  1. THANK YOU SO MUCH! That just saved me some time. Wish they would just put that on their list. Duh. Susan
  2. Thanks guys. One other question ... I got the gluten free list from Boston Market and the only chicken they list as gluten free is the Lemon Herb Rotisserie Chicken, plain grilled chicken breast, Spicy Tuscan Rotisserie Chicken, and the Sweet Garlic Rotisserie Chicken. The one I went to didn't even have these, it just had the regular rotisserie chicken. ...
  3. Along the same lines ... I've been on the diet for about a year, but it took a long time to really find all the gluten in my life. I've just changed most of my makeup, shampoo, soap, etc. But, how about laundry and diswashing detergents? Do these need to be gluten free too? I still feel like I'm getting a bit of gluten, but I have no idea what it...
  4. I had a bunch of trips to Boston last year and ate there a bunch of times. I never had a problem. However, some employees seem to "get it" better than others. I'm not sure how good their training is, but the food is usually great! I wouldn't be surprised if there was a mix up somehow. S
  5. Hi Jennifer, I'm very sorry to hear about the miscarriages. Hairloss is also a symptom of low thyroid. I'd check with your primary care physician and have them do a blood workup. Women with thyroid problems also tend to have more miscarriages. And, Celiac and thyroid problems seem to go hand in hand. S
  6. Yes! I get these too. These headaches were one of my worst symptoms. They are better since going gluten-free last year but they still seem to happen at times. I figure it's a reaction to something I am eating, however, I have no idea what. S
  7. Does anyone eat at Boston Market on a regular basis? I hadn't eaten there in years, but got a copy of their gluten free items today and decided to try it. I used to really like it. They started slicing my turkey on the counter where they had just cut a sandwich and I went in circles trying to get them to cut it on a clean surface. The knife was contaminated...
  8. Thanks! It's good to know that I am not alone. Interesting that I've always had these, but only food out about the gluten problem a year ago. S
  9. Hi Rachel, I just found out that the Bay Area Celiac support group is having a lunch at Maggiano's in March. See the following web site: Open Original Shared Link. Wish I could go, but I am already tied up on that day. S
  10. I just checked on Mucinex (as I am about to cough up a lung myself) this morning and their web site says it is gluten free. I've taken Nyquil liquid caps before, but I don't have the current info on it, so I'm not completely sure. S
  11. Hi all, I've had small bumps on the back of my thighs and rear end most of my life. They are not noticable unless you really look close, don't itch, aren't red, don't pop, don't seem to cause any sort of problem, just little tiny flesh colored bumps. The other day I noticed that they are mostly gone (don't ask me why I was feeling that area, you don...
  12. Hi Donna, The latest normal range for TSH only goes up to 2 (can't remember the minimum now), so anything over 2 is considered to be a problem. It's pretty borderline (subclinical hypothyroidism), but it could absolutely be affecting you. Many people report feeling good when their TSH is around 1. I would not be surprised if a doctor told you that...
  13. Hi Deborah, what restaurant was it? Thanks!
  14. I'm in. Where do I sign up! I don't eat at McDonald's. I am extremely thankful to have In-and-Out Burgers near me in California. They are an amazingly great fast food restaurant. They pay their employees well and don't use a bunch of additives and crap in their food. The food is cheap too. I urge everyone who can to support In-and-Out and...
  15. It seems to last 3 or 4 days for it to work itself out of my system. No pun inteneded.
  16. I had some great gluten free pasta at Maggiano's (Santana Row) in San Jose. The chef was very nice, made a ton of it for me so I could take some home. I live in the area but get stuck going to the same old places, Outback and PF Changs. However, most higher end restaurants in the area are good about making accomodations. If you're up for a nice trip...
  17. I live in the bay area, but look at this San Diego site for info sometimes. Open Original Shared Link
  18. This support group lists info on various chains, including On the Border. Not sure how current it is. Open Original Shared Link Susan
  19. I don't agree with this advice. If you'd had hasimoto's for a while, your thyroid may already be permenantly damaged. If you thyroid is damaged, being on a gluten free diet will not fix the damage that was already done - although hopefully it will prevent it from getting worse. Susan
  20. That does sound like an appt from hell! I've had appts like that and it is amazingly frustrating. Hang in there. Doctors are very clueless sometimes. It's not even the cluelessness that bothers me, it's that they are unwilling to listen or admit that they don't know everything. Susan
  21. I haven't seen those, do you happen to have a link? Susan
  22. Interesting, thanks for posting! I'm trying to convince a local restaurant chain to come out with a gluten free menu and this could help the cause. Susan
  23. Thanks for posting this! I've wondered about Chili's but haven't been there since my diagnosis. I always wonder about burgers with bacon because a lot of bacon is cured in soy sauce. Do you think they really check the details of all the ingredients? I've eaten the burger with bacon at Outback Steakhouse and didn't have any issues. It's listed on their...
  24. Does reading the same posts multiple times because you can't remember if you already read it count?
