talking about you taking a rest or no longer posting. No need...
  17. agreed! this is a "cleanliness" issue not a gluten issue. and really, who the hell eats off dirty plates? (not just "gluten" crusted) Amen, brother.
  18. One more time. Because this is really a non-issue. I am pretty sure no gluten will be on a plate or a fork if your dishwasher--- or your " washer of the dishes" (in the absence of a machine) does a good job. Let's give it a rest.
  19. You get used to it because it becomes the "new normal". I promise you that! (and who here hasn't done the dumpster dive to re-check something? anyone? anyone? Bueller?) So sorry you got hit but drink a lot of water and stay positive. (thinking negative is just part of the gluten head crap, I have noticed--for me anyway. My usually upbeat nature...
  20. I think Find Me Gluten Free is your best resource for dining out, rather than yelp, I post regularly on FMGF as do many others.
  21. Hon, you said this: I had to do a gluten challenge for total 4 weeks. I did have D and constipation, bad gas and bloating but I only had brain fog like 3 times towards the end of the challenge. I had stomach pains, at times pretty bad but most times I could tolerate them. Anyways, I did not feel as bad as I anticipated and I am starting to doubt that...
  22. We do kinda grow on ya, don't we? (like mold) And we are wicked smart. (ahem, and humble) seriously, though.....I have always found the advice from real live celiac veterans to be the best resource there is, next to the celiac specialists.
  23. Some people may, unfortunately. I do not............. nor do I recommend that.
  24. well, I googled that combo of words and got this below and I sure would like to know who the hell composed THIS stupid definition on "dictionary.com"? source called WordNet.3.0 by Princeton University?? check it out. THIS IS SO WRONG!! Open Original Shared Link gluten-free diet noun diet prescribed to treat celiac disease...
  25. KarenG, "GottaSki" Lisa and I are always posting links to the U of C website. We also agree...it has the most comprehensive information in one spot. I also like Tricia Thompson and Shelley Case's sites for nutritional information and the book Real Life With Celiac Disease by Melinda Dennis and Daniel Leffler. Excellent Resource--covering dozens of...
