Thanks for your input! I spoke with a family member who is a chiropractor & he said to ask my doctor to check me out for 'thorasic output syndrome', so that's on my to-do list. I worried about a TIA also, especially considering my history. Obviously I need more testing - symptoms are still present. To twe0708 - 'neuropathy problems'? Could...

Hi, Does anyone know if there is a connection between Celiac and osteo/nerve issues? Are Celiacs prone to osteopathic or nervous tissue degenerative diseases? My history - diagnosed with Celiac about 3 yrs. ago - gluten free ever since. Since then, internal carotid dissections and aneurysms thought to be caused by Fibromuscular Displaysia, Tension...

ARCHIVED Lack Of Energy And Constipation.....still....pondy replied to raea2002's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease Here's what helps me with "C" : MiraLax - 17g twice daily as needed Senna tablets - 1 tab twice daily as needed. *I would start with one or the other, just once a day.* My "C" is chronic, hence the larger doses... Also, probiotics like Culturelle seem to help. As others have mentioned, try avoiding soy, dairy & sugar. Good luck to you!

ARCHIVED I'm Having More Problems Now That I've Gone Gluten-Free!pondy replied to kimliz59's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease Hi kimliz59, I can relate to the 'C' issues because I've been dealing with it for years - before and after being diagnosed with Celiac & going gluten free. Here's my "fix"... MiraLax twice daily, Culturelle probiotic every morning, 1 Senna tablet every night. This combination has made a huge difference, I'm happy to say! Just recently I started...

ARCHIVED Is This Feeling With Celiac Normal?pondy replied to SKACeliac's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease I was told, by both my doctor and the radiology tech, that pelvic ultrasounds can show different things on different days - I know, it sounds ridiculous, right? The reason my latest ultrasound showed nothing was because there was too much stool in the way - sorry for TMI I know I have/had an ovarian cyst because they saw it on a scan 10 months ago...

ARCHIVED Is This Feeling With Celiac Normal?pondy replied to SKACeliac's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease Do you have pain or tenderness? Just two weeks ago I had all of the symptoms that you described, but I also developed pain & pressure behind my bellybutton. It then radiated to the right side. My doctor ordered a pelvic ultrasound to rule out something ovary related - the test showed nada & the symptoms just went away. For me too, the symptoms...

ARCHIVED Pulsatile Tinnitus & Headachespondy replied to pondy's topic in Related Issues & Disorders Thanks Irish Heart! I'm glad your tinnitus & headaches have lightened up! The neurosurgeon was uninterested in my symptoms... he recommended a neurologist and possibly an ENT. For either one, I need a referral from my primary - which maybe I can get on Monday. I don't know... maybe it is related to the weird lump on my skull. Ugh! I thought...

Hi Everyone, I'm having some strange things going on... Since Feb. 10th I've had a headache that comes & goes - but it came on like a freight train - sudden & really severe & with blurred vision. It was the worst ever! It lasted 5 full days! Since then, the headaches have been daily & intermittent. I've been irritated by hearing...

ARCHIVED Has Anyone Had Experience With Amitiza? gluten-free?pondy replied to cap6's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease My GI put me on MiraLax and 1 Senna tablet twice a day - great combo for me, works very well. MiraLax is gluten free, as is generic Walgreens brand Senna. GI also said the fact that I take Culturelle probiotic will help - I have to agree. I've been pretty much 'regular' ever since being on it. Don't forget the water - lots of it! As for extra fiber....

ARCHIVED Problems With Surgery Related To Gluten Intolerance?pondy replied to dws's topic in Related Issues & Disorders dws - I was in PT 2 times per week for about 3 months. If memory serves, I ended up at about a 92 degree ROM. I'm sure I'm 100% now though. What seemed to help a lot was manually manipulating the tissue - like giving my knee a really deep massage. It was painful but necessary. I rode the stationary bike as often as I could - went to the gym on crutches...

ARCHIVED Problems With Surgery Related To Gluten Intolerance?pondy replied to dws's topic in Related Issues & Disorders dws- I had 2 arthroscopes (torn meniscus in each knee).. I get it - I was really slow to heal & also had tons of s scar tissue & swelling. Don't know if it is related to having celiac disease, but I am slow to heal with everything - even bruises. It has been a full year since my last scope ( had PT also) & it IS better. Keep working it &...

My biopsy came back pretty much "normal" also (yea!) - but like you, my upper left GI pain continued... turns out my stomach was full of H Pylori. I am thinking that was a primary cause for the pain because - happy fo report - that pain has pretty much subsided now that I am about 2 weeks post antibiotic treatment. So, I don't know if that helps or anything...

ARCHIVED Upper Abdominal Pain - Under Ribcagepondy replied to pondy's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease Update here... I am on day 12 of 2 different antibiotics for H Pylori. I've been extremely nauseous - only really able to eat plain bread & water. Thank goodness I only have 2 days of meds to go. Came down with stomach flu - everyone at work had it. No D, just vomit, abdominal pain... the usual suspects. Today I had D twice - how, I don't know...

ARCHIVED How Do You Mentally Cope With Celiac?pondy replied to mtdewpeg's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease For me, it just is what it is. Gotta accept life on life's terms I s'pose. Actually, I like the fact that I am eating healthier now than I ever had.

ARCHIVED Upper Abdominal Pain - Under Ribcagepondy replied to pondy's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease I agree that eatiing frequent small meals throughout the day is easier on the g.i system. I've gotten into this habit recently & have found it helpful too. Now that I am taking massive quantities of antibiotics for the H Pylori, I have severe burning & indigestion... Eating a little snack always remedies the situation. Thanks for the input!
