  1. I just looked up Shop Rite. They are in the Northeast. You should be able to find a bunch of good seafood shops in your area. You'll get better fish there than in the grocery store.
  2. It depends on where you live. Here in the middle of the country it's almost impossible to get good fish. Everything in the grocery store is frozen and from China. I won't eat fish from China. Once in a while I go to "the big city" and can find wild caught Pacific fish (cod), and even though it is SUPER expensive, I buy myself some maybe once a year as a treat...
  3. Time's are tough Life is hard Here's your online Christmas card.  Seriously though, I wish all of you a wonderful Christmas, a happy and healthy new year, and I want to thank you all for the help, advice, and support.
  4. I'd chalk it up to stressed out people trying to simplify their shopping. They've probably all been running around shopping for their families and shopping for co-workers is just an afterthought. I would just "re-gift" them, or donate them to the food pantry.
  5. That's one way for drug companies to FINALLY make some money off of us.

    ARCHIVED Bison

Thanks, IH. YOU are one of the people He has sent to help me too. Glad you're eating bison. It just makes you feel healthy, doesn't it? I hope your Christmas is the best ever! ((((HUGS))))

Yep. I don't know if, like a lot of forums, we aren't supposed to bring up religion here, but I will say that God has always watched out for me, and through other people like this anonymous donor, He has always given me what I need. Merry Christmas to you too.
  8. Coffeemate is not dairy-free. Maybe you could start drinking your coffe either with the rice milk or black. Black coffee is better for you anyway. Regular milk or cream makes coffee more acidic. Don't know about rice milk, but I bet if you tried it black you would learn to like it quickly.

    ARCHIVED Bison

Yeah, it IS shaping up to be a great December for me. There have been some pretty good guitar related things going on too, and I ALSO got a new banjo that a local guy made. Best sounding banjo I have ever played. I'll most likely be spending Christmas alone with my cat, but I'll be eating well and playing my new banjo, so it'll be a great Christmas anyway...

    ARCHIVED Bison

I don't like to eat grocery store beef because of all the hormones and antibiotics. I LOVE bison though. Well, I just wanted to share my great fortune with you folks. I was talking to a customer whom I hadn't seen in a while. She said she was going to bring me some pork pie because she knows how much I love it. I had to tell her about my celiac disease...
  11. Nope. No soy. The only "ingredient" I thought might be iffy is "gluten-free natural flavorings", but I am happy to say that I have had no reaction whatsoever. YIPPEEE!!!!!!
  12. No offense taken, Karen. I was just thinking that if a person reacts to anything greater than 20 parts per million, and they eat a whole bunch of 5 parts per million foods in a short period of time, they might get glutened. I had never thought about it until GFreeMO brought it up.
  13. You know what I'd really like? A gluten-free ice cream cookie - you know, the ones that are like ice cream cone with the frosting inside. I'm sure there is no such thing, at least not without soy. But they do have Udi's gluten-free waffles at my local store. I could probably console myself with some of those with ice cream on top. I'm NOT going to go...
  14. Good question! I would think that Udi's, because it is made in a gluten-free facility, should be OK. But a lot of stuff isn't. There might be a TINY bit of CC in some of it, and that might add up. I usually eat mostly whole foods with just a little bit of gluten-free processed food. I eat a couple of slices of Udi's every day and some Blue Bunny All Natural...
  15. No big deal, but I just had my first cookie in over a year and a half. Almost all the cookies in my healthfood store contains soy so I haven't been able to eat them, but today I found Pamela's "Simplebites Extreme Chocolate Mini Cookies". I don't know if I can eat chocolate yet. I did OK with some (can't remember the brand) back at the beginning, but since...
  16. How about the flourless peanut butter cookies? One large egg, One cup of peanut butter, one cup of sugar. Mix together, form dough into balls, roll in sugar, then bake 'til they're done. You could even color the sugar you roll them in - some red, some green. I've never made these because I don't think I can do peanuts. But I'm going to get some cashew...
  17. I've said this before, but honestly, when I see those pictures I know I have no right to complain about ANY of my symptoms. My sick stomach is nothing. My trips to the bathroom are nothing. My psoriasis is a piece of cake. Even my jaw pain is nothing compared to what you folks have to put up with. My heart breaks for all of you who have DH. I wish I had...
  18. Protecting your health is NEVER unreasonable. Do whatever you have to do, and if others don't understand that is their problem.
  19. I keep an LED flashlight in my car that cranks instead of using a battery. I always have light available that way. Jumper cables are a must too. Instead of a blanket, I have a sleeping bag. It will keep me warmer.
  20. Old? ME?! Well, yeah, I've got that. Or, I had that but I seem to have misplaced it. Um, what were we talking about anyway?
  21. I think the dextrose is a red flag. That is usually corn. When I first became corn intolerant I couldn't eat Udi's either, but after a while I found that I could tolerate corn starch. It's the ONLY form of corn I can eat now, but corn starch doesn't have the protein in it that other forms of corn do. Maybe give it a rest for a while and then try Udi's...
  22. I'm telling you, the shock collar won't work. Even if you are there, if the dog decides to eat your cat, you won't be able to stop him. I'd hate for you to witness that. You'd never get over it. If you and your boyfriend insist that the dog is moving in too, you will need to keep them in seperate rooms at all times. I hate to sound like doom and gloom...
  23. Gut symptoms: two or three days. Psoriasis: two or three weeks Jaw pain: Three to six weeks Brain fog: The way I've been the past couple of days, I think that has moved in permantently!
  24. Before I went gluten-free, it was like that every day for me. I think it is malabsorption.
