  1. I feed my dog Blue Buffalo dog food. He loves it.
  2. I have no idea, but if they tell me no then I don't drink it. I have seen some pretty strange stuff in bar mixes in retail stores so who knows. I have noticed places with really good and strong drinks are ok, places with crappy, weak margaritas are usually not which leads me to believe what is being served (from placescthat say it contains gluten) is...
  3. I have had bartenders warn me against sweet and sour mixes. Not all, but some. Also, I've found any frozen blended drink is generally not gluten-free if they use a mix. I loved this hurricane thing at The Ritz Carlton but the bartender nixed it this year when I told him gluten-free. I've had similar results asking about frozen margaritas, daiquiris, etc...
  4. You can put him in a room of Celiacs on a gluten challenge??? Sorry, that wasn't funny... I find the mental/emotional difference between me on gluten and off becomes more obvious every day. Sometimes I just blurt out "wow, if that would have happened 6 months ago I would have lost it" and hubs laughs and agrees. My son wishes I was back on gluten...
  5. Dead Bread-heads. You can't explain it other than saying you have an autoimmune disease that destroys your GI system, and glutenous foods make you very ill. I find it's more your ability to say it with a certain tone and move on in conversation that does the trick. Of course, I can't convey that on here....other than to say its a matter-of-fact, no-nonsense...
  6. That's what I've got! Thanks, I love them and since I feel like I've got a cold a need a little something for a boost.
  7. If you were positive on a skin test 3 times for DH then you have a positive DH biopsy, which is a positive celiac dx. The endoscopy you described in your first post did not result in a biopsy - they just "looked" at your small intestine? If they didn't take samples from your intestine you did not have an endoscopic biopsy - you had a screwed up, incomplete...
  8. I'm very sorry to hear your daughter has been through so much. The thought is the blood tests are sensitive to the intestinal damage in Celiacs...and since DH Celiacs tend to gave the damage on the skin (and tie up iga in the skin) that is why they are more likely to be falsely negative. Also, if you were on steroids at any point around testing that...
  9. The weird, vivid dreams are normal, as well as any other weird thing that you think, crave, etc. Pregnancy can be quite funny if you keep a certain perspective. Don't force yourself to eat anything that turns your stomach, just keep up with your supplaments and remember everything will pass and soon enough you'll be meeting him/her and the adventures will...
  10. Ick. What about digestive enzymes? Will that help the GI issues at all? If you can, regular altoids are gluten-free. Won't charcoal bind all the vitamins/minerals and interfere with absorption?
  11. Oh goodness, you really have been through it haven't you? Yes, please try a gluten-free diet. I am betting you will find relief in ways you never expected. It takes more than a few weeks - since there is a detox period. You should also be tested for vitamin/mineral deficiencies. How is your daughter doing now? as you well know, Celiac is genetic and...
  12. That's fabulous news. And such a simple solution... Geez.
  13. These are manufactured by Farley's and Sathers, who won't give allergy info unless you call. Anyone try these before? These have been a holiday favorite and I'd love to keep them. I can call, of course, but would live to know others experiences.
  14. Men get yeast infections too. Actually, they can give them back TO you. They don't usually have obvious symptoms like women with vaginal yeast infections.
  15. Well, the first 6 months are a roller coaster. Some people find other food intolerances - temporary or permanent. Probiotics and digestive enzymes can help break down food and repopulate your system. Some people have low stomach acid and take an enzyme to help with it (search low stomach acid here). Sometimes you just have to revamp your diet and...
  16. You are showing autoimmune symptoms. You have stiff, aching joints, teeth problems, you're anemic, and you have a stomach ache. The most likely cause for these symptoms is the disease you were diagnosed with -Celiac Disease. You've been on dapsone for 20 years and were only on the gluten-free diet intermittently because the dapsone did the job. It's great...
  17. Congratulations!
  18. That made me giggle.... Isn't it noble to oppose the slaughter of gluten - containing crops????
  19. In-N-out is in Vegas, too, and probably on the road between SoCal and Vegas. Ethel M is a Nevada based chocolatier if you're into that - I have no idea if their stuff is gluten-free. Their factory is in Henderson. Don't miss Trader Joe's if you want to sample a zillion things. Vegas has so many great restaurants. I haven't been in a while but I'm...
  20. Oh, and if you like chocolates See's is supposed to have quite a few gluten-free choices. Open Original Shared Link See's is popular in Cali.
  21. We're actually trending to trialling him gluten-free and milk free regardless to see if he improves with some behavior issues... Just wondering if anyone else has tried it for those specific reasons. We would keep challenging and testing if he tests negative (but responds) to attempt an official dx. Since he's 9 he will have need of an official dx in...
  22. Ok, finally taking my son in tomorrow for blood tests. Have gone over the lab sheet and all of them are there, plus thyroid and vitamin. So here's the thing.... What if its negative? I'm suspicious of milk because he had milk protein intolerance when he was a baby (kept him off til he was 1). He has also has the buddha belly (skinny everywhere...
  23. Yes, let me count the ways.... The list is too long and depressing. I have found a love of tamales and corn chips. Apparently insatiable.
  24. Not that I know of. Some people will experiment by eating a lot of iodine, or putting iodine on their skin to see what happens. I fall on the side of withdrawing iodine (my biggies are egg yolks, milk products, seafood, carageenan). Try pulling him off the high iodine stuff for a week in addition to gluten and see how it goes. It takes me a week to...
  25. Well, first you need to know if you have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis or not. That blood test is a TPO. Demand it. Second, get a copy of ALL of your test results. You may find surprising things there. Many have in the past. Third, being hypothyroid can make you miserable. You are having symptoms and you sound like you need medication. Hypothyroidism...
