  1. I found out my records were sent to Minnesota, but the nurse called and talked to the people in Florida to set up the appointment. When we were confirming things they said they never got the records. I called and had the nurse resend them...to the right place. We have gotten confirmation that they recieved them. I'm carrying an accordian file with the...
  2. I'm making my list of things to take..and checking it twice! I'm actually kind of shaky today, so I'm glad I'll be going soon. Since the weather will be warm there I had a hard time finding clothes that will fit. I've lost a lot of weight since we had warm weather here. We leave for the airport early Sunday morning. I'll look into those vitamins. It...
  3. Be aware that Campbell's in Canada has gluten free versions of some soups. In the US they don't. Read the labels!
  4. My first thoughts are that you have another food intolerance. Your Dr. is right..testing isn't good at finding them. Soy gives me pain like you described and it's in SO many things! I found it hiding in my supplements. It was in my fish oil, D3, in my Multi. It's in salad dressings, chocolate, It's in all sorts of things. Do you eat a mainly whole foods...
  5. AMEN! I've eaten out twice since my DX. At Red Robbin and Outback. Both times they took away the regular menu and gave one with no prices. It's a treat to eat out. I'd like to know the prices so I'm not ordering the most expensive item..and thereby blowing our budget.
  6. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! It's so nice to read your story of gaining good health, both for yourself and your son. It sure sends a strong message of hope for those new to the diet, like me.
  7. I found a site that tells how to make Perpetual soup. Open Original Shared Link You start with a whole chicken and remove the meat after 24 hours to use in recipes, then add the bones back to the crockpot and let them continue to cook/break down the bones to get their nutrients. You use some of the broth from it each day, and add a bit more water to replace...
  8. False negatives in bloodwork happen 20-30% of the time. I've never heard of a false positive. If the Dr. doesn't know how to read the test, they aren't going to be helpful to you. I got genetic testing. I got my results over the phone. I was told it was negative for Celiac. I couldn't believe it because I get severe gluten reactions. I didn't...
  9. AHA! Onions. Another piece to the puzzle?
  10. It looks like you *might* have an additional intolerance? The corn sounds like a likely one? If sweets bother you, the fructose might be something to consider too? I wonder about the fructose malabsorption too, for myself. In reading the link I found a few foods that I've had bad reactions to. I also wanted to mention..if you have damage in your intestine...
  11. I am so sorry my phone keeps posting messages twice on your wall! I actually just started taking probiotics and a new digestive enzyme so hopefully that works. I think it night have something to do with sugar :[ bummer. Well let me know how your doing and what they say!

  13. My husband has volunteered to do this for me. What a guy!
  14. I've noticed a couple of posts too, that seemed to be worded a bit harshly..and like Aly,in some of them I read the posts but didn't put my 2 cents worth in. I don't think AVR is just imagining it? I debated about mentioning one in particular..but here goes, because one stood out to me. The thread on alcohol is one of them. She posted a link about how...
  15. Some Dr.s will do an endoscope to look for damage in the small intestine even if your bloodwork is negative, but you have to be eating gluten for it to show any damage. See if your Dr. will do one, if you think it would help alieve your anxiety about not knowing what's going on? My blood tests were negative, which happens in 20-30% of us. I was given...
  16. My damage was severe and the Dr. could see it as scalloping of the intestine. Very obvious damage with the naked eye. Yours may have been similar? Since you were put on anti-biotics, be sure to take a good Probiotic as soon as you're done with them. It will help populate your gut with the healthy, good bacteria that you need for good digestion...and...
  17. Sounds like your daughter is understanding the gluten thing pretty well? That must make you feel good? It's so nice that your other daughter has come across such nice, accomodating people too?
  18. Well..you don't know if the kitchen where the bread was made had gluten cc? It's possible the bread wasn't made with gluten ingredients..but could have had a bit of contamination from the counter where it was made..or the pans? It could also be a bug? If you were with a big group of people..there's always a chance that you could have been exposed to something...
  19. Add me to the list of those who've lost their butts! It's now flat with a bit of droopy skin at the bottom. My legs and arms are twigs. Chest has flattened too. I used to hoist the 30# bag of dog food onto my shoulder and carry it into the house from my car. Now I can't lift it. I want a ba-donk-a-donk butt! IrishHeart..I'nm so glad you've finnally...
  20. Yea I'm not doing so well myself :( I don't know what to do anymore! I hope you feel better. I don't know if you believe in a higher power but I will be praying for you!

  22. I don't follow the Paleo diet so I don't know if you are allowed to have nuts, Avacados? You need some healthy fats to feel satiated. Olive oil, coconut oil, and fish oil supplements may help you? The diet is a bit lower carb than the typical American diet. It's hard to feel satisfied on mostly veggies. Adding in some good fats should help?
  23. I completely understand your frustration! You know yourself better than anyone..and when something isn't right you feel it and want answers. I hope you get things worked out so you feel better. (((hugs)))
  24. LOL..aren't most chips gluten free? She thought they'd taste bad without gluten? I hope you enjoyed them!
  25. I still say..see if you can get a referral to Mayo Clinic. They accept most insurances. It couldn't hurt to look into it? It's really hard when your tests aren't absolutely definate one way or the other. So many of us here have been misdiagnosed for other things over the years. Many of us get frustrated and it seems like the Dr.s don't belive us? It...
