  1. Cod. Put it in a baking dish. Add butter, perhaps a little lemon, and if desired (and on your diet), top with gluten-free bread crumbs. It's done when it's white and flaky. PS, if you can find any Against the Grain products, they make great bread-like substances.
  2. If it contained wheat the label would have to say so. It's the law. That being said, there is no law about labeling for barley. I would think it would be on the label anyway though. The only way to know for sure is to call the company and/or check their website. (It's been my experience that emailing is better. They could always deny a person on the phone...
  3. It's warmed up a little bit here. Today we're supposed to have a high of 14F above. But between the snow we had a few days ago and what dumped on us overnight there are about ten inches on the ground right now. I just came in from shoveling and my feet are soaked and cold.

  5. I have to be honest. Even with the coupon, they sure seem overpriced for what you're getting. Most of them contain less than 3 ounces of food. I'd rather make up my own "to go" lunches. Some nuts, a hard-boiled egg, a piece of fruit, a few crackers. It would taste better and be cheaper.
  6. Well, it was something like 10 below here last night. My favorite cold weather activity is sitting near the heater with a hot cup of coffee in one hand,a good book in the other, and the cat in my lap. This STINKS!!!
  7. Have you tried Pamela's? They're not bad at all. I like to put them on a paper plate and pop them into the microwave along with a damp paper towel. Makes 'em softer.
  8. Jill, if the tests come back positive you will HAVE to go gluten-free unless you want your health to deteriorate further.   18. It is NOT a sandich meat product. It is a frozen turkey breast and if it had soy it would have to say so by law. Soy is one of the top eight allergens and it MUST labeled. Check out the ingredients at the bottom of the box on the right: Open Original Shared Link
  19. I know fresh turkeys aren't injected, but I was just on the Butterball website and discovered that their frozen turkey breasts have nothing but turkey in them.   21. Now SMRI just had a good idea! If you could make a line made from potato flour there would be not problem with contamination, and as we all know, Maine grows (sorry Idaho) the best potatoes in the world. Locally grown AND gluten-free. What could be better?
