  1. My soy intolerance hits me faster than gluten. I can feel off and if I have too much projectile hurling king of the world!! I did not have this pre-Celiac, so along with dairy maybe one day this will clear up and I can eat the nasty soy that I did not like to begin with.
  2. yeah. That was what I was thinking. Not just the gluten but having the wheat in the air. I would assume it is similar to those with grass allergies who react when the yard is mowed. With that much wheat, I would be shocked to think that at least some gluten would not be in the air. If nothing else, the anxiety of fearing a glutening can be horrible.
  3. ick. I would think that no matter what you do it will be on your skin, clothing, in the air ....not fun at all.
  4. I would pay extra if I knew the person making, handling, and serving the food knew all the issues surrounding gluten. It just makes sense to me since we are asking them to know more than the majority of the country know regarding gluten.
  5. I agree with the previous two posters. The label is too constricted now, IMO. I do believe as more understanding of the disease develops, there will be a more inclusive definition of the diagnosis. This lack of inclusion is what leads many of us to have no choice but to self diagnose. My single fail of one blood test shut down all future discussions and I...
  6. That is interesting because Emergen C is only 1 gram in each dosing. You definitely have a lot of room to bump it up without concern if you get used to that small a dose over time.
  7. My issues started near kidhood, flare at 31ish that was bad. They studied me for a year and then took my gallbladder which wrecked me. Full blown from jan 2010 to march 2011 in a serious, think you are doing to die way, before I figured it out. Multiple GI and all their tests could not figure it out over 20ish years because I passed one blood test. I trialed...
  8. I agree with you completely. I had to make that post so that it was real in my head. I kept going back to the Bs and D every now and then so "they would help me heal" with the same result every time...wrecked system. Vitamin D and the Bs are very, very hard on a lot of us, but they are a bit nudged at times. That fatigue may simply be your worn out body or...
  9. I originally noticed that Red Bull (have small can maybe once a week or less) started causing me some nausea and offness, so I stopped those thinking it was something in there. Noticed that with the B-100 I got the same feeling. Low to midgrade nausea, no decrease in fatigue in any way. Even the B-50 and half of one of those causes it regardless of the amount...
  10. Some docs will show you how to give the shots to yourself. It is extremely easy and cheap.
  11. I think everyone's advice makes sense based on what many of us feel when we "realize" we have celiac. At first, your gut is often fried and you seem to be intolerant of many things. For me it is constant soy and dairy. When I have been glutened add eggs and alcohol (very light drinker) to that list. As it heals up, the eggs and alcohol go away in about 2...
  12. I have had this issue on and off since an infant. Finally tracked it to dairy. I get sinus-y and congested with a lot of dairy, but even small amounts trigger Eustachian tube issues that make the eyes clogged. Went away pretty quick when I eliminated dairy.
  13. As much as I would love to disagree, they are right. I still have not 100% committed to permanent gluten-free. I get better and then relapse. It really is not worth it just in the symptoms you feel. Even worse for the issues you do not feel that will affect your life later.
  14. i just have to think that the amount of gluten that could possibly get through that process has to be no more than you would get CC'd with just being alive assuming nothing is added later to it. I think a lot of people's issue with the hard liquor is that their gut is too tender for it. I could be wrong.
  15. I am severely fat intolerant until I recover. Eggs, 93% lean beef, even a few tablespoons of olive oil just to coat a pan. Then swollen belly, inflated feeling, and the same results as the OP.
  16. I tell people I have Celiac. Even had a doctor offer to officially diagnose it after reading my past medical history and my response to a gluten-free diet. I preferred not to have a "preexisting condition." Had a negative blood test 10ish years ago and they had dropped the issue. Never did a biopsy for it when they scoped. Like many, I figured it out myself...
  17. That is interesting. My understanding was the bleeding was a sign that the issue is not celiac but something else like crohns.
  18. I have a feeling that my gut may just be too tender for any alcohol at the moment, but Bacardi. ick. lol.
  19. I have read all the archived posts in here about Captain Morgan, but I still do not feel like I know if it is an issue because of the barrels. Some swore it was contaminated, some the opposite. Just at a loss. I drink very little. At night I might at most have a double shot in a Pepsi throwback (old sugar receipe, not HFCS) but on several mornings I get...
  20. I think the big take home message is in the early stages of getting better you could be jacked up with so many intolerances. It is rough trying to figure out what you have issues with now that you might not have had before and might not in a couple of weeks.
  21. i go through cycles of being intolerant of things. The things I never seem to tolerate are dairy, soy, fructose (fruits, sugar drinks, high fructose corn syrup). Steamed veggies are rough. Coconut oil decimates me even in small amounts. I find that after a few days on the specific carbohydrate diet I really, really get normalized and feeling better although...
  22. SCD here. Eggs for breakfast and then chicken or beef for lunch and the other for dinner. Some fish throughout the week. Lots of carrots. I tend to have issues with fructose, dairy, soy. I use cronometer.com (free) [hope it is allowed to mention it] to track my nutrition which honestly even with a limited diet is better than my previous fast food...
  23. Is anyone currently doing the SCD diet who would not mind me private messaging them a couple of questions about the diet? I have read the book and been on it for a few days as well as made the yogurt but had a few questions. Many thanks in advance.
  24. I agree. Dairy and gluten set me on fire. Not 100% gone when I am good but that could be because I tend to cheat like an idiot.
  25. Celiac!

Sorry for the run on words...Bad keyboard...keeps jamming...driving me CRAZY!
